About this house rental

Mira Bradan is a four bedroom log home located on 4.5 acres of private land, with a private beach and dock. Mira Bradan has a huge deck and fantastic fire pit . We are now offering new fishing gear for the anglers or for those who would like to give fishing a try. Along with the kayaks and canoe on the property, we are adding a stand up paddle board for our guests to have a unique way to explore the beautiful Salmon and Mira River. Firewood, propane and washer toss are included as well. The Salmon River offers a tremendous opportunity for the fisherman in us all. Brown trout, speckle trout, shad and salmon all flow through the river. If you are looking for more than fishing, the Salmon River offers a fantastic canoeing and kayaking experience. You can kayak for an hour or a day and you will likely not see another person on the river. The Mira River also offers a great opportunity for the striped bass fisherman and is plentiful with trout. The river's width and calm waters make it ideal for boating and other fun water activities. The main house is constructed of logs on the interior with vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The Sunshine basement has it`s own entrance and a modern design concept. The property offers a huge deck that is 12 feet wide by over 50 feet in length!!! There is a huge sunk in fire pit over looking the Salmon and Mira river for evening fires. There are gravel paths to the beach where you will find, kayaks, canoe,a paddle board, fishing rods and tackle. The main dock and a floating swim platform are great for fishing or swimming on those hot summer days. Mira Bradan is immersed in nature with Bald Eagles often soaring overhead, beavers splashing in the quite parts of the river and if you lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a turtle building its nest! Mira Bradan is on the Salmon River and a stones throw away from the Mira River, 20 minutes to downtown Sydney, 1 mile from Two Rivers Wildlife Park, and 25 minutes to Ben Eion Ski Hill and The Lakes Golf Course. Mira Bradan offers spectacular views of the Salmon and Mira River, a private dock and beach, great canoeing and kayaking, a huge custom Fire Pit and 4.5 Acres of private property. Mira Bradan is great for a family getaway, a romantic week-end away, golfing, fishing and boating. The Salmon and Mira River offer incredible Kayaking and Canoeing experiences, enjoy the sounds of beavers tails splashing in the river, eagles soaring over head and a beautiful and tranquil location. Jump off the dock to cool off on a hot day or laze around on the deck. Enjoy the huge fire pit in the evening with family and friends. Come and enjoy winter on Cape Breton Island. Winter is a great time to experience all that Cape Breton has to offer, explore the many hiking trails, go back in time at the Fortress of Louisburg, have fun snow shoeing or spend the day skiing at Ben Eion which is only a short drive from Mira Bradan. Mira Bradan is the perfect spot for a family or a romantic getaway. Our house rules: no smoking, no parties or events, no pets.

Beautiful property, clean and welcoming place. Weather kept us inside but would love to stay here again and use the fireplace and enjoy the river.

It was an absolutely perfect piece of Cape Breton. Rolling hills, lots of trees, beautiful view of the water. Well located to visit any of the main Cape Breton attractions (Louisbourg, Baddeck). Place was absolutely beautiful, everything you could want easily found. The host was clear with the communication (how to get there, what to expect, etc.). For us novice canoers, they gave some great advice about which part of the river would be best.

My husband and I stayed here with our two adult children (19 and 21), my Dad and my brother and sister in law. It had lots of room for all of us. Having a separate suite for my brother and sister in law worked well for us. We were visiting family in Glace bay and the drive wasn’t too bad - about 40 mins. We saw a fox, a turtle, beavers and loons. Between trips to see family we had a few hours to ourselves and took advantage of the canoe and kayak. Even had a fire on the last night we were there even if it was a bit chilly outside. Rosie the dog who wandered over could be a therapy dog - love her. Kitchen had all we needed and beds were comfortable. Would definitely go back.

had a great time here with my friends for mid semester break. cute spot. little more isolated than expected but that kind of added fun to the experience. if you dont mind driving a little out of the way for things then this is perfect. the best aspects were the kayaks and fire pit. lots of wood for us to use as well. very comfortable beds and lots of choices for tv. overall great first time experience for us all in cape breton. would recommend to a friend.

What a beautiful location with lots of amenities. Everyone was kept busy with watercraft, animals, such as ducks, squirrels and eagles. Firepit was great in the evening. The cottage has everything, although the TV had Netflix, but no live shows, such as current news programs, which we missed. They had games, books, a/c, fireplace downstairs, etc. Super good. We met the owners, Kendra and Chris, when they came to replace the kitchen faucet the next day. Very nice people. Super accommodation for the price, even though 45 minutes from Sydney. Roads were very good. Highly recommended.
