The process was great with the responsiveness of the owner. The check in was very smooth, again, great communication with the owner. Once in the house, everything was excellent. As people said, the house was well stocked. We really appreciated the cleanliness and ease of use of all the amenities. The open floor plan was awesome. The location and views were spectacular. We enjoyed s’mores at the fire pit, grilling, listening to all the birds, kayaking, and we swam right in front everyday. There was great walking and biking in the surrounding area and the nearby beach was pristine. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay.

The property was perfect! Even though it was very hot while we were there, it was so great being able to sit inside with a book or puzzle and look out over the water view - just as if we were outside. It was only a short drive to many wineries, and many farm stands as well.

Our family of four had a wonderful week staying in Patrick's house on Goose Creek in Southold. The house and yard felt bigger and more open than we expected from the photos. We enjoyed splashing around on the tidal beach, paddling the creek in the kayaks, and making fires in the fire pit. We also loved exploring the North Fork from a central location. We can't wait to return to Southold and hope to stay on Goose Creek again!

Lovely end of summer escape on Goose Creek
Our family of four had a wonderful week staying in Patrick's house on Goose Creek in Southold. The house and yard felt bigger and more open than we expected from the photos. Wonderful stay in this beautiful home
My family had a lovely and peaceful week at this house. The view and the sunsets are so beautiful. My grandson had a great time running around in the large yard and seeing all the funny crabs on the beach. It was so nice to have the kayaks and everything that is provided in the house. We really just needed to pack our clothes! The house is amazingly well stocked with everything you might need. We love the decor and all of the windows. Marc was also a very kind and attentive property manager. Thank you again!

Gorgeous views and perfect for young children!
The Landing is a beautiful property with everything you need for a family vacation with small children. HUGE yard, water access with small sand beach with lots of crabs (which are crew dubbed crabby island lol) plus kayaks, multiple TVs, firepit and laundry on site. Kitchen is also well stocked and there's plenty of room inside and out for family meals. Wonderful experience overall!

A wonderful vacation
Three generations of our family have just returned from three wonderful weeks at The Landing. Our experience was “the best” even before we booked. Penelope kindly and graciously answered my accessibility questions and didn’t hesitate to accommodate our needs. After we arrived, our children and grandchildren happily worked and played each day, with plenty of space for everyone. The house itself is inviting, comfortable and spacious, and the yard is amazing. Our grandchildren loved playing tag, practicing gymnastics, or quietly reading under a tree. They also loved to watch the squirrels and rabbits who sometimes scampered across the lawn. Being right on the water was relaxing for all – taking out a canoe was the main activity several evenings. We even toasted marshmallows one night. Everything worked well in the kitchen, and we enjoyed having our own washing machine and dryer. In sum, this was a perfect vacation and respite from city life. We look forward to returning and highly recommend The Landing to all.

Perfect vacation cottage
We rented this cottage for a three week stay this spring. The pictures make the cottage and the property look really cute but the house is so much more. it has great personality, terrific cottage finishes, and Is stocked with everything you would need from games to great kitchen equipment to ample bedding and really comfortable furniture. The owner takes great care with it. The water are really stunning and can be seen from the walls of windows in the living room and sitting areas. If I could ever buy a cottage on Long Island this would be it!

Beautiful spot on the north fork. One can waste many an hour looking out the windows at Goose creek , watching the birds the boats going in and out of the bay. It’s a lovely home. And you will not want to leave. Great for children. Little sandy beach right in front for easy access to the water. Very comfortable. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen well equipped

I love Penel's house because I could lounge freely, cook, walk out to the little private beach and come back without stressing out that I might ruin something. Everything is super nice like a Pottery Barn Ad but it's done the way you would if you LIVED there. It's just got it all- a gigantic dining table for large oyster roasts and a cozy corner for sipping cocktails. The yard is large and the lighted trees out back are very cool and inviting. It's just a few minutes to Greenport which is growing more than anywhere in LI. I believe there are 3 famous NYC chefs opening new restaurants there THIS SPRING AND SUMMER.... Like now! It's a great base for enjoying the Hamptons too. You can take the ferry from Greenport right into Sag Harbor and bypass ALL the traffic coming in from NY. It really is a good location. Stay in Wine Country and ferry it to "line" country. LOL. You will love Penel's place. Tons of deer and wildlife, what more could you want??

Two Great Weeks!

A wonderful relaxing break by the water.
What a gorgeous spot to kick back & relax. We had been travelling from Australia and been on the move for 5 weeks, so to settle into this comfy cottage was heaven. The outlook over the sound, the spacious grounds and the serenity were perfect. Even though there were only the two of us we could see that this would be a fabulous place for a family group to gather. The kitchen was well equipped and the bar b q had a beautiful view to cook by. We just loved the whole area.Trips to the various villages, islands and beaches nearby were so enjoyable, fresh farmyard produce was delicious and then we discovered the vineyards! Wow, so many lovely estates and lovely wine. We especially loved Croteaux, which was close to the house, for its delicious Rose and also Raphael vineyard for its delicious wine, antipasta platters & friendly staff. Not having visited the area before we were absolutely fascinated by the architecture. Big & small, there were so many beautiful homes, it was a pleasure just to drive by and admire them.
I highly recommend The Landing, especially as a break from city life. A big thanks to Kate, our concierge who could not have been more helpful , meeting & greeting and checking back to make sure everything was fine. There are plenty of dining options in the area or you can stock up the pantry & bring some vino and just sit on the lawn & admire the view. We loved that option, so relaxing.

Great Summer Getaway
We were lucky enough to stay at The Landing in Southold for two weeks in August. Kate greeted us the first day with some great recommendations of local wineries, beaches, and restaurants. The home has a sprawling lawn where we enjoyed our morning coffee and breathtaking sunsets. We especially enjoyed taking the kayaks out. One kayak had disappeared prior to our arrival, but Penelope had arranged for a kayak for two to be delivered. We also took the bikes out a couple of times to explore the area. The house is warm, inviting, and decorated beautifully. The washer and dryer are located in the basement which you access from outside. It was no problem for us, but the basement steps may be a little tricky if you're not steady on your feet. We would definitely love to stay in this home again!

A relaxing hangout for the whole family
We had a wonderful time at The Landing! My family and my sister-in-law's family, including 4 kids ages 6-12, spent two weeks there this month. Penel was easy to work with and responsive to emails and last-minute questions. The house was clean and well-maintained upon our arrival. The location is quiet, pretty and close to the beach. We also spent lots of time swimming and kayaking in the creek just steps from the door. It was great for the kids to have the freedom to wander down to the water and play in the sand or pick up crabs, while we watched from the backyard. The living room and kitchen were perfect for a group our size. And we ate almost every meal at the huge outdoor table. We hope to spend another vacation there soon!

Don't if I can add much more then has already been said. This is a delightful summer cottage; the furniture invites you to put your feet up. Not fancy or stuffy. The creek is glorious. We swam went claming. It was hard to leave the property

North Folk waterfront escape
My family and I stayed here for one week but wished it had been longer. From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcome and at home. The home is conveniently located, to the major attractions and beaches the region has to offer. It was spacious, clean and tidy with good amenities. As a chef I found the kitchen a joy to cook in as it had everything I needed to cater for my family. We would love to stay here again.

Truly idyllic
This was our second year renting The Landing and I can't imagine a better property for the money. The setting is spectacular--we spent many hours just sitting in the backyard watching the birds. In addition to many interchangeable gulls and terns (sorry, gulls and terns), we made the acquaintance of a downy woodpecker working on one of the property's oak trees and an osprey who lived in a tree across the creek. The house itself is comfortable and tastefully furnished, the kitchen well equipped.

MY HEART SINGS WHEN I THINK OF THIS BEAUTIFUL HOME
We were blessed to stay in this beautiful home with our twin boys and my parents as part of our 2nd Honeymoon. We had already travelled through Europe and experienced many different types of holiday accommodation before we arrived at The Landing towards the end of our trip. This home and its stunning position took our breath away. It was everything that the photos had promised plus more. After moving from hotel room to hotel room it was absolute luxury to be able to spread out and all find our favourite little part of the home to chill. We loved having the well equipped kitchen where we could whip up some home cooked meals from produce we had gathered during the day. Although this is undoubtedly an ideal summer vacation house we were blessed to spend time there in winter shortly after Thanksgiving. We would come home to our warm and cozy home and thaw out from the day's elements. I'll never forget waking one morning to a dusting of snow across the lawn and beach and seeing two deer prancing along the waters edge past the house, one of those moments that makes your heart sing. We ferried to Shelter Island for dinner, another ferry trip and day trips to the various towns that make up "the Hamptons". We partook in beautiful wines with wine tasting at local wineries and soaked up the laid back and country town type atmosphere of the whole area. With pumpkins lining fences and farm stands offering in season produce we couldn't believe we were so close to Manhattan yet so far away in the differing experiences they offered. As an interior designer I really appreciated the collection of furnishings and decor items that had been assembled by the owners to provide a cozy and character filled environment. Such a lovely treat to be surrounded by pieces that had obviously been gathered over time and no doubt had their own stories to tell. We experienced all of the quintessential American food experiences with piled high pancake stacks, juicy burgers various berry pies from the local diners and cafes. We could see that every season in this stunning area would bring its own treasures and we'd love to go back and experience them all. My whole family enjoyed every part of our time in this beautiful home and all that the area had to offer. Memories of a lifetime were made with my family during our stay at The Landing. We would recommend this property to anyone wanting to experience the true local lifestyle of this beautiful part of the world.

I had my best vacation here
I took my family of 6 and one chil there for a week. The house is beautiful, we took thousands of pictures of the sunset and sunrise. Every night when we have dinner at the dinner table, the sunset is right there in the window. It's quiet and peaceful. I did Yoga in the backyard, spent hours on the hammock. The house is clean and updated, plenty of space for everyone to spread out. We even tried the kayaking provided by the onwer. Run to the nearest beach is about 20 minutes. Wish there is more than one kayak so the family can enjoy. Wonderful place, we are coming back for longer period next year!

Fantastic house with amazing views!
I stayed with my family in this wonderful house for seven nights and loved every minute of it. The pictures were exactly right, but seeing the house, in person, was so much better. The first night we sat outside on the lawn overlooking the creek with a glass of wine and chandelier overhead and couldn't believe our luck. It was heaven! The location is great with plenty of day trips and activities close by when we chose to leave. We actually loved staying in and strolling to the beach or paddling on the creek or trying our luck at clamming. The house was perfect for our needs and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
I highly recommend this house especially if you are looking for a relaxing gem! We can't wait to go back.

Perfect!
We just returned from a week at this perfect, restful spot in Southold. Reading by the water, sleeping in the hammock, exploring in the kayak, daily swims in the sandy beach a short stroll up the road, family dinners in Greenport outside on the docks at Crabby Jerry's, s'mores under stars by the fire pit, and sunsets and rock collecting at nearby Horton's Point. The house has everything you need and maximizes the beautiful view with terrific windows running along the entire front of the house. Even the outdoor shower was great - with plenty of power and lots of hot water! Highly recommend for a relaxing family getaway.

Blissful
Another blissful stay at this lovely home in Southold. It is truly one of the most relaxing places on earth. My girls love exploring the creek and the constant activities from the wild life around. Yesterday afternoon there was an Osprey perched on one of the trees of the property eating a fish he had just caught! The adirondacks on the shaded grass are a favorite spot too! This is really a special spot.

2nd year in a row! We Love it!
The North Fork is that hidden gem you don't want anyone to find out because then it will be crowded and crazy like the Hamptons! But this house is in an ideal location on a beautiful creek. We love coming here and the owners have done a lovely job with the house. The yard is massive and the access to the water at probably 20 steps from the front door. It's a place were relaxation is a constant (I've spent many hours at that hammock!) . Choose your water toy: kayak, paddle boards, rental boat all either in the house or a phonecall away. Grill your food: either shellfish or meat! Enjoy the amazingness that is the North Fork corn, their wine and deliciousness from local farms. What else can you ask for? HEAVEN!
