Located in Sierra Nevada, this attractive house for $610 per night is a great option for your next break. This property is a perfect blend of rural, coastal and luxury. Sitting on a commanding promontory 800 feet above the valleys that surround it, this two bedroom ranch home has epic views in every direction. The folds of the commanding Santa Lucia Mountains back Cinnabar Ranch and the Pacific Ocean sets the western panorama with 40 miles of wild coastline on view. Located on 80 private acres, there is both room to roam and space to gain from the rest of the world. You could have a perfectly lovely stay without ever leaving the property, but if the allure of the town (Cambria), the coast or Hearst Castle call to you, everything is just a brief drive away. You'll want to be back here for at least one sunset as the location is set up to provide quite a show. At the ranch the night sky is typically deep black and spectacularly full of stars. Enjoy a glass of wine on the patio and reminisce about the day. A nature walk from the house can be a fine activity. See cows grazing down in the valley, critters roaming the grounds, or hawks and vultures circling overhead. Board game inside or yard game outside? How about a hammock and a good book? For more modern engagements, there is high speed internet and TV. Within a very short drive you can enjoy local wine tasting, horseback riding and so much more. The quaint town of Cambria has a variety of restaurants, unique shops and art galleries. And, of course, the famous Moonstone Beach is yours to explore.

The house was beautiful, beds were super comfortable and the kitchen very well stocked. We were there for Christmas and I had no trouble preparing our holiday meal. You are off the main road a bit so if you do not like rural driving be prepared, but if you do it is so worth it. My family had a wonderful stay and if we return to the area would love to stay here again.

This property is an absolute dream! You won’t find a more magical location in Cambria. We needed to get away from the overwhelming hustle bustle of Orange County and cinnabar ranch did the trick. The views are astounding and our only neighbors were the cows and quails. Don’t let the home’s remoteness scare you off. While it feels like you are in the middle of blessed nowhere, the drive to town is maybe only five minutes. While the house is beautiful, well appointed and oh so comfy, the jewel in its crown is that it was almost completely accessible! My mother is legally blind and has mobility issues and aside from one tiny step into the shower, the house was totally flat and a breeze for her to navigate. We couldn’t have had a better time and immediately booked our next stay!

Secluded, comfortable, and serene. Great kitchen and living room. Comfortable beds, ample privacy if staying with another couple or family members. An overall pleasant stay. The views and privacy make up for any amenities that may be lacking. Cambria and the central coast generally have water restrictions, so low pressure showers are to be expected. Definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a unique vacation rental.

The property is accurately described. If you are looking for great views, a quiet stay, only birds and cows for neighbors, this is where you want to be! Benefits include a great house, well equipped kitchen and stocked pantry, incredible views, and no city noise. But when you want to get to Cambria, it only takes 10 minutes. If you have stayed in Cambria before, you know it can be cool and foggy. It's warmer up in the hills and several mornings I was enjoying my coffee and the sun while looking down on foggy Cambria. Overall a great place to stay.

This is how the rich and famous live. Private house up a hill with unbelievable views in every direction. Each sunrise and sunset was a different adventure. The house is spacious and well appointed, and you don't need to venture out much, just sit back and enjoy the views. The only question I have was about the home details on VRBO and the suggestion that a nature walk can be a fine activity. I got the feeling that they wanted you to stay on the 1+ acre property surrounding the house, not walk down the road and off the property. The only other complaint was that the sliding glass doors were a struggle to open (one did not lock) and the screen doors were needing screen replacement. I still gave the property 5 stars (more if possible), and would definitely return again. When split with 2 couples, this is a fantastic value. Thanks to the owners for providing detailed instructions upon arrival and after our stay!

Beautiful house with huge master bedroom/bath/closet and big guest bedroom with separate bath. Large, well equipped kitchen and pantry. Beautiful grounds with spectacular views. Can be windy, but get great eye to eye contact with hawks and other wildlife. Even with a 115 pound dog, plenty of room and was made very welcome. Absolutely loved our stay

Simply a spectacular view out to the velvetty fog that hugged the coastline during the day and seeped into the coastal Santa Rosa Creek valley at night. The silver light of the full moon reflected eerily off the blanket of fog in the valleys creating an otherworld experience that inspired as well as comforted.
We swore the VRBO website said hot tub so we were a bit disappointed that was not there and we had to buy vinegar to clean the scaling of the coffee maker, but those minor inconveniences did not hinder the charm and quality of the house. Two bedrooms and lots of living space, but hardly needed as we spent all of our awake hours outside.
This is a definite house to which we will return.

Couldn’t have been more pleased with this set up. Yes it’s a few minutes away from town but worth it! Once you are at the house you won’t want to leave. If you have dogs it’s perfect for them also. We even named the eagle that kept flying by daily. Ocean view. Lighthouse can be seen. Plus the steer and cows right there! You get it all.

I stayed here with my visiting parents and small dog for a long weekend. The setting could not have been more gorgeous. The pictures in the listing didn’t do the view justice! The house was very comfortable and well appointed. It was in a great centralized location, and we were able to explore Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, and Cambria. I’d love to come back!

The phenomenal views and sublime quietness of the property were wonderful. The house is well stocked with everything you may need. Small disappointment that guests are unable to take a walk along the road to the house due to surrounding property owners, but it's a quick drive to Cambria. Definitely recommend.

I really can’t say enough positive things about this property. The house is beautiful, very well equipped, and the perfect size for 2 people or even 2 couples. The property owner was helpful, responsive and provided excellent instruction but did not intrude on our stay. But the best part was the jaw dropping 360 degree views of the Cambria hillsides…simply amazing! Our 1 week stay in this house was worth every penny and I promise that you won’t be disappointed!
It is a few miles out of town on a country road and you have to go in and out of a key locked farm gate every time you come/go. But I’m only adding this to my review for information…whatever “inconvenience” it causes is certainly outweighed by the sheer beauty of this property!

The view alone is worth it. Add to that the cows on the hillsides, the huge birds rising on the thermals right outside the kitchen window, and the mystery of what each morning will look like from walking out into what seems like a Marshmallow of fog to glimpsing Morro rock in the far distance, this place does not disappoint. This rental is in my very top shelf of experiences.

One of the best views in any rental we’ve stayed at, you have an stunning, clear panoramic tableau of the hills outside Cambria all the way to the ocean. Spectacular and the sunset is ridiculous! The furnishings and the rental itself are top-notch. The kitchen is fully stocked with whatever you might need to cook with or for the gas grill outside. The spot is nice and remote, in the hills above Cambria, perfect for a romantic getaway and wine tasting
but you’re still about 10-15 minutes from Main Street Cambria if you want to take in the shops or Moonstone Beach. Hosts are very attentive if you need anything - we’ll definitely be back!

Perched on top of a hill, there are 360 degree views of the hills, the oceans, the sunrise and the sunset. The living area and kitchen are perfect for a family and cooking. The outdoor areas are incredible for star gazing. We miss this special home and the long horn cow family that surrounded us already and look forward to returning again.

We rented this home for a month to escape the heat of the Sierra foothills. We had two labradors, and my sister who visited for a few days also had two labradors. The fenced yard was ideal for dogs. The kitchen area is perfect. Best equipped I have ever stayed in. We had a brief issue with the washer, which was fixed the next day. The views toward the west are amazing. I would strongly recommend this property. Can't get much better. A dream escape!

Bram and Jesse were very accommodating hosts. The property was magnificent, beyond our expectations. Remote and beautiful, we were surrounded by nature. This house met all of our needs. Clean, comfortable, great amenities, and what a view. We spent more time on the patio than in the house. Spectacular daytime views, with amazing sunsets, and more stars at night than you can imagine. Superb!

The views are spectacular: Sunrise over the hills, sunset over the ocean, and the Milky Way at night. It’s quiet, with only the sounds of birdsong and the occasional moo of a distant cow. Less than five miles from Cambria, but it seems blissfully remote.
The house is lovely, affords privacy for two couples, has a beautiful kitchen with excellent utensils, and there is lots of comfortable living space, indoors and out. My all-time favorite rental.
(We had hoped to do a lot of hiking, and one of our party was training for a marathon and had planned to run a lot, but there is limited access to the privately owned roads, so that wasn’t possible.
Pro tip: I don’t recommend trying to find the place after dark.)

This was our second time staying here, and it was amazing. Issues we’d mentioned from our last stay were fixed — AC in the house that helps with the heat from the afternoon sun and heating units in case it got chilly. The beds were comfortable, it was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen is one of the best-stocked of any rental I’ve stayed in recently. We would have extended our stay if available and will definitely be back!

Amazing location if you want to get away from it all and still be close to the beaches, hiking and wine tasting. Beautiful sunsets and a great view of the stars and milky way due to very little light pollution. The ranch was comfortable and well stocked with everything we would want on a getaway.
