A haven of tranquillity in beautiful surroundings and wonderful hosts.

We loved everything. The beautiful house and gardens (definitely very high on our best of the best list), the friendliness, impeccable taste and all round good nature of Peter and Serge, who are wonderful and engaging hosts. Not forgetting the plancha (we want one!) and the swimming pool and terrace.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave!

EVERYTHING. This place is beautiful, the bedrooms are so well maintained and comfortable! Serge and Peter are AMAZING, super friendly and hospitable. I wish my husband and I could stay for longer, we’ll definitely be back 🥰

A fantastic stay!

The garden was beautiful and the rooms were exquisite. We got so much help from Serge and Peter and the breakfast was marvellous. Thank you for a wonderful time in Dordogne!

Domaine des Monges was the perfect haven to return to after a hard day's sightseeing.

Beautifully appointed rooms with good shower facilities. The delicious breakfasts will set you up for the whole day of touring the delights of this region. Really enjoyed using the pool. Appreciated the touring tips and restaurant recommendations too by the lovely hosts. We highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful haven.

A Slice of Heaven on Earth

The domaine is located in a peaceful quiet area. It is tranquil. The house itself is stunning. Beautifully decorated and littered with antiques. Peter and Serge are amazing hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. They provided us with an incredible breakfast each morning, with fresh orange juice, home made jams and even bacon and eggs (which as a couple of Brits was most welcome). The bed was so comfortable. The pool and gardens, a slice of heaven. In short, it's the best B & B we have stayed in! The pictures do not do it justice.... we will be back!

We hated leaving! 2 nights was not enough.

If you like to be spoiled….This is the place for you

This accommodation was the ultimate in perfection. A warm welcome, the room and sitting room was like stepping back in time beautiful decor and very comfortable. It had beautiful manicured gardens and a wonderful pool. Located right on the river. Breakfast was to die for.

A French dream!

Look nowhere else if visiting the region!

This is by far the best place we have stayed and we could not have wished for anything more for a relaxing holiday in the French countryside. The hosts, Peter and Serge, were so accommodating and recommended us fantastic local places to eat in the evenings as well as things to do, and the house itself was honestly perfect - grand yet homely, looking out directly onto the river with so much open space to go for a walk, read, and stargaze. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the breakfasts were really superb. The amazing location meant that it was never more than a short drive from all the nearby local attractions: Bergerac, St Emilion, Bordeaux. We would not hesitate to come back (especially to see the place in the summer) and would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting the region.

My girlfiend and me have been to lots of different places now, but never were we as satisfied as we were at Domaine Des Monges. The room was hugh and the bathroom as well. It also was lovley decorated and clean. The whole house - or rather castle - is arranged in antique style but still all the technical features worked perfectly. An other highlight was the breakfast. Everything was delicious. We even got our breakfast egg from the hens which belong to the Domaine. The garden is also absolutely amazing. Hugh, directly next to the river, a pool, a small hut for barbecue, and on and on and on. And not to forget to mention the great hosts. Serge and Peter are just more than friendly and helpful. Thank you once again - you are amazing!

Had a fabulous five nights staying with Peter and Serge, they are fabulous hosts who complement each other so well. The house, gardens and pool are so tranquil and always available for you to enjoy. The breakfast is also extremely good with fresh produce and attention to detail. Thank you so much we will be back!

Beautiful, huge property at the river with a wonderful garden and big swimming pool. Peter and Serge were great hosts, very welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home. You can see and feel the love ans passion they put into every detail of their stunning home. The breakfast ist very nice with fresh and local products, eggs from their own chickens and honey from their bees. We loved it and would choose Domaine des Monges again.
