Hayden Lake may not be the biggest lake in Idaho, but its shoreline is some of the most coveted real estate in the region. What’s nearby: This lovely home is about 25 minutes north of scenic Coeur d'Alene where you'll not only find some great places to shop, you'll have your choice of over a hundred eateries, so choose wisely. If you've got the boat, this is the place for you. There are two boat launches on Hayden Lake. Kids and adults can have hours of fun just swimming off the private dock right by the home. The lake also offers opportunities for fishing, wakeboarding, kayaking, and swimming. Other popular area activities include hiking, biking, and golfing. The closest green is Avondale Golf Course, about five miles away. In winter, Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg is just under 50 miles east. And if you want dinner out, you'll have a number of restaurants within a few miles' drive to choose from. Things to know: Free WiFi Dogs welcome! Full kitchen If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. We came out for the week leading up to Labor Day and the house did not disappoint, its in a great spot not having to drive around the lake, quick easy access to town, fishing right off the dock which was big and had room for both boats we had with us. Some of the kids were starting online school and there was always quite space for them. Loved the house and will come back.

The Good...
The views from almost every room in the cabin are amazing! You are right on the lake! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make any meal. There are games, books, and videos to spend some family time together. If you have a small child (we didn't) it looked like there were some basics (chair, potty etc) to use.
The Bad...
The master bedroom bed was rock hard. I mean ROCK hard so bad in fact that my husband and I found sleeping on the small pull out couch was more comfortable than the master bed. The master bedroom also had no place to put a suitcase or clothing. There was no dresser or drawers to unpack our clothes. The closet was locked (owners personal stuff). If you are like me and like to unpack your items when you arrive this would not be a great place for you. It made me feel unorganized for our entire stay having to get everything in and out of the suitcases which sat on the floor the entire vacation. The master bathroom has carpet in the bathroom. I wore my shoes into the water closet as it was a little strange to have carpet under the toilet, but tile next to the shower???

This house is built on a downward slope so there are three stories of the home. When you walk in from the garage (street level) you walk into a small office area and then into the master bedroom sitting area and into the master bedroom all of which have no doors. Everything is very broken up with lots of walls to separate rooms but no doors to close. The second floor has the kitchen, bathroom, dinning room, living room, and TV room. This is not one big open space as it is broken up into separate rooms with walls or the large fireplace. This was hard for us as we all wanted to be together but one room was not big enough to host all of us at the same time (there were 8 of us total). The living room has one smaller couch facing the fireplace (no TV) why it was not facing the amazing lake view I'm not sure? The bathroom on this floor has an oddly placed toilet between the vanity and the bathtub/shower but so close to the vanity I hit the back of my shoulder every time I sat down.
The bottom floor was fine with 3 bedrooms and a small living space.
Overall the house was okay. The views were amazing. We did not have any issues with water pressure as previous reviews stated. For the money we paid I might have searched for another lake front house where I could unpack and get a good night's sleep.

It was 6 ladies that work together that love one another enough to spend a few days away from work relaxing and enjoying the beautiful and comfortable surroundings.
Very clean and well stocked. We had a great time. The view was so relaxing, and watching to boats and skiers go by made it even better. Very quiet.

Gorgeous and relaxing
My family and I spent time at this beautiful lakehome for 5 days. It was incredibly relaxing with a great view and the house was perfect. Everything you need is provided, and then some. There were plenty of games for my young children as well as books and classic Disney movies. The house was clean and well maintained. We will recommend The Starling Lakehouse to family and friends.

Great Vacation!
Nice private lake house with plenty of room. Not too far from restaurants and fun things to do. Loved being able to walk down to dock and fish. Only suggestion I have would be to maybe add a crib or pack-n-play for young children. Baby gates and high chair were a big help. Would definitely stay again!

VERY family friendly!
We had 6 adults and 2 children, 3 years old and the other 5 months. This home had baby gates and a small table chair for the baby! The kitchen is well stocked and very open for people to move around in. We had plenty of space at the dining table and the view is priceless! I highly recommend this home!

Great Lake House
The house was lovely and room enough for seven of us. Had a slight problem with hot water that was quickly remedied with one email on thanksgiving day. Did have to purchase firewood, as there was not any provided to start with. The house is roomy and beautiful when it snowed with wonderful lake views. Would definitely recommend this lake house!!

Beautiful spot on the lake
Would definitely stay here again. Very close to Silverwood Theme Park which is why we were there. Unfortunately we were looking forward to sitting around a firepit but it was gone. Some minor upkeep items that need to be addressed within the house but other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

The view was extraordinary! Everything we needed was there, it was very clean, comfortable and the 3 stories provided privacy when needed for all 7 of us adults. We so enjoyed your home and the time with our family while there.

Clean and Fabulous!
My Sister and I and our adult children were at this home for 3 nights. What a fabulous experience! The home was roomy enough for all 7 of us and overlooked beautiful views of Hayden Lake. We were also impressed by the cleanliness when we arrived. The surrounding area is quiet, inviting and peaceful...very private as well. Hope to see you again!

An upscale home on the lake. Had none of the problems mentioned in other reviews with the water quality or pressure, all was fine despite bringing drinking water just in case. Everything as advertised except cleanliness had a bit to be desired in that there was animal hair that was missed by the cleaning crew. We still had a great time & would come back again.

Power Outage Impacts Stay

We stayed at the Starling House with our children and another couple with their children (children were all under 7). The house was very spacious, with amazing views out of every window. The kids enjoyed the TV room on the main floor while the adults made breakfast in the fully stocked kitchen. Coffee was enjoyed on one of the many decks with spectacular views, we loved the quiet!
Afternoons were spent boating, tubing and enjoying lunch and beverages at the nearby "Boathouse Restaurant."
Kids had a blast fishing off the well maintained dock at the house. The Blue Gill fish were so abundant, you cast a worm in and within 5 seconds, you had a fish hooked. The kids were in heaven!
Great location as it's only 15 minutes to Silverwood Amusement Park where we spent one of our afternoons.
I would also recommend eating at a restaurant nearby (about 5 minutes) called "The Porch." The best pork tacos we've ever had, great drinks, and kid friendly!
Warning, the house has a lot of stairs which did not bother us at all but I would not recommend this house if stairs are an issue.
All an all, we had a wonderful vacation. The house was beautiful, clean and fully stocked with great amenities.

Had a wonderful vacation at the Starling house with friends n family, by far the best kitchen accommodations I've experienced in a vacation rental. The dock was great to have with kids boating and swimming till late in the evening.

We stayed here for a family reunion in CDA , with 6 adults and 3 kids. The house was spacious and had great amenities. It felt like we were in a "Home" and not a rental. The views were spectacular and there was plenty of deck space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the day. This house is very private and gives the feeling of being the only house on the lake! We will defiantly stay here again on our next trip!!

This house was Amazing! We hated to leave. Being right on the lake was great! Kids loved jumping off the dock! The house was very clean and stocked with more than we needed! So much room for the whole gang! We made some amazing memories there and we can't wait to come back next summerâ¤ï¸

Just returned home from a wonderful stay at the Starling Lake House. Spacious and had everything you need for a good time. A lot of games and videos to use. GREAT kitchen with top of the line appliances. This place is a bargain!
