You can even rent a funcycle and explore the sand on two wheels. The downtown area is great for art lovers, foodies, and anyone who likes browsing unique shops. Pick up a bottle of wine at the Picnic Basket for that evenings dinner or a bottle of artisan gin at the Cannon Beach Distillery for cocktails on the patio. Find a beach read at the Cannon Beach Book Company, take a cooking class at EVOO Cooking School, or just spend the day browsing galleries. I stayed at this cottage with my small dog for a little under a month, and it was fantastic. The location is close to everything but the area still felt secure and quiet. The beach is just a block away, and dense woods are a few blocks in the other direction. It was great to have an off-street parking spot. The cleanliness when I checked in could have been better, but it wouldn’t have been convenient to call cleaners to come over and do it for me, so I just tidied up myself. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Compact but meets essential needs.

The property was very nice and roomy enough for two.
Access to the beach and downtown both just a short walk.
We'd stay here again.

Dirty windows (I cleaned them)
Grime around the bathroom floor
(I cleaned them)
Couch did not look clean
I covered it with my own blanket
It was a cute place but not a good feeling with the lack of attention to detail

Small, clean, and well-appointed. Convenient to everything in Cannon Beach, just park and walk. Only thing lacking is a view.

Cozy cottage
We love this cottage. It’s cozy, close to town and the beach. Always well kept, (bed and pillows are a little firm), but really no complaints.

We loved the location of this property. It was convenient to downtown shops and restaurants and had beach access across the street. It was small but had everything two people would need to enjoy this property. This unit had a grill outside which was really nice to have. The only negative was that we arrived late in the evening and the directions for the lock box were very difficult. There has to be a better system than this to get in. Other than that it was a perfect place for us to enjoy our beach vacation. We would love to go back again soon!

Great little place!
This place is a block off the beach and a couple of blocks south of the downtown area. Having 60 degree temperatures and clear skies for most of the second week of October made it even better. It's not a sprawling palatial villa, but served the two of us and our Schnauzer just fine.

Tiny but convenient and comfy.
Really cute love it. Very close to the beach. But you'll find the occasional illegal parker in your spot. Close to a park, easy walk to the stores, and restaurants.

Great long weekend escape!
A cozy cottage for a much needed getaway. Perfectly situated to get to the beach, walk to the shops, or explore the hiking trails.

Cannon Beach two week retreat
Great location, exactly half way between the two commercial areas of Cannon Beach. Though located on the main street, this unit is behind another unit on the street so it is quiet. And when the fog lifted we could sit on our patio and see the ocean that is a block or so away.
The cons were that the room wasn't cleaned as well as it should have been prior to our arrival (we found dirty socks from prior guest(s) in two different areas of the unit). The bathroom could use a couple more hooks or another rack for clothes, etc. The bathroom sink was running slow. And coming from a four bedroom house it took us about a week to adjust to about 300 square feet.
All in all a good visit to one of our favorite places.

Solo Trip
I ended a serious relationship late January and decided I needed a trip away from the daily norm. So I planned my trip almost 4 months in advance and I saw pictures of the property and how close it was to the beach and I thought to myself 'Yes! I need this place.'
I loved, loved my stay at my little suite 9. I slept well every night, had hot water everyday and was able to walk/take the city bus where ever I wanted to go. I am definitely going to stay again. Suite 9 and Cannon Beach is what my heart and mind needed.

Lovely house
This is a great little cottage to stay in for a couple. It has everything you need for a weekend getaway, is quiet and pleasant, walking distance to the beach, and with easy/responsive management.
It's small but cozy with a comfortable sofa and bed. The sofa could be a bed for an additional person, but frankly it would be pretty tight for an adult -- I wouldn't recommend except for a kid. The kitchen is very, very well equipped, with baking and cooking equipment and plenty of plates and dishes. TV has cable and DVD player, and wifi is available. Housekeeping left multiple days worth of towels and toiletries for us, along with tea, coffee, and new sponges and clean dishtowels for the sink. Especially in the winter, things can be damp and slow to dry at Cannon Beach, but we found the heaters in the house were super powerful and kept us warm and dry throughout the weekend. Overall, would recommend! Great little cottage.

Great location but you can probably find a more comfortable place

I had no comfortable furniture to sit on. You could only enter or leave the bed on one side.
See above and add that it was a terrific location.

Small but clean and well appointed
The cottage is small and feels a little cave-like but it was very clean and well appointed (except that there was no hair dryer). We had everything we needed for making meals and the appliances were very nice. The small porch and yard was great for the dog and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening even though there is no view of the ocean. If you intend on using the twin sofa bed in the main room be aware that it is not a hide-a-bed, you are sleeping directly on the sofa so you either have to unmake and remake it every night or sit on the bedding during the day. The location is very close to the beach and it is an easy walk into the town. I wouldn't stay here again because of the price. This was a last minute rental but with a little time and research you could easily find a larger house for less money.

Lovely cottage near the sea
Captains Cove has been a place of respite for me two separate times. I retreated there for a month, two years ago and found my balance in life again. Though tiny, there is a welcoming presence and it is an inviting space. The lack of big windows doesn't take away from a feeling of light, and encourages one to take long walks on the beach, or enjoy the sites, smells and tastes of town. If you leave the front door and walk down Jefferson to the ocean, be sure to look up. On a pole just to the entrance of the beach is a painted sign that says, "Breathe." That is the invitation to Cannon Beach and this tiny cottage.

Small but cozy and well-equipped!
The Captain's Cottage was perfect for two of us, and Vacasa kitted it out exceptionally well--a several-day supply of towels (useful when things don't dry because of humidity), soap for the kitchen, the bath sink *and * the shower, a wonderfully-equipped kitchen, and extra blankets and pillows.
The only thing I'd say--if you're there any time but high summer, bring slippers, as the floors were surprisingly cold!
It is a little small, but if you're in Cannon Beach you won't likely be in it for much more than an evening... there's a lot to do! We didn't take advantage of the charcoal grill out front, but if the weather's good, do--there's a terrific seafood place (Ecola Seafoods) in town to buy really fresh fish.
We were really happy with the Captain's Cottage, and would come back there specifically, and would *definitely* stay in a Vacasa property again.

Small and cozy, but close to everything!
We spent four days in this lovely cottage--it's small, but we didn't need that much space for two of us. More than two would be tight, though--the couch is more or less a daybed, but I don't think it would be that comfortable to sleep on.
It's well-insulated--it stayed warm even after we'd turned the wall heaters off, and we never heard anything from the folks on the other side of the living room wall (the cottage shares a wall with another cottage, though I believe there's a cleaning room in between). The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped, although a larger cutting board would be nice to have. The wi-fi worked perfectly, the a/v setup was great for watching movies in the evening, and the bed was very comfortable. One tip--do bring slippers anytime but high summer, as even with the heater the floors are quite chilly! But we had extra towels (which were really helpful, as since it was near the coast and humid, they never quite dried all the way), extra blankets and pillows--thanks, Vacasa, for thinking of all of that!
You're only a couple blocks from the north section of Cannon Beach for breakfast or shopping, and half a block from the beach. Everything is walkable, easily. Don't miss the Cannon Beach Hardware Store & Pub for dinner--after all, how often can you eat in a hardware store? We also really liked Sweet Basil's for dinner.

Spring Visit
Great location: 3-5 short blocks from center of town, 2 blocks from beach. Small cottage - good for a couple.

Small but close to beach and !
Although the cottage is on the small size, for as much as we were there it was great. The proximity to the beach , walking into town and even south of town, makes the location superior. Good kitchen amenities are provided-there is a microwave and toaster too plus a full size refrigerator.

Affordable, Comfortable and Pet-friendly!
The cabin was clean and well-appointed. There was even a basket of treats and supplies (pet towels, dishes, biscuits) for my dog upon arrival. It was so lovely to find a truly affordable place to stay that was so welcoming to my dog. And to be able to see the ocean from our doorstep meant we could go for multiple walks daily on the beach. Great stay!

Always Vacasa
If your ok with small and cozy this place is for you. One nice thing is you do not have another guest directly attached. Very quite. At night open the windows and sleep to the sound of the ocean in the distance.

Great location and had everything we needed for a long weekend getaway. Only one block from the beach and a quick walk to downtown where you can find many dining options. The place was clean and met our expectations, I would definitely stay here again. (only negative was that there was not a hairdryer provided so bring your own if you are like me and need one)

More then I expected, and nicely located. 1 Block from the beach, and about a 1/4 from town center, parked the car and never moved it all weekend. Kitchen, TV area and bedroom all perfectly sized for 2. Will definitely look to rent here before anywhere else. Only thing I would like changed is moving he check in time up to 3pm so there is enough time to relax before hitting the town before dinner.

Very easy to rent and only one block from the beach! Our only negative comment is that the bed is quite hard. I would stay there again!

Small but cozy cottage. Limited amenities but a pleasant enough place for a quite getaway. Best part was central location and easy access to all Cannon Beach has to offer..
