The property location is absolutely perfect for many reasons…. 1). All trailheads are within 15 minutes. We hiked Beehive, Jordan Cliffs, Beech Cliffs, and South Bubble. 2). Right on Somes Sound so every morning you wake up to an incredible view of the water (I would remove a branch or 2 to open up the view a bit more). It was September so we took one icy dip (Somes Sound Challenge) but enjoyed the rocks and searching for shells and other treasures. 3). Close to all the great Lobster Pounds. Our favorite was C-Rays. The house is small but perfect for our family of 5. The kids (6,9,11) loved having the second floor all to themselves. No rails on bunk beds so they spread out on the 4 ground level beds. Nice bathroom for them on that floor as well. Kitchen is loaded if you like to cook. Only thing missing was a microwave which would help when trying to heat up those amazing lobster pound leftovers. Plenty of games (checkers, backgammon, etc) to stay busy at nights. There is a TV but we never turned it on. Great wood stove in the main family room we used frequently. Kids loved the outdoor deck shower. Plenty of deck furniture, grill, etc. We spent a lot of time in the afternoon enjoying the deck space with a cold beer after the crazy iron rung hikes. Angela was awesome to work with. She left lights on for us as she knew we were arriving after dark and was super responsive to our questions prior and during through email and text.

A perfectly quaint cottage on the sound with every amenity you need for a relaxing stay. We loved the big deck to enjoy the sounds of the water (and seals!) and had everything we needed (and more) in the house. Angela was a great host - very responsive and offered excellent recommendations. Location is conveniently located to everything on the island. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful location and very friendly host
Wonderful location and very friendly host
The location is almost as good as it gets if you want to be right near the national park as well as close to Bar Harbor for shopping, food, etc. The views, all day long are pretty and peaceful. We did a lot of hiking, biking and eating. The home itself is odd and Angela is more than willing to admit that. It's like someone took the 1970s and gave it a little nudge with an Internet connection. It's not that things were were broken or unusable, more that it felt like they were young antiques :). It was almost anachronistic. You have to see it to understand. We were only two people so there was more than enough room. I think it would've been fine for a family of 4-6 and stretching it for much more. If you don't mind not having a microwave or a TV (the listing says there's a TV but not that we saw), you'll be fine. The host is incredibly nice and acts as I would if I were a host; as a friendly person providing a home for people to enjoy, rather than being a stiff landlord. We had nice conversations with her on the way in and on the way out,

We just returned from a great week at Mt. Desert Island and Acadia. We were lucky enough to stay at this lovely home. The house is close enough to everything but also a beautiful, serene home base away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. Angela was very helpful and attentive. Would absolutely stay again.
