Door County Cabin on the Water
About this house rental
Situated in Door County, this attractive house for $401 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. This is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage/cabin on the navigable creek just off of Sawyer Harbor. Right down the road from Potawatomi State Park and Idlewild Golf Course. This location is 10 minutes from downtown Sturgeon Bay. Just a short drive to wineries and other Door County fun! There is a boat launch and a boat port on the property, so bring your boat if you'd like (small boats only)! Great fishing area for walleye, northern and musky! We have 2 single kayaks and one 17' canoe available for rent! We also have 4 adult mountain bikes and 2 adolescent bikes available for rent! Please inquire for more details on the rental equipment. Our fire pit down by the creek makes for a great night of s'mores and pudgy pies. Our back patio area is also great for enjoying the sunset and awesome wildlife views. There is a queen bed, full bed, four twin beds (2 bunk beds) and one pull-out couch. Our home can sleep up to 6 adults and 4 children. No cleaning fish in the house. No bachelor/bachelorette parties. No pets of any kind. Please be aware that cell service is not the best in our area. We do have WiFi! We have a 22" charcoal grill onsite for guests to use. Grill brushes and utensils are provided. You must bring your own charcoal. Please clean grill grate after each use. We are asking that guests please use the public boat launch down the road if the ground leading to our launch is noticeably very wet and soft due to the water level being high -or- if the water level is too low. We had a great location for relaxing and enjoying activities in Door County while also having downtime at the cottage. It was remote enough to feel out in the country but close enough to all our events. Special bonus to enjoy Kayaks, canoe, campfires, bikes, and grilling. Highly recommend to others.

We had a nice time exploring Door County from this cabin. It worked great for the family and they had plenty of board games to entertain us several times. The back porch is great for a BBQ and evening meal outside.

Quiet well appointed cabin. Nature abounds in the backyard with great deck and fire pit with western views. Sunsets and frogs singing all night. Can’t wait to book it again.

Close to Sturgeon Bay and all of Door County. The house had everything we needed, but a strange layout. Fire pit and view of the wetlands exceptional.

We wanted a space for our family to stay for a long weekend where we could be together, have easy access to waterfront and hiking, but separate from the hustle and bustle. We were not disappointed and appreciated the available games, outdoor gathering spaces, and amenities.

Perfect forest vibes - the Cyprus Trees are lovely.

Great location although it smelled like mold when we stepped in. It did air out after a day or so. No side effects from my elderly father.

The quiet, isolated feel of this cozy cabin was perfect for our stay. The availability of kayaks and bicycles is a strong plus. We so enjoyed sunrise/sunset paddling out in the bay as well as biking through the state park into town center amenities. Cabin was cozy and clean with all the amenities and Rachel was a great facilitator/communicator. One suggestion would be screens for the bedroom windows to keep bugs out while enjoying the cool night breezes. Otherwise - FANTASTIC

Nice and quiet, secluded area with a great firepit that everyone enjoyed. The house could have used a bit more cleaning upon our arrival but it was manageable. 3 separate bedrooms with comfortable beds were a great plus. Overall we have enjoyed our stay there and would come back again.

Very positive experience. The location is amazing. Even though the property is located between two other houses, you still have a sense of complete isolation. Amazing views as well. The sky burning sunsets right at the waterfront with a bonfire will make you not even want to go inside. Speaking of the inside, great amenities. We had all the tools needed to bake a bread, a pizza, and grill outside. Additionally, the host also offers rental of kayaks or bikes which is super convenient. Board games available as well. Perfectly outfitted house for a family or friend getaway. The host was responsive and informative as well. Strongly recommend this place.

We took our kids here for the weekend at the end of the school year to mark the end of being stuck in the house for a year. My son loves the outdoors - so having access to the water, kayaks, a beautiful fire-pit was great. Daughter is starting to head into teen territory so she would describe this as a bit rustic for her standards, but this trip wasn't for her anyway. She enjoyed the shelf full of games, which was a nice touch. Unattended access worked great, talked to the host just a couple of days before to get access to the rental kayaks, which prevented me from having to haul much gear up. New air conditioner in the living room worked great when the afternoons got hot. Kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal, great patio - I really like the indoor/outdoor experience. Good balance between rustic, with some modern touches. Also, note that we had to ask for a schedule change because of conflicting work schedules - the host immediately accommodated this with other dates that were available - no increase in fees, and very nice about it. Overall it was a really nice experience for us.

Rachel was fantastic to work with and was always prompt to reply to our questions. The location is absolutely perfect and very secluded. If you’re like us and like the privacy and country living with tons of wildlife you will not regret renting this cabin. The view and peace and quiet are like none other in the area. The private landing and boat lift made our fishing a breeze and was super convenient. Fire pit area was awesome for relaxing at night and having s’mores. For those reading other reviews she has a grill now too. Ample room for guests. Just a great location-1/4 mile to the main bay, 10 minutes to downtown sturgeon bay and a nice little drive to wineries and shops as well! This cabin has everything you could need. We will be back and renting from Rachel in the future!

Nice Vacation
Kids loved the ability to have a fire, kayak and canoe. Everything was as listed, no surprises. A little far to the Door County towns (Fish Creek, Sister Bay etc.), but overall a nice place and would consider renting again.

peace & quiet
This is a perfect cabin for anyone who enjoys fishing and nature. The pier on the property was perfect for our boat to be docked which made it so much easier to go fishing. We enjoyed peace & quiet and the firepit at night making Smores and counting the stars. The downside of this cabin is that it is poorly maintained and it can get hot. You will need the fans because unfortunately most of the windows do not open or have screens .

Nice Family Vacation
This cabin was exactly as described, and was a modest, clean, and comfortable cabin for our family. We arrived during an unusually hot day and were disappointed to find that the AC didn’t work, but the owner Rachel was very responsive and provided 4 fans within a few hours to cool the cabin down. These were adequate for the remainder of the stay. My daughters enjoyed kayaking from the house and catching frogs at night around the fire pit, and cool breezes at night helped us enjoy the sunset from the patio. My only suggestion is that is would have been nice to have had access to a grill to BBQ at night, but overall we had a good stay and the owner was great to work with

Weekend Gateway
This was a really nice place, everything was just a describe online. It was clean and very and the check in process was easy. The only thing i would suggest to make it better is if there was a grill, or at least mention it in the online description. I would definitely come back here agian.

Amazing Location and nice place
This place is on Sawyer Harbor which gives great access to the bay for world class fishing. Rachel was amazing to deal with, even sending me pics to answer specific questions about the property, which was clean and well kept. We will come back for sure.

Great family getaway & amazing location for the outdoor lovers.
We had a super fun family trip (3 kids, 2 parents, and 2 grandparents). The house is right on the water and less than a quarter mile away opens up into the bay. We went kayaking and canoeing from the house. And less than a half mile from the house are some access paths into Potawatomi State Park, where my wife and I went on some beautiful and fun trail runs. We also brought mountain bikes and went for some family bike rides through the park. About a 4 mile bike ride through the park is a fun restaurant with a water view and beach called Waterfront Mary's. Really fun. And only about a 10 minute drive is downtown Sturgeon Bay with lots of restaurants and shops. We also ventured a little further north into Door County for some short day trips to go hiking and swimming in Lake Michigan. The house was just as advertised. Clean and comfortable with plenty of space for us. We spent most of the time outside since the weather was perfect. My son caught 3 frogs and 1 turtle from the house and we also saw several deer.
The kids of course loved the bunk beds and the campfires we had in the big firepit by the water. Rachel was extremely responsive, friendly, and informative. We got very lucky to book this only about 2 weeks before the trip and are happy to be the first renters. I guess this won't be a secret anymore! We would love to come back.
