Hidden gem

Fantastic breakfast prepared fresh to order. Nestled in a quiet cul de sac close to shops and Westville boys. Perfect for evening school functions overnight.

WONDERFUL STAY AT FARAWAY LODGE!

Godfrey was friendly and helpful. Location was also near to the venue where I needed to be.

The settings, the pool, breakfast. They provided enough help on arrival. I would stay there again if I were to return to Durban. I absolutely love the shower

The bed was too low. A low car like mine is at a disadvantage as when you leave the gate the hill is too high.

Disappointed

The location

Room had no view. Window opened onto brick wall. Bathroom TINY. Shower SO SO small. Very noisy. U can hear every room and bathroom around you. Fountain SO noisy, sucking air! Other guests SO noisy until 4am and no staff to help the situation. Godfrey was friendly and kitchen lady too. Guy that met us on arrival barely spoke English and not friendly at all. Breakfast was fine. Room was very bright and blindes not great (bent) All in all it's fine as a truck stop or labour's night stop but not a luxury b n b I expected. Pictures look better than the place. All in all I guess we got what we paid for for our 2 nights - R1854....?? On the positive, the beds were comfy.

Could be a great venue just needs tlc

Second booking was a great sunny room with lots of window. Very secure location and a lovely breakfast.

Small touches were missing and the bedding wasn't clean. Stains on blanket and sheets which were pointed out on the first day but nothing done about it. Mould on the bathroom ceiling is an easy fix but shows lack of attention

Great location but lacking management

Very safe location and a pleasant home. Godfrey was excellent and the breakfast was more than sufficient

The room was nothing like the pictures and had neither a garden or pool view. .. it was a window less room. Noise from the indoor fountain was irritating at night. The promised hair dryer was not in the room and yes I did look iin the draw as suggested.

Passable

The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Lovely home feel

Not advisable for work trip as there is no back up system for WiFi and no rechargeable lights during load shedding. I missed two evenings of meetings due to this. There is one candle in the room but had to find my way outside with my phone torch in order to find someone to light the candle. It takes very little to invest in the above

The facilities and room itself were good. Better than most places. The breakfast served was also quiet reasonable and was up to standard.

The property states no parties yet on the night of my initial arrival there was a group of rowdy people who went into screaming , laughing etc until 3am and nothing was done about it. There was no concern and consideration for other guests.

Faraway Westville

Clean facility and friendly service.Very happy with clean room.

WiFi was a bit slow.The shower has no door so water runs on bath room floor.
