Everything was perfect. Plenty of space for my family (7 of us). Location couldn’t be better and private pool was the icing on the cake. Even had floaties, cooler, beach mats, and umbrella. I would definitely stay here again.

Kailua house with pool
We loved how spacious the house was. Our family could spread out and really enjoyed that feature. The pool was our favorite part of the house. My kids went in first thing in the morning and after being at the beach all day the pool was a welcome way to relax. The garden/yard was lovely s d well cared for and provided a great space for my youngest kid to run around. The proximity to the beach was just as described and made accessing the beach very easy. We will definitely book this house again when we return to Kailua.

This house is very close to Kailua Beach. We enjoyed being able to easily walk over to the beach anytime without having to load up the kids in the car. The pool was wonderful in the hot afternoons, and there were plenty of pool rafts and toys. The house could use updating but overall was clean and had everything we needed. The property manager was very helpful when we couldn’t get the dryer to start and responded to us right away. We would stay here again.

Super location, OK house
We love Kailua and the surrounding area and have stayed in a few rentals there over the last couple of years. We know it is not inexpensive around the holidays:) This house was pricey, only for what it was lacking. We had 1/2 roll of paper towels for a one week stay and one kitchen towel. Granted, there is a washer/dryer, but buying paper towels wasn't on our radar. We used bath towels to supplement... Also, the place was a bit worn. The bedroon carpets REALLY need to be replaced. There were many stains in all three bedrooms. We're not that picky, but use some of the rent to replace these carpets...the outside garden area was beautiful and the pool was nice, but the pool was really cold, not able to hang out in it, and the bar area needed a coat of paint. The kitchen table was rickety and we had to tighten up some of the chairs.
So a lot of this review is about freshening up the place because it couldn't be in a better spot.

The place is large and spacious. It was clean but the carpets could use replacing. The entire neighborhood is in a time capsule from 30 - 40 years ago and so is this house. Although it’s still got charm. The pool was freezing… which would be ok in the hot summer but wasn’t great for the kids in the winter. It had everything we needed or wanted (except ice cubes as the freezer cubes didn’t work). The walk to the beach is across a sometimes busy road and then down a little path (which is to the right, after you cross the street). I’m not sure if VRBO software or the listing was incorrect but we booked this 10 months in advance and 6 weeks before we were to arrive we were notified that the pricing was wrong and we needed to pay a higher rate or cancel… that was a real drag and there was no effort to meet us half way for an issue that was not our fault.

Needed better lighting. It was very hard to read in the evening.
Location is excellent; the map on the coffee table helped a lot. We all had trouble reading .....

Upgrade Needed
The layout of this house is great and the three baths made it especially convenient for a family vacation. However the house is in need of upgrade. The photos do not identify many of the issues that need attention. We had the water heater replaced and a new WIFI router installed during our stay. The property manager was very responsive to our problems and we were given a two day refund. We would not rent again unless upgrades are made.

DON'T STAY HERE
We had a very traumatic stay at this property which was so unfortunate given the cost of the property as well as the travel cost to Hawaii. We were traveling as a family with a 4 yr old, 3 yr old and 1 yr old. On our first morning there I found an open pack of small hearing aid batteries in the cushions of the couch. These are deadly if ingested by a child! Not more than 10 minutes after this, a cabinet door came off the hinges as I opened it. Thankfully it stayed partially attached and no one got injured. While I was dealing with this, my husband came out of one of the bedrooms to report that an outlet was completely unattached from the wall, exposing wires and other electrical parts. I contacted Misty, the property manager and she was prompt in sending someone over to fix these things which was helpful. Shorty after this, my 3 year old came out of that same bedroom telling me that he ate the M&M's that were on the floor. Upon rushing in the room, I found a handful of unknown pills on the carpet. After a frantic ambulance ride, and a full day in the ER, the pills were identified as a heart medication, cholesterol medication and parkinson medication. I called Misty immediately. She was kind and seemed authentic in her concern for my son. She promptly sent over a second set of cleaners to do a better more throughout cleaning job which was comforting, but the next morning I followed my daughter behind the TV and furniture to find animal droppings and very small game pieces. Clearly, the second attempt at properly cleaning was unsuccessful. We made the most of our time there. Misty did reimburse us for a little over one night stay. I called VRBO to lodge a formal complaint since I would never want another family to experience what we experienced on what was supposed to be a beautiful vacation. Which brings me to today. We've received the medical bills in the mail (what is left for us to pay after insurance coverage). Ive tried to contact Misty twice regarding reimbursement for these bills and have not gotten any reply. VRBO has opened our complaint back up and we will now have to take this issue to the next level. I could not stand idle as a mother and a decent human being without warning would be renters about this property, especially since they allege to be kid friendly.

Pictures are worth a thousand words. Don't get duped.
Pictures were great when booking. Half the lights out. Pool has stains. Nieghbors cant stand a little music after 9 through a small bluetooth speaker. Some windows do not close. For the price i paid for 10 days i actually relaxed 5. Wasnt expecting to change light bulbs and call about grill. Nor was i expecting for the outside bar to be so dissmal. Made the best of it and had a great time. Received texts about trash everyday.

Great location, but a tired property
This is the most disappointing property I've ever stayed at. It's a great location but in serious need of a maker-over when compared to the many other places we've stayed at. We started our visit by my sister in law slipping on black slime that was covering the side walk from the frequent rains. Very luckily she was not seriously injured. The property manager got this pressure washed off the next day but it was representative of the state of the entire property. And not all parts of the concrete were cleaned but the entire property needed this done to all the concrete surface. Some windows didn't work, all three glass sliding doors would stick and were a struggle to open and close, the whole house smelled of mold, and there was mold on tiles that were cracked and ready to come off in one of the bathrooms. The furniture was well worn and just tired, as were the beds. The pool had algae growing in it. It's also a very old pool and may be permanently stained from lack of prior proper maintenance. The internet was extremely slow and not very easy to use when you had several people online, probably due to the connection being for minimal service. Many of the property pictures did not reflect reality, from the exterior furniture to the sparkling pool that was not sparkling. Rentals require reinvestment to keep them fresh and attractive. I would not come back to this property or any maintained by this leasing company.

Relaxing in Kailua
We appreciated staying in Kailua! The property is a great size outside and inside. We never felt too crowded. The house had all the basics one needs to immediately feel comfortable and relaxed in each of the living spaces such as the bathrooms, living room, and kitchen. We also appreciated having access to a washer/dryer. Having access to a pool was great too especially after a long flight! As someone who had two elderly folks in their party, it was critical to have a home where they felt comfortable in terms of accessibility. They were fine and appreciated staying at this property. Because parking on Ainoni Street is busy in the late afternoons and evenings because of the nearby beach access, we liked that the property provided its own gated parking and a carport. There was not an issue with arriving or departing the property during our entire stay. The home was centrally located and not to far from any highway or downtown Kailua, which was especially great if we forgot something at the store (Target) or the bakery (Agnes). We definitely hope to stay at this property again! Additionally, we appreciated that Misty made herself available from beginning to end as this was the first time we did a VRBO. She was immediately responsive to any questions. Thanks Misty!

very good
mostly very positive review of the house and the experience. it was my first time using VRBO so i was nervous how it would all work the inside of the house was very nice and what i expected from the pictures. the outside of the house was not as nice as i had anticipated but we made it work the property manager was very responsive when i had issues with the house
i would definitely use VRBO again as it worked out very well

Nice floor plan
The house is in a good location, Misty was available to any questions. There was a very nice welcome basket for us. I really like that every bedroom has its own bathroom. It was nice to have a private pool. The house is behind a secure electric gate. The master bed is very comfortable.

A perfect stay for our trip!
My family and I stayed here this summer for my brothers wedding and it was the perfect little place for us. It is actually bigger than the pictures lead you to believe. The swimming pool was such a nice bonus and having the grill to BBQ was so nice because eating out every night in Hawaii isn't cheap. I recommend going to Costco and buying food to eat while you visit and eat out a few times! :)
The air conditioners work great for how hot and humid it gets there. The back yard is huge and so great for lounging. In the closet in the garage, there is a beach umbrella, boogie boards, flippers and other snorkel gear, a cooler, beach towels, etc. I wasn't sure based off the description of the rental that where were all these extra amenities so we were thrilled to discover these! I wanted to mention it for anybody else who may be wondering! We did end up buying our own snorkel gear so that we'd have it for future trips. :)
Misty is the owner and she was so easy to deal with. I would text her with any questions I had and she would promptly reply. She was very accommodating and it was so nice having somebody easily accessible to speak to about anything that may have come up. She was nice and helpful!
This rental is one house away from the main road and it's very quiet. Once you cross the road, there is a beach access walkway. It is so close to the ocean! The beach wasn't crowded at all and to me it seemed like the Kailua area is more residential rather than touristy, so in my opinion, it was very laid back and not busy. The water is WARM and amazing and words cannot describe how beautiful it is. We had our own private beach area and it was so relaxing.
I would stay here again if I came back to Kailua with more than myself and my husband again. Everything was perfect, but I do want to mention that on Wednesday and Thursday, there was a yard maintenance gentleman that showed up without notice as well as a swimming pool maintenance gentleman that also showed up without notice. This didn't pose a problem for us personally because we are very laid back, but somebody else might not like that without the heads up. It wasn't an issue for us and they were both very nice and professional.
I am already planning my next trip to Hawaii! Kailua was my favorite area on Oahu. Like I said very chill and laid back, not busy. It also had the best beach in my opinion! Sand was soft and white! LOVE!!!!

Perfect Location and Exactly What We Needed
The house is perfect for what we needed. Everything was as described. As other reviewers stated, some updates could be used but not critical. Pool was awesome, as was the patio around the pool and the side yard! Was a 5 minute walk to the beach, only about 5 houses away. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean and the secured gate was a great touch. Would highly recommend staying here and once we come back, will be on our list of places to stay in Kailua!

Relaxing
Had an amazing stay at haleainoni! Very spacious, amazing location, and our kids loved the pool! We definitely would stay again!
The only reason the house did not get a five star was there was extremely minor wear and tear expected from a vacation rental. We had an issue with the master shower head breaking, & noticed it wasn't our fault and made sure we contacted misty right away so we wouldn't be liable! Misty was very understanding.
Other then that the house was absolutely perfect would definitely stay again!

Would definetly rent again! Beautiful house in a great location.
