Situated in Christchurch, this attractive cottage for $151 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. This stunning property has been lovingly recreated and rebuilt from scratch to the exact architectural specifications of the 19th century house once at this site. The new cottage encompasses the quaint look, high stud and roominess of the old, but also incorporates the insulation, modern outfitting and comfort of the new. From the moment you drive your car behind the drive's unique electric gates you enter a safe haven in the city. Before you the light, airy Zen garden designed by the owner and actioned by the master landscaper Lindsay Philps from GoFar Landscaping Company. Pause at this unique, private vista knowing it is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay. Once inside the house, explore the 2 generous bedrooms, living area, well-appointed galley kitchen and the "has it all" bathroom. Double-glazed sash windows, ceiling roses and ornate fire-surrounds create a sense of atmosphere harking back to a less stressful era. This attention to detail is, these days, somehow absent in most modern spec homes. Built to last, built to impress, built for safety. This regenerating area of Christchurch is close to everything. You can start every day with a quick walk to Little Poms cafe for a wonderful breakfast and brunch and later meander down to the famous Pomeroys Public bar and restaurant. Or, by car, continue along Kilmore Street and within two or three minutes you are in the exciting Casino precinct with its Victoria Street dining and bars. Once you have finished with your evening's activities retire to Fitzgerald Cottage, pop some of your favourite music on through the bluetooth-able sound system and relax in the warmth and comfort of your Christchurch haven. We really enjoyed our stay in this unique and beautifully decorated house, which is very conveniently located in relation to Christchurch CBD. The off street parking was a real bonus for us. The house is very well appointed, with all the mod cons you could need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

An amazing experience, what a beautiful home, so much detail put into every room. The garden was fabulous with lots of hidden corners to sit in. Very relaxing to listen to the water feature and the outdoor chess set completed the grounds. A beautiful place to seat out in the evening. The secured off street parking was an extra bonus.

It is a lovely property in a good location with a bus stop outside, off-street parking and easy access to Christchurch amenities. My Wife and I stayed here with our two children (10 and 2) in September 2023. A cot bed and high chair were provided. The property was clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. I would recommend the house for anyone considering visiting Christchurch. If staying with young children, just be aware there are a lot of ornaments in the house, so we were constantly on our guard to ensure our two-year-old didn't touch or break anything.

The house was exquisitely furnished with an array of lovely detail though out. The beds were super comfortable with lovely linen. The house was lovely and warm and the kitchen was perfect for cooking up a meal. The backyard offered a peaceful space to sit and catch some sun. Overall an amazing stay.

What a lovely place!! It was so lovely, surprised by the amazing backyard and garden chess in the backyard. The beds were so comfortable, we loved the decor and THE SHOWER…incredible water pressure. Classy,secure,cosy,warm,convenient,all around excellent and will recommend to everyone! I even taught our son to play chess, on the outdoor set. My only observation was, that the head of the white Queen is loose!!!!!Thank you very much.

Beautifully presented home with lovely touches. Underfloor and gas fire heating, electric blankets. Easy to forget it was winter outside. Beds were very comfy. Handy to town (approx 5min drive) Everything you could possibly want in a home away from home. Will definitely be back.

This was the second stay for us and once again it was a great one. The house is warm and comfortable and has everything needed. Parking is secure inside a locked gate. It is close enough to walk to the CBD and there is an excellent spot for breakfast only a block away ( Little Pom's ). The hosts are friendly and responsive. A small problem with hot water got a fast response and fix. This is our go-to holiday rental in Christchurch.

Fantastic stay. The house is equipped with everything you need and more. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds. Lovely private verandah to sit outside. A couple of minutes walk to a great cafe and English style pub. We walked to central Christchurch everyday with the option of walking along the river which is very scenic and relaxed. You could also get a bus just outside the property if you didn’t have a car. Highly recommended for couples or small groups of friends. Thank you Danielle for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful home!

We had a great time, the place had all the staples stocked and the communication with the host was quick and helpful. It's an easy walk to the restaurants and the downtown area. There's a trail close by for walking/running. Two thumbs up!

Great location….walked everywhere. Warm welcoming home with lovely touches. I especially loved the garden. Easy to get here from the airport with a shuttle. Lovely cafe and pub just 5 mins walk away. Wifi works.
