About this house rental
Situated in Tempe, this lovely house for $385 per night is a great choice for your next trip. This remodeled 3-bedroom, 2-bath house is located within walking distance of Arizona State University and Mill Avenue, which is the heart of downtown Tempe. City bus routes and a light rail system make this location quite desirable. The property is close to Sun Devil Stadium, Grady Gammage Auditorium, Tempe Center for the Arts and Tempe Town Lake, which is the home of the annual Ironman Triathlon and many other events. The AZ Cardinals stadium is a 30-minute drive away so this property is a perfect location for AZ Cardinals games and the annual Fiesta Bowl. If interested, the owner often has extra AZ Cardinals tickets. The nightlife of this college town makes this home ideally located for those who want to vacation in a quiet neighborhood close to where the action is. Since the property is very centrally located in the metro Phoenix area, you can hang out in Tempe or go anywhere in the metro Phoenix area very quickly and inexpensively. Executive as well as designer golf courses are nearby. A short drive will take you to numerous spring training facilities. The Phoenix Zoo is less than five miles away. The living room, bedrooms and the backyard are equipped with cable television. The interior of the house is fully tiled and newly furnished with contemporary furniture. A swimming pool -- heated during the winter except during December and January -- accentuates the covered patio and gas grill in the backyard. If you would like to have the pool heated for your stay in December or January, there would be an added cost. When heated, the pool heater is set at 88 degrees but, if the outside temperature gets too cool, the pool temp may not reach 88. That doesn't happen often but it does happen occasionally. There are wet suit tops in the laundry area for your use. Those will help. If you are bringing dogs to the property, please try to keep them out of the pool as dog hair can seriously clog the filtering system. The laundry room is located next to the pool. The property is also conveniently located only 4 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. You will see and hear an occasional plane while sitting at the pool, but that is actually quite enjoyable. With the house's dual pane windows, you will not hear airport noise when inside. This property can accommodate 6 guests but, if you need to find lodging for more, we own 2 other vacation rentals across the street. You can see them at VRBO.com/395773, which has a pool, and VRBO.com/214978, which does not have a pool. We call this property "El Norte" because it is our only property on the north side of the street. You will not be charged a cleaning fee at any of our 3 properties. The property can accommodate a family gathering but cannot accommodate a large event. If you are planning to host an event of any size, please clear it with the owner at time of booking. This house was all we could have asked for during our stay in Tempe. The location was great, right near the heart of downtown but without all the traffic and noise. The house had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so it was perfect for us and our friends when they visited, The pool was amazing! It stayed the perfect temperature the entire time and was very large, we basically spent most of our time either in the pool or hanging around in the great outdoor space this property had. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy tempe life.

Shirley and Pete were excellent hosts. The house was very clean and they provided several amenities not typically provided. It is nice to see 3 bedrooms, all with king size beds. We enjoyed swimming in the pool while watching baseball on the outdoor flatscreen tv. The house is very close to the ASU campus. The proximity to the ASU campus made it very easy for us to move our son into his college apartment. .

This property has such a great location in proximity to the University neighbourhood we were there to visit for a hockey camp. Close to grocery stores and cool eateries, it's such a great little neighbourhood. Temperatures were incredibly hot in the area but between the AC in the house and the pool we were perfectly comfortable. The bedrooms all have super comfy large (King) beds with lots of extra blankets, pillows and towels. Kitchen and Laundry are both well supplied for all of the necessities and a few extra's that really helped us feel at home like cooking oils, condiments etc... The communication with the owners was excellent from the very first communication on booking all the way through to the end of our stay. Really couldn't have asked for a better experience overall and we can't thank you enough for the use of your house, it was perfect!

Shirley and Pete are amazing hosts. They respond quickly and make you feel welcomed. Shirley provided ideas of fun activities available in the area and overall just great to work with. The property is amazing and the pool was perfect for the record heat wave we were experiencing at the time of our stay. I will be staying again the next time we visit Arizona and highly recommend this property.

Absolutely amazing stay! Weather was perfect to enjoy the pool & the tv in the patio with great movie channels was a favorite with my teens. I was lucky to enjoy a juicy grapefruit from the backyard tree during the stay. Shirley & Pete were very accommodating; great atentive hosts. Will definitely look to book again in our next AZ visit.

Lovely, well-maintained and thoughtfully set up vacation rental. It is clear that Shirley and Pete are experienced hosts; everything I could have imagined needing was there, thoughtfully organized. We loved the private backyard and pool area! We were helping our ASU senior move into an apartment and really appreciated the covered carport, to keep the car & contents out of the sun.
Shirley was very attentive. There were a few hiccups with cable and internet as a result of a storm before we arrived. This wasn't a problem for us, but she offered alternative lodgings for us and stayed in touch until everything was resolved.
It was an easy location to drive or bike to campus (or walk in cooler weather), close to Whole Foods and a number of restaurants. I wished we had discovered it our son's freshman year! We would happily stay there again.

Its conveniently located in the perfect location a short distance to anything you may want or need. You can't ask for anything more. Can't wait for our next trip back to this beautiful Oasis.

Graduation Gathering
We rented this property for a graduation party for my niece. The house and pool were fantastic and exactly what we needed. Shirley was communicative from the week of booking and even during the stay. I recently stayed at the El Norte house and it was an excellent experience. Shirley is a tremendous property manager. She was always available for questions and checked in daily just to make sure our stay was still going well. She also provided great suggestions for activities and restaurants.
As for the property, the house was exactly what we were looking for. It is spacious throughout, well stocked and very clean. The outside areas were clean and obviously well-maintained. The entire backyard/pool area is well lit and there is plenty of space to relax. The pool was warm and clean. There are bikes, pool accessories, games and sports equipment for entertainment.
The neighborhood was very quiet and the neighbors were friendly. The area is also very walkable. There are plenty of small stores and places to eat just a couple blocks away. Mitchell Park is also just a couple minutes away with plenty of things to do for kids, basketball courts and open space for pets.
Overall, the stay couldn't have been better. I highly recommend this property and Shirley is a fantastic host.

Me and my family had a great time at this vacation property. The backyard was an oasis and we spent much of our time there. The area was close to the university and we partook of several nice food options nearby. The house had everything we needed to make our stay a great one. Shirley was great and communicated with us during our stay to make sure we were doing good.

El Norte is comfortable and easy to stay in. Shirley is a great host that cares for her guests well. My family goes down for the Aloha Festival and it is an easy drive to Tempe Beach Park and within walking distance a few other nice places to eat.

We enjoyed our week at El Norte. The owners were very flexible when we asked to stay a day earlier than planned. The house was clean and organized and had everything we needed! The heated pool was a hit with our kiddos - even in the rain. The location was quiet and close to all sorts of activities. We rented scooters down the street and road them to the waterfront park. We played mini golf and laser tag at a Mesa water park. We would stay at one of their properties again!
