About this house rental
Situated in Anacortes, this attractive house for $247 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This cliff side property has spectacular 180 degree sea views, Islands Alan, Burrows and Lopes as well as the Olympic Mountains. Eagles, Whales, Otters and other wildlife can be seen while kicking back on the patio or grassy lawn. Please READ CAREFULLY to get the full story on this unit, ESPECIALLY if you are planning for 6 or 7 people. This 821 sq foot unit with its well appointed furnishings will comfort you and shift you into that vacation spirit that makes you never want to leave. This is the entire downstairs of our house; a daylight basement converted into a beautiful living space. It is a self contained unit for just your party, with its own private entrance. It is complete with a Kitchen (no oven, it has 2 induction cook tops), Queen Bed Room, Bunk room with 1 single twin bed, and a two level bunk twin bed set. Private Bath Room (shower), and cozy living room. We have an extra Queen bed that is quick and easy to setup in the living room. It is COMFORTABLE, however, it does make the living room tight when it is setup. The setting is in a semi-rural environment where many properties are 1, 5, or 30 acres in size, most contain luxury homes. Yet the quaint town of Anacortes for shopping, restaurants, boat docks, and island ferries are just 10-15 minutes away. There is so much to see and do here that you could easily spent a week or two and still be left wanting more time here. Come surround yourself in the healing energies of nature, indulge in a well deserved vacation, relax, rejuvenate, and be inspired here at the Sea View Inn. Full Details - Size Sleeping - Cleaning Fee ---------------------------------------------------------- Total Square Footage: 821 2+ Bedrooms - 1 bedroom with a Queen size bed - 1 bedroom with 3 Twin beds - a single bed and two bunk beds stacked - WEIGHT LIMIT on UPPER BUNK of 200 lbs MAXIMUM! - 1 QUEEN SIZED BED that requires setup in Living Room. All beds have comfortable mattresses (by most people's standards). CLEANING FEE - For most parties, the cleaning fee we are asking for is reasonable and covers the actual cost of cleaning...and we get the HIGHEST MARKS for great cleaning from our guests. However, we've had a few parties that left the place trashed...6 hours of cleaning! We tried raising the cleaning fees, and then giving partial refunds to most people...it was a pain to manage and reduced our bookings. So we ask you to clean up well so we can keep the fee reasonable...AND EXPECT US TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY TO COVER CLEANING IF YOUR PARTY COSTS US MORE THAN 2 HOURS OF CLEANING. Kitchen has Pots, Pans, Sinks, INDUCTION COOK TOPS, Microwave Oven, Toaster, Coffee Maker, Grinder and ORGANIC Coffee, Full Size Refrigerator, Plates, Glasses, Bowls and more; it is setup with all that you will need for cooking good quality meals. NO OVEN however. Laundry room is part of the kitchen with a Clothes Washer and Dryer. Living Room and Kitchen are small. There is only 1 bathroom & 1 shower. If you plan to fill this unit to the maximum of 7 people be aware that it will be tight, but workable if you all get along well and cooperate with each other. There is a spacious cliff side patio with ample furniture to enjoy a nice meal and views together. Hot water heater has been engineered to provide ample hot water for 7 guests, even if taken back to back. NOTE: that the QUEEN BED IN THE LIVING ROOM takes up extra space when the bed is setup. While it is easy to setup, it does require time and effort to set it up and put it back and un-make the bed. Two TV Screens - 55 inch in Living Room - 22 inch in Bunk Room Roku and Amazon Streaming - NO Cable TV Deck and Patio with BBQ Grill are for our guests to enjoy! We do have two other units onsite, but there is plenty of room for all parties to enjoy the views and have space between them. NOTICE - You will hear foot steps, voices, and kitchen appliances from above, this is the downstairs unit of the main house, we live above. It is a daylight basement converted into a beautiful living space. ROAD NOISE: We do have some road noise. MOST guests barely notice it. SOME guests do have issues with it. If you are highly sensitive to noise or can't stop focusing on it, then this is not the place for you. We live here and rarely notice it. It is the worst when standing outside in the drive way and trying to have a conversation. It is also noticeable in the bunk bedroom of this unit. Other than that, inside the main living areas of the units, or out back enjoying the amazing views, most people don't even notice it. It is barely audible.

We had a very pleasant stay here, and there were 5 of us. Very accessible to Deception Pass and the town of Anacortes. Cannot wait to come back to this area! Our host was very communicative, and helpful with local recommendations.
Admittedly, we were usually out and about all day every day...only came back to the Vrbo to sleep; and, we made simple breakfasts there. It may be a bit too small of a place for 5 people to hang out all day inside. But, the listing was very accurate; so, there were no surprises in this regard.
One thing worth noting is that one of the bedrooms can only be accessed by passing through the bathroom. We weren't prepared for that; but, then again, the listing may have mentioned it, and I overlooked it. Ultimately, we made do; the price of this unit is extremely reasonable; and, the hosts were top-notch.

As advertised
My wife and I spent four nights at the Sea View Inn in late June 2022. The online listing is accurate. The property was well equipped, clean and the views from the main bedroom and the rear patio are spectacular. The owners were very hospitable and provided us with numerous recommendations for restaurants and daily activities. We will choose this property again if we return to the area

Meh
It is a basement property that does not have views out of the windows, you will only see the bottom of the wrap around porch that is there upstairs that the landlord uses. Also there is not any opening to the waterfront side the opening is the other side. Plus the ceiling height is only 7 feet max and definitely not open and airy if that is your consideration. Location is good. You get good views from the sitting area outside.

Meeting the owners is different but we liked them, easy to get along with. My kids were given an extensive tour of their working farm, they liked that. As the photos show, it is one hell of a view off the patio. well maintained and cared for property. The easy trails at Deception Pass State Park were great, go early or later in the day to get the most solitude. We liked this area of Washington, would visit again.

Beautiful water view
We were warmly welcomed and shown the property including our downstairs accommodation, the outside area with a beautiful water view and the organic farm across the road. While there was no stove or oven, a very small living room area and a small shower, the owners had a completely stocked kitchen and bathroom. Because it was a downstairs unit and close to the road there was some noise but that was understandable and caused us little problems. Aside from that and that the single bed in the smaller bed was uncomfortable, the stay was a pleasant one.

Nice place to stay, location was great for attending wedding at Deception Pass State Park. Backyard view of San Juan Islands was stunning. Kitchen was roomy with excellent light. Mattress in master bedroom was very comfortable.

Bunk beds were great for our toddler. Close to Deception Pass and the ferry. Back patio is beautiful and owners are very friendly. Keep in mind that the patio is shared with the owners and guests of the adjacent cottage, not your own private space.

My friend and I stayed here and loved it. Shyni came down to meet us when we arrived (she and her husband live on the second floor) and was very friendly. She even set out wine and cheese for us to watch the sunset in her lovely backyard. You are just 10 minutes from downtown Anacortes and very close to Deception Pass. The property is right on the water so the views are beautiful. Would definitely recommend this spot.

What was really nice is how clean and nice comfy things in the house. What was disappointing was the beautiful sea view was visible only while standing in the kitchen. No privacy while outside. I read the reviews and thought I would be okay with the noise upstairs. But could not sleep until they went to bed and was wakened when they got up. The owner are busy people. Up late and up early. I hate having to watch every footstep while walking outside. This is needed as owners have a dog. We stayed under the house and there is another rental space in the garage. I felt it was overpriced for what you get.
