Fantástica, acolhedora e boa comida!

Adorei o alojamento da Milu. Sem dúvida o melhor sítio para jovens e pessoas que viajam sozinhas ficarem na ilha do Sal. Perfeito para descansar longe da confusão, mesmo em frente à praia, todos os funcionários são super simpáticos e o melhor de tudo tem um pequeno almoço caseiro incrível e claro a boa energia e receção da própria Milu 🤍

Je loopt in no time naar de zee, met een eigen mini strandje, die op 50 meter van het hotel ligt. En het personeel is super vriendelijk. En doet er alles aan om je verblijf zo leuk mogelijk te maken. Het ontbijt zeer uitgebreid, helemaal top. Je zit tussen en proeft de warmte van de Kaapverdieans. Geweldig.

Für's Ankommen und eine Woche Strandurlaub gut geeignet.

Die Residencial liegt eher am östlichen Ende des Ortes . Sehr gutes und originelles Frühstück, Zimmer nach kurzer Eingewöhnung völlig akzeptabel, sicher nicht luxuriös. Fußweg zu einem (guten) Strand ca. 6-10 min., zum Hauptstrand und zur Touristenmeile braucht man dann doch gut 25-35 Minuten, die aber angenehm sind. In der anderen Richtung ist man nach ca. 10 Minuten quasi in der Wüste. Die Gastgeberein Milu ist eine Seele von Mensch (und spricht leidlich deutsch). Ihr Ehemann Walter hat die Welt gesehen (ob er sie auch wirklich angeschaut hat, sei dahingestellt...)

WIFI slecht (laatste 3 dagen geen WIFI) - kamers afgeleefd - foto's geven absoluut niet weer wat de realiteit is - 4 straaltjes water uit de douchekraan - ontbijt goed ? ... als je graag pizza en lasagne eet 's morgens

Lovely guesthouse with a family touch.

Perfect secluded location near beach. Fairly quiet part of S. Maria. 10 min. walk to town. Interesting architecture of the guest house. The owners Milu & Valter are super friendly and help organise anything. Excellent and abundant breakfast.

Empecé teniendo un mal entendido con los precios, una vez que se aclaró y decidí quedarme ,subi a la habitación para mi sorpresa, olía mucho a cerrado, los muebles sucios con mucho polvo , me encontré un bastoncillo de oreja en suelo.. la nevera hacia un ruido tan fuerte q cada vez q empezaba el ruido me despertaba y no tenía ni agua en la nevera , ni ciertos snacks que al día siguiente ( después de preguntarme si había consumido del minibar) mientras tomaba café, subieron a la habitación a reponerlo (cuando yo ya marchaba) Para el precio q tiene ni el típico gel en la ducha ... no voy a opinar sobre la ubicación porque eso es para gustos . Esta alejado del centro .

A dreamy place

All was fantastic, the location just in front the ocean, the room and Milu was so nice with me. The breakfast was amazing. For sure, I will repeat my experience with them if I come back! Totally recomended, thanks for all!

Excellent location (1min walk from the romantic shell bech) and unbelievably good breakfast :very welcoming stuff and fantastic owner. ;)

Jakuzzi bath in our room was more like a decoration, but we didnt mind at all not to use it.

You can notice the place itself has been hit by covid; the room and the outside relaxing space need some maintenance. However, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is great! So I do recommend staying here!

If you want somewhere a bit more special than one of the big hotels, then this place is a gem!

Residencial Cabo Verde Palace is a wonderful, quirky guesthouse tucked away in quiet corner of Santa Maria. The first thing you notice is the unusual architecture - a testament to the imagination and talent of owner Walter, who designed it himself. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and most appear to have their own private access - straight on to the beach. Both Walter and his wife Milu are excellent hosts who will take care of you during your stay. Milu prepares bespoke breakfasts for her guests, which are rightly praised in many of the reviews. I had no particular requirements, so for me she prepared a selection tray - and it was delicious. I only stayed for one night as it was a stopover between flights, but I would have been perfectly comfortable here for a longer stay. Walter and Milu also run a restaurant, bar and music venue in the middle of the town, where I had a very pleasant lunch.

Some of the fixtures and fittings in the room, particularly in the kitchenette, are looking a little tired - they're probably the original ones from when the place was built 28 years ago, and now overdue a refurbishment. The shower unit needs replacing. There was no tea or coffee available in the room, and reception is closed during the afternoon, but I managed to get a coffee at the Budha Beach Hotel just a few minutes walk away. Unfortunately there were issues with the Wi-Fi booster in the room not working, and there was no hot water. However I was given a very generous discount due to this, which I hadn't expected. I am confident that if I had stayed longer than one night, these issues would have been rectified very promptly, as the hosts are extremely attentive.

This place is a peaceful haven away from the hustle, bustle and noise of the main street. It's a 15 minute walk to town and there are beach clubs and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The staff are warm and friendly, the rooms are clean and well-equipped. Milu the owner is on hand to help with anything you need during your stay. Definitely recommend for those looking for some peace and quiet.

Tranquil stay in Santa Maria

The breakfast which is served on the terrace is superb. One day we had omelette accompanied by cheese & meats with bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice & coffee. We were full for hours. The property is at the far end of Santa Maria in a mainly residential area so it is very quiet, which is great if you enjoy a peaceful relaxing location.

The downside to this location is it takes about 15/20 minute walk to the centre which is not ideal at night since there are no restaurants close to the property so you need to either walk or take a taxi.

Nice place with great breakfast!

Breakfast was great, we've enjoyed it a lot! Milou is a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful! The room is spacious.

The space between the toilet and douchecabin is very tiny, especially if you're tall (1.96m). Near the guesthouse they are building a new resort, so you can hear construction activity.

We loved staying here for a month. Milu was a super host, breakfast is delicious, staff wonderful, apartment spacious clean with everything we needed and location was perfect. Met Walter who was lovely and can't wait to return ! Highly recommend this beautiful guest house 🏠 👌 😍

The view on the ocean from the hotel and Milu, who is an amazing host are the two things we'll remember the most. The room was big and clean. The location of the hotel, a bit outside of the too touristic area, is great. There was a nite windsurf and kitesurf shop in front of the hotel with a great guy named Filou. Great hotel overall with a super nice and welcoming owner.

Wonderful hotel - STAY THERE !

EXCELLENT location close to the beach and rental of windsurfing equipment. A location on the other side of town - at a location within nature away from traffic and the other big hotels. AMAZING freshly prepared breakfast. A wonderful room - taking the price into account. And a VERY friendly and helpful staff.

Great hospitality

This place is run with a lot of love. Milu went above and beyond to make my stay as nice as possible. The girls who help with preparing the breakfast and cleaning of the rooms are also very friendly. Very nice breakfast. Located in a quiet area about 15 minutes walk from the center of Santa Maria.

If you're someone who is keen on punctuality, you should probably prepare yourself a bit to get in 'no stress' vacation-modus. ;-)

Superb

The bed was probably a king size, regardless it was one of the comfiest bed we found during our 3 weeks long. Also we were quite impressed with the breakfast. Everything else went fine as well.

We didn't mind but it's true that the map doesn't really point at where the place is located. My wife expected it to be on the beach but it is not. In the end it didn't really matter and we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful holiday at Milù's Palace! She was so helpful and gave us a lot of tipps. The breakfast on the terrace is delicious. Her bar/restaurant at the beach is great, it was the best food we had. We will definitely come back!

This is a beautiful building with very kind, welcoming staff. It directly overlooks the beach, with a fabulous breakfast taken on the terrace.

The WiFi didn't reach the room, and the air-conditioning wasn't strong enough to cool quite a hot room

Absolutely perfect, a piece of Cape Verdean heaven.

We loved absolutely everything about Residencial Cabo Verde Palace. We were met with the warmest welcome we have ever received in any hotel anywhere. Milu and Walter are such lovely people and completely dedicated to making sure that you have the best stay possible with them. Simply nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing, the best we have ever had and we totally appreciated all the effort that was made. They are brought to you on your own personal, beautifully presented tray. We enjoyed, homemade cinnamon and banana pancakes with sugar cane syrup from the Island, omelettes, home made jams and cakes, fruit platters, cheeses from the island, homemade banana fritters (and many other delicious things). We had breakfast every morning on the beautiful terrace filled with flowers with traditional Cape Verdean music playing softly in the background and glimpses of the sea-green ocean just a minute or two walk away. There is a real family atmosphere at the Residencial Cabo Verde Palace. The staff were all so lovely and helpful and always smiling. My husband is a keen Foil Boarder and the hotel was perfectly located for the local beach and 'Kite Beach' was also only a short drive away. We had a lovely, spacious room with sea views and fell asleep every night to the sound of the ocean. We felt this was own little piece of Cape Verdean heaven. We also visited Milu and Walters restaurant, Funana (La Casa da Cultura) whilst we were there and they were the best nights of our holiday. Again, we noticed immediately here the lovely family, happy atmosphere and the Wednesday evening buffet was so delicious. We have already booked to go back to Santa Maria next year just so that we can stay at Residencial Cabo Verde Palace again. Thank you Milu, Walter and all the staff for such a fantastic holiday experience.

I recommend this place!

The host here was delightful, so helpful and kind, and she appeared to know everyone on the island too! Very good to know her. She also changed my room for me when it appeared WIFI would not connect in one of them

There was a slight problem with wifi and some water subsidence, but they fixed these without hesitation.
