About this house rental
Nestled in Williamstown, this lovely house for $282 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The Old Home Place has the beauty of the country but only minutes from town. We are 4.2 miles from the Ark Encounter and less than an hour to The Creation museum, Cincinnati and Lexington. Our home is very peaceful, with something for all ages. The view from the back patio is stunning. We sit on 100 acres of land and there is a lot of nature to take in. A nice stroll back the ridge, or a game of pool, will offer you an enjoyable time away from home. For your convenience we have caretakers who live on the property in a separate living quarters that share no doors or locks. The caretakers have 2 dogs that are very friendly and will not be bothersome during your stay. The Old Home Place was recently purchased with the intent of putting my great great grandparents farm back together. If it was still standing the original farm house would be almost a century old, however the original barn is still standing. Our beautiful farm can accommodate larger groups, we are a 3 bedroom home with 1 queen bed, a set of bunk beds, with an extra floor mattress, 1 full bed, 1 roll away bed and 1 air mattress. We have 2 bathrooms one of which has a jacuzzi tub, and 2 living room areas. Our kitchen has all of your major appliances, as well as the dishes, pots and pans needed to prepare a meal. There is a Keurig with assorted coffee's and a toaster. We have a large fenced in back yard, with plenty of room for outside activities. We offer high speed internet, cable t.v., DVD player with a large selection of DVD's. Other amenities include hairdryers, ironing board and iron, linens, on site laundry, and digital alarm clocks. We also have parking that would accommodate an R.V. or boat if needed. We are sure once you arrive you will want to spend most of your time outside taking in the scenic 360 degree view of rural farm life. Feel free to email with any further questions.

We had a pleasant stay. Would had been better if there wasn't a Japanese bettle invasion occuring. Property is great. Location is really close to Ark. Not much else in town. It is a farm house. Only othere issue we had is there is attached home with access to the property you stay in. You should probably list that.

This worked out perfectly for us as we had a 3 day conference at the Ark Encounter and also had some extended family members tagging along for the fun! Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of beds to sleep on, and a great place to relax after a long day of exploring, networking, and learning. The children loved the open spaces to play and run and also having extra space to hang out! All around beautiful and great place to stay!

This property is awesome. It was a perfect choice for us. It is so quiet and pretty outside sitting on the deck. Inside is very clean and comfortable as well. The pool table was everyone’s favorite part. We really enjoyed playing. Only thing I would have done differently is if you have little kids like us is bring a baby gate for the stairs!

This was the perfect place for our family vacation, close to the ark encounter and 45 minutes to the creation museum!! Beautiful home on a beautiful property!! You do share the property with the caretakers however we would never have know. They were there!!! Would definitely stay here again!!

My family and I stayed here so we could go to the Ark Encounter. The house was wonderful, very clean, quiet and less than 10 mins from the Ark. The kids loved taking baths in the jacuzzi tub, the beds were comfortable and it was nice to end the night with a game of pool. We would definitely come back again, highly recommend!

This was a great place to stay at a great price for our large family. Very good location in regards to the Ark Encounter and zoo. We had nine total staying and we had plenty of room. This area is beautiful with rolling hills and very quiet!

I chose this property after reading through previous reviews. It surely did not disappoint! We loved our stay there! The views from every side are beautiful! It’s in a great location that was very close to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum! It was a perfect fit for our family and we would love to stay there again! Eric made our first stay a great one! Having the pool table, the gum ball machine and M&M dispenser was a huge hit with our kids as well as the garden tub. Would definitely stay there again if ever back in the area.

This house was exactly what we needed. It was very clean, beautiful, roomy, and fully stocked. The views were amazing. We had deer come visit the back yard a couple of the days we were there. We had arrived late in the night, as we came from a long distance away, and GPS took me down the road just a bit, but we were able to get ahold of the owner, even late at night, and they were super nice and helpful. We all had a good time on our family mini-vacation. Thank you for sharing your home, we loved it!!

We were all so pleased with our rental. Communication was excellent! There are not a "bazillion" ridiculous rules to follow. It was very clean, updated, and beautifully decorated. We loved all the touches of the original farmhouse that were incorporated. We drove in from Missouri and met our daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons who drove in from North Carolina to spend a few days at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. This home was just perfect for our stay!

The property was easily located. The neighborhood was quiet. All in all it was a good experience. It was a little hard for me because the kitchen was upstairs, But we made it fine. Would come again.

Owner was great to work with. There were 6 of us staying and house had plenty of room. Men watched football downstairs and women watched movies upstairs with kids watching TV in their room. Please note 1 bedroom living area and bathroom is at walk-in level, the kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living/dining and a bath is upstairs. We had no issues with stairs but handicapped or elderly might.

We loved the property. The beds were very comfortable and we slept great. The pool table was a hit for our teens. The bathtub was great with an extension to wash little kids hair. Great movie selection! Communicating through VRBO messaging wasn't good, however the property manager replied quickly to my phone call and texts. I would stay here again.

Reasons for less than 5 stars:
*Check in process - this was lower due to the code not working, we were able to get in touch with the property owner and get the correct code
*Accuracy of online listing - Kitchen is upstairs which made it very difficult and dangerous for our elderly companion to join the group at mealtime, it definitely would have affected our home choice had it been known, especially should be noted for anyone traveling with mobility limitations
*Communication - it took multiple times to connect due to cell signal dropping either for us or the homeowner, we were able to connect when needed, but it was slightly inconvenient
Overall a wonderful place, beautiful views, peaceful setting, very clean and great home for fellowshipping! We visited the ark, which makes the location perfect! If the kitchen were not upstairs and the code had worked, we would have given 5 stars, it really is a great place to stay.

My family and I came to Kentucky to see the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. We absolutely LOVED The Old Farmhouse!! Everything was so nice and clean! There was sooo much thoughtfulness put into this home down to the little M&M dispenser and the books and games foe the kids!! The kitchen was my favorite thing about the home it is well stocked with anything you would need to cook breakfast or dinner! We loved the back balcony and saw some wild turkeys one morning!! The old barn is perfect for taking a picture by and the pool table was lots of fun!! My kids also loved the cool gumball dispenser!! The host is very kind and even brought us some extra laundry detergent. There were juice boxes and popcorn and water bottles for us when we arrived! I just can't say enough about this place it was amazing!!

We enjoyed having the house all to ourselves, the kids had fun playing pool and the booking was very easy and the host made it easy to access on arrival. The house was very clean and furnished with everything you need to enjoy your stay. It was a great location not far from town and restaurants and close to the Ark Encounter.

Peace in the Mountains
We had a wonderful stay. The owners were very thoughtful in making this a home away from home. It accommodated our group of 10 (5 adults, 3 children and 2 infants) nicely. It is only 8 minutes away from the Ark Encounter. We would definitely recommend this house to others.
