Nothing - so disappointing
The site is under construction and the official pictures do not reflect the reality; it is like a building site and there is lots of dirt and dust as a result.
Despite repeated confirmation of our booking, when we arrived they did not have our booking.
Our rooms were dusty and there were no towels. When towels were brought they were stained and smelt of chlorine.
The pool area is unloved - broken furniture and gym equipment. There was a smell of sewage.
In the evening we were asked to move to one room only as the hotel had messed up the booking for other guests. There was a lot of arguments coming from other guests in another room.
We moved our family into one room only and were assured that we would at least not have to pay for both rooms but when we checked out the next day only 50 euro was taken off our bill and then 10% added on as we wanted to pay by credit card.
Breakfast poor, hygiene poor - a thoroughly disappointing experience after a wonderful time in other parts of Morocco.
Absolutely not worth the trip - avoid.

Location and breakfast are perfect.
The water is salty, weird and same everywhere: pool, shower, bathroom. In our first night we ordered wine and waited around 40 minutes, at the end wine was not so good and we didn’t even finish the half of the bottle, had to pay 20€ for that tho.

Staff were very friendly. Dinner was great. View was beautiful.
Hotel is still under construction so it is somewhat of a work in progress, but still a great place to stay.

The hotel is set in a private setting....beautiful to gaze at the stars at night....really magical. The Morrocans are amazing and so hospitable as was Ibrahim.

location was okay
place was fine, we did end up leaving a pair of shoes on the room upon checkout, it was very difficult to communicate with the property and when we returned to pick them up they had disappeared.

We loved this eco-friendly stay from the moment we arrived. Check in is easy and welcome tea is always a favorite in Morocco. The tea here is much better than we've had anywhere, likely bc they grow much of what is used.. The staff is the most attentive and soft spoken and they set such a beautiful tone for the stay. Being away from the town provides for a completely resetting atmosphere. The stars are unbelievable! We were sad to have missed out on the fire and berber music at night but the first night was windy and the second night the staff was busy helping a family in a tough situation. Again proof of how wonderfully they care for you. There is plenty of hot water and the pressure in morning and night is great. My kids went crazy for the animals on property. Tortoises, guinea, kittens and peacocks. The kids loved the pool and we loved that it is natural water but runs through a pump so we feel confident using it. The beds are very comfortable and we loved that they had a family room that could easily fit 5 of us. the food on site is so delicious. The Barber omlette eggs at breakfast have me wanting to go back right now! We also ate dinner one night and it was a full 4 course dinner. Highly recommend! Everything is fresh and we appreciate how well they work with the environment through solar panels, water recycling and large gardens but never felt like we missed out on any comfort in the process and the hotel was at capacity. 4 hours of ac at night is more than enough to cool the room as the traditional building materials here regulate temperature so very well. Follow the Google maps directions, the road is dirt but not bad at all and there are many signs along the way to help you navigate. You'll love it here!

DO NOT EAT OVER HERE. My 18 month old baby got serious gastroenteritis and we had to take her to a hospital in a foreign country which scared the hell out of us. We got to know she got gastroenteritis from something she ate. we straight away knew it was from here as their food hygiene standards were disgusting! 1) bird poop on eating tables and they didn't clean it up when asked instead just placed the food tray on top. 2) dead fly in the bottle of salad dressing. 3) bugs crawling on restaurant and reception sofas. 4) disgusting kitchen when I went to find someone to heat water for the baby's formula. 5) cat feces around the restaurant and places to eat. 5) spitted out seeds in our olive condiments. 6) swimming pool was green 7) gave us bread fallen on the floor that had ants, earth, grass, cat feces in places etc (didnt bother getting new) and God knows how many times they gave us leftover food like this and even if they had swapped the bread I wouldn't trust them (for all you know they could bring the same one back)... from all this, you can imagine what their standards are when cooking food. The staff was sweet and friendly but you could tell they did not have basic hygiene training/understanding and it wasn't taken seriously. Needs inspection if wants to continue running and the inspector needs to go undercover and stay there for a couple of days but eat somewhere else

We booked this last minute and were happily surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and there was a lot of it! We had dinner and breakfast. The dinner was great and was 35€ for two people which we thought was quite reasonable and the breakfast was included. The room was large and very clean. It is obvious that this is an old building so the fixtures are not new, but still felt really nice. The only thing that needed some attention was the pool - it was green so we didn't swim.
The pool was not clean.

A good location away from the town with a pleasant garden. Very friendly staff who provided good food and entertainment. A good starting point for bird-watching walks in the immediate area.
A bit tricky to find the location. SatNav needed to help negotiate narrow streets but some signs helped. Would have been helpful to have been warned that they would not accept Visa card payment, even though they said they did on the booking information.

This place is just amazing, it’s in the beginning of the desert , very peaceful and all eco made, including the rooms, Minoun and the staff where so welcoming and we had to enjoy à songs in the night near to the fire 🔥, the tea where offered non stop and the smells of the herbs planted was just magic, the breakfast was gorgeous and delicious made home, even those that everything was eco friendly we had electricity all the night and the water was hot due the photovoltaic installation, it was just amazing, thank you guys for this incredible moment.😍

The staff were great. Ibrahim did everything to make the stay good. The eco ethos is to be applauded and the huge bed and bathroom were very good. The room was decorated in traditional berber style and the lodge is very quiet and peaceful.
It is difficult to find through rough roads in a suburb of Ouarzazate and the advice to download maps.me was invaluable. The journey across stony ground probably requires a vehicle suitable for the terrain not a 4x4 jeep but not a small family car either.
The heating is solar powered. It only comes on at 8pm for 2 hours. Consequently by 10 the room is getting cold and in the morning it was below 4c. (Ice on the car). Solar eco is laudable but not if it makes the guests very uncomfortable.
We came to the lodge as birdwatchers drawn by the famous lake and booked a "lake view" room. There is no lake and clearly hasn't been one for some time judging by the vegetation across the landscape.
Wi-Fi was very poor and intermittent.
The lodge was unable to take cards and we had to drive to the town following a moped and hand him 1000 dhs withdrawn from a bank at extra expense.

The view is amazing the staff and food too. Very welcoming.
With a child it is a little far to walk to the city.

Mimoun was there to greet us when we arrived. We were late arriving and he made sure we got food and organised a full day of activities for us the following day. We loved the campfire and music in the evening. I would highly recommend The Ecolodge to anyone. A must see in Morocco 🇲🇦.
Nothing to dislike. A fantastic experience. Great people.

Beautiful dessert location away from the town. Facilities were tastefully designed in keeping with Berber tradition and set in a lovely garden. The chicken tajine with olives that we had for dinner was honestly the best tajine we ate in Morocco, and the breakfast tajines were also delicious; in fact, the breakfast was exceptional all around. Very helpful staff advised on things to do in the area. Exceptional value.
The shower situation is not up to par. We were advised to let the hot water run for 3-5 minutes because it is solar-heated and takes a long time to get to the tap. Not only did it seem incredibly wasteful to let all that water go down the drain in the desert, but I never actually got any hot water at all. Our family in an adjoining room eventually got hot water but not through the shower head. Even though this was a bummer, I would still stay here again. It is charming and magical.

Dinner was excellent on the live music after he’s just spot-on
Being an ecolodge you have to get used to have a shower in the evening more than in the morning since the water is warmed via solar panel

Great location well outside of Ouarzazate (there was no lake though). Felt secluded. Even though the last 5 mins of the drive was off road, the 2WD rental car handled it fine. Room was huge with multiple beds. Food was yum (with a vegan option) as was the wine. Resident cats were very friendly to us, but not to each other.
Cold showers but that was to be expected and we arrived quite late so didn’t think to ask anyone for help.
