About this house rental
Located in Peterborough, this attractive house for $126 per night is a great option for your next break. The Great Ocean Rd shack is situated in picturesque Peterborough which is right dab smack in the middle of some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see. The shack sits on a river front property so you can look out over the water as you dine on your tea. The main beach is a 5min leisurely stroll along the riverbank and features stunning rock pools for swimming on hot days. Scenery all within 10mins drive include the gorgeous Bay Of Islands, The Grotto, London Bridge, The Arch and Port Campbell Jetty. A little further away but still close you can see the Twelve Apostles and Melba Gully (rainforest) where you can view glow worms on a damp night (a magical sight). Locally take in the breathtaking views along the scenic walk which includes the Bay of Martyrs, Hallidale Point, Worm Bay, the Rock Pools and a spectacular cliff top 9 hole golf course. Short driving distances to the townships of Port Campbell, Timboon and Warrnambool ensure plenty of shopping choices. The shack itself is fully self-contained, including all linen. It can sleep up to 6 people, has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, laundry, lounge, dining room, kitchen and fenced verandah. The bedding is set up as follows; there is a queen bed in the main room, a bunk with queen below and single on top in another room and a double couch bed. A perfect destination for families or couples who are looking for a simple, quiet getaway or looking to explore the great outdoors - secluded and unspoilt beaches, fishing, swimming, diving, snorkeling, surfing, walking, playgrounds, golf and tennis ensure a fantastic time is had by all. "For your added security, this property is only managed in Australia and we never request payments be made to overseas bank accounts"

I'm not sure it's possible to rave enough about the shack - it is perfectly situated, with easy access by foot or car to a wide range of activities. It reminded me strongly of childhood beach vacations where the mix of pragmatic features and nostalgic elements were ideal. Lovely large yard. The perfect place for daydreams and board games.

Nearly every time we thought of something we needed it was in a cupboard or drawer(we left 2 stubby coolers in a drawer for future guests). Beds were comfortable and the lack of TV reception wasn't a major problem because we had an Optus wifi dongle and took down a bunch of comedy dvd's - so much better than watching the news these days. We would definitely stay again.

Wow what a beautiful.We arrived late on a Friday night. When we woke up in the morning and saw the inlet with a 180 degree view we where blown away.The property is very close to all the major tourist attractions. It is well cleaned and has all clean linen and towels. The boys where able to kick a football out side on the large lawn block.Next time we will bring our fishing rods. Defiantly will be revisiting

We arrived late on a Friday night. When we woke up in the morning and saw the inlet with a 180 degree view we where blown away.

Tranquil and Restful Location
We enjoyed our stay at Peterborough and Debbie was an excellent host who communicated well. The house was comfortable and in a very quiet location. It was lovely to look out across the inlet. The enclosed verandah at the rear of the house was roofed, large and enclosed, totally secure for our dogs, although the yard was not securely fenced. A very restful holiday.

Poor Cleanliness and Outdated
The house is in poor cleanliness. One of the room (and bed) has smell of vomit. Spider webs everywhere and we have killed not less than 20 spiders soon we checked in. I guess the house is cleaner at the time we checked out than before we checked in !
We booked for 7 people but the house has only 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed that sleeps 3 people plus two sofas (not sofa bed). The sofas are so short that they are so uncomfortable to sleep on.
The price does not come cheap too.

The location is everything: that's what describes this place the best. Situated on the river bank, aside of everything else, staying in this property brings peace of mind and relaxation. We'd love to stay there for longer

We were quite happy with the place. It got a nice surrounding. Although the place does not have any fancy facilities, it was more than enough for someone who is looking for a relaxing quiet place.
Very close to the 12 apostles, so if that is on your bucket list, this is the place to say.

We stayed 2 night in this lovely little house. The location is amazing, in front of the beach, next to the 12 apostles and some great spots we had a great stay despite some little spiders and the sofa bed which was not the best bed ever you do forget all those little things thanks to the location and the peace and quiet of the location.
