About this house rental
Our home was updated during the last half of 2021 and in early 2022 with new cabinets, countertops, appliances, sinks, faucets and dimmable recessed lighting in kitchen, baths, wet-bar and laundry; all new showers and a free-standing tub in the baths; all new walnut hardwood flooring throughout with new tile in the bathrooms and laundry rooms; new high-end zoned central air conditioning, new ceiling fans; new lighting; all new Cal King mattresses and box springs in all 3 beds; 3 new leather sofas and 3 new leather love-seats in the living, sitting, and family rooms; all new TVs and TV/internet cable; 2 new front-load washers 2 new dryers; and repainted almost all of the interior. Outside, enjoy some of the best snorkeling and surfing on Maui right in front of the home while your friends watch from the spa or pool. The oceanfront home is located on a beautiful cove that is home to numerous green sea turtles. The lanai area includes a pool and spa which overlooks the cove, ocean, and the island of Molokai. There is direct access to the cove from the house. The home is located on a gated palm-tree lined private road. Next to the property is a 1/2-acre grass field that guests have access to. The oceanfront home features 3 spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom has a new Cal King bed, new recessed dimmable lighting, a new flat screen TV, new walnut floors, a new ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, new paint, and new air conditioning that can be adjusted for that specific bedroom. The upstairs master bedroom has a Cal King bed and the attached bathroom has a large tub and separate shower. The second upstairs bedroom has a Cal King bed and bath with a walk-in shower. The main floor bedroom has a Cal King bed, a bathroom with a walk-in curb-less shower, and a lanai. The home has a large, fully equipped kitchen with breakfast eating area and an adjacent family room. There is a separate dining area which seats 6 and a living room with wet bar. Additionally, the home has a laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers and a double car garage. The home has wireless internet, cable TV, and gas barbeque. Our present cancelation policy conditions the return of your payment on whether your days re-rent after you cancel. For example, if all of your days re-rent at the same rate or more, you would receive all of your money back. If none of your days re-rent, you would not receive your money back. Also, we have a 5 bedroom, 6 1/2 bath beachfront house with pool and spa in Maui (VRBO #445750) and our companies own Silver Mountain Ski Resort, waterpark, golf course, etc. in Kellogg, Idaho right off of I-90, as well as 49 Degrees North Ski Resort, which is 1 hour north of Spokane, WA. All prices based on a 7-night stay (14 nights during the Christmas/New Year's period). If the booking will result in an unrentable gap in our calendar, the nightly rate may increase. Most stays are Saturday to Saturday, and stays that are not Saturday to Saturday may be at a higher rate. Guest agrees to complete, sign, email and mail the Rental Agreement within 48 hours for booking the house. Booking the home acknowledges acceptance of Rental Agreement. The home is fully permitted and approved under Vacation Rental Permit #STWM 2013-0020; TA-031-582-0032-01; GE-031-582-0032-01. House Rules in Rental Agreement.

Do not hesitate to book this gorgeous house. It is spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. Beyond that, the owner, Tryg (who lives nearby), made sure we had everything we needed and responded immediately to questions. The location is perfect, on a bay with abundant turtles, and whales visible just beyond. Beaches are 5-10 minutes away, as are restaurants, groceries, and anything else you might need. We have rented many VRBO properties in many locations and can say confidently that this one delivers a 5-Star experience!

Great property in a quiet and beautiful spot. Easy walks to some nice beaches, and lots of great restaurants in short drives. Good snorkeling (when sea was calm) with unavoidable turtles. The house is well remodeled and has everything you need. Owner is super friendly and responsive and wants to help make the stay great.

The word "extraordinaire" which means exceptional and marvelous truly describe both the property and Tryg the owner. The home which is situated in a quiet gated neighborhood is just gorgeous. Beautifully decorated interior where high end style meets comfort and easy living, where views of the ocean are visible throughout the house, each bedroom is spacious with it's own full bathroom and the kitchen is fully equipped. We spent most of our days and meals outside on the lanai next to the pool and hot tub where tropical trees, flowers, birds and butterflies surrounded us. The best backyard feature was the stairs under a canopy of colorful bougainvillea that led down to "turtle bay" for some of the best snorkeling on Maui. If you love snorkeling, this is your house!! You will see every type of fish and swim with sea turtles. We swam with 20+ turtles one morning. Amazing!!
Also amazing is Tryg, the owner. I had read all the accolades of previous renters and I can say they are all true. Tryg embodies the warmth of local "ho'okipa" which is the Hawaiian word for "hospitality of complete giving". He went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect during our stay and immediately responded to any questions or requests. His warmth, generosity and genuine caring were tremendous. He also has a great sense of humor. He even invited us to watch the sea turtles come in for the night at his property across the street which was being rennovated. Cannot wait to return!!!

Our family of 4 stayed here the week of the hurricane winds and subsequent Lahaina fire. In addition to the horrible devastation for the people of Lahaina, the entire west side of Maui was without power and cell service. Tryg (owner and property manager) was a literal lifeline for us. He checked in on us frequently, shared food and water with us, brought us an assortment of flashlights, and reached out to our family on the mainland to let them know we were safe. Just an all-around great guy! As if that weren't endorsement enough, the house and location were lovely. A comfortable, well-stocked house with an amazing view and access to Honokeana Bay for swimming and snorkeling with the green turtles. Once the west side of Maui is able to regroup and reopen for tourism, you won't regret staying in this lovely home.

This home was hands down the best experience we’ve had renting on a vacation! Besides the phenomenal location, the space was everything we needed and wanted in a home for our week in Maui.
Tryg was so easy to work with and an incredibly gracious host. The beds were comfortable, the pool an absolute dream and the home itself is in absolute pristine condition. We absolutely cannot wait to go back!

This is a gorgeous property. We loved seeing and snorkeling with the turtles every day and the view from the pool is outstanding. Tryg was incredibly helpful and responsive. We will definitely be back!

We took our two kids who recently graduated from college to Maui for their grad present and it was an incredible experience, starting with the house we rented from Tryg and Barb. An amazing place, with spectacular views, topflight furnishings, a well-stocked kitchen with everything you need, and of course, access to the cove which never disappoints from the abundance of turtles to the many fish and corals you can see. For those who prize good snorkeling as we do, it doesn’t get much better than this; its own private stairwell to the cove, you must cross one slightly tricky rock formation but once you do so, you’ll feel at ease doing it again. There is a sandy and shallow part of the cove where you enter that allows you to easily put on and take off your snorkeling gear while in the water. The water while we were there was always calm and safe. Finally, we can’t say enough about the hospitality and communication we had with Tryg; he went above and beyond, attending to any questions we had, and was incredibly accommodating when our flight was delayed. We can’t wait to get back!

We loved our stay at 20 Papaua! The house has been recently renovated and was fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom items. This spared us from buying more (and potentially wasting) refills.
The living spaces were comfortable although we didn’t entertain due to owner’s strict capacity warnings.
The pool and side yard were nice and we appreciated being able to enter the bay from the property, although it is not an easy feat.
Neighbors were friendly and it was an added plus that the host owns multiple properties in the culdesac, so we could encourage family and friends to rent their other homes coincident with our trip.
Barb and Tryg are super responsive and clearly take great pride in their property(s).
We appreciate their warm invitation to return. ◡̈

This property is exactly as advertised, absolutely amazing. I have snorkeled for years and have never been surrounded by so many sea turtles. The house was very clean and well appointed. The property host Tryg had great communication and was very helpful when I reached out to him. Having direct stairway access to the cove was a highlight of the property and we can't wait to come back.

This property is amazing and Tryg & Barb went above and beyond to make our stay special. They had decorated the home when we arrived to celebrate 2 milestone birthdays that took place during our trip. The property was immaculately clean and well maintained, tons of water toys available for use, perfect location, and stunning views. This property is paradise! Hope to see you next year!

Our family has stayed at several VRBO properties on the Hawaiian Islands but this home was our favorite. Why? 1 - Location is great! Views are amazing. A stone staircase leads to a rocky cove below from which you can launch into the water on a board or with snorkeling equipment. Not ideal for the inexperienced. You can walk to a sandy beach although there are no sidewalks on this busy road. You can drive 3-minutes to sandy Kapalua Beach but going early or late in day is recommended as parking is limited. Beach trail head also starts here. 2 - House. pool, and hot tub are awesome! King beds and bedrooms are great; mattresses comfy. The outdoor patio table faces the cove and the ocean--we spent hours outside enjoying the view. 3 - Owner/manager is very friendly, helpful, and goes out of his way to make sure all is well. Our family of five adults and one baby had a great stay at this fabulous home.

The was the best family vacation we’ve ever had. The house was perfect. Spacious, well-appointed, amazing views, incredible location, everything we needed for our kids (boys 6 and 9), my spouse and I and the grandparents. Our kids swam every day in the pool, we snorkeled with the sea turtles, played in the waves at Napili and Kapalua beaches, walked the coastal trail every day, made delicious food and ate on the porch, visited with local friends, saw rainbows (many) and whales, hiked to the blowhole, finished the 1000 piece puzzle and made memories we will cherish forever. The house is open, light, spacious, and has everything. Family needs - from Jenga and puzzles to pull toys, beach chairs and boogie boards. We’re not even at the airport yet and we’re already looking for dates to book for next year!

We loved our stay at this house in Maui. We could never get tired of the view from the back patio. We could see the nearby island of Molokai, rainbows almost daily, waves rolling, beautiful foliage, etc. We had access to the bay through a staircase that reached the shore. Turtles were in abundance both in the water and on the rocks every afternoon. Snorkeling right from our rental house was a huge plus. We didn't use the pool but hopping into the hot tub was a daily treat. The neighborhood was quiet and even though the neighbors were close on one side, they didn't bother us at all. The house was clean and neat. The leather furniture was comfortable and so were the beds. There is a fridge in the kitchen and another in the garage which allowed us to keep plenty of cold drinks on hand. The house included beach towels, a portable cooler & beach chairs that we enjoyed on our beach days. We were pleased to find shampoo, toilet paper, garbage bags & other necessities to last our entire 2 weeks. The property owner kept us informed on everything we needed to know. My only complaint is the statue of a girl outside the upstairs bedrooms looks very life-like in the dark. It scared a few of us more than once! We had plenty of laughs and made lots of great memories at this house in Maui. We would stay here again.

After two years of putting family time on hold, we decided to host a Hawaii vacation for our adult children. This home was absolutely perfect for us - great entertaining space, spotless (and I have high standards), easy access to the beach and we snorkeled everyday. Tryg and Barb were FANTASTIC hosts - so responsive and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate to return again!

I have lived on this island on and off for 40 years this property is the best place I have ever stayed everything is perfect the location the beautifully appointed home gorgeous gardens an incredible view and the most exciting thing ,turtles we were able to swim with them and observe them from our lanai We also loved the gourmet kitchen as I am a chef and it was a pleasure to work there Our host Tryg was welcoming and had helpful information for us All in all One of the best vacations on Maui and anywhere! We are actually re-booking for next year

The house itself is beautiful. Everything in it was basically brand new. Clean and well kept. Location is great. Near everything we wanted to do with amazing snorkeling with the turtles right out the back door.

Aside from the home being gorgeous and the location great it is the owner that takes it to the next level. I have booked properties in over 30 states and provinces and I have not met a property owner as nice and as helpful. The home was well stocked with everything you need. Wonderful property with all of the amenities in a wonderful location. The views are outstanding, and the access to amazing snorkeling is unparalleled. We took a boat snorkeling trip, and realized it didn’t compare to what was right outside our door. The house is updated, clean, well appointed and the owners have the perfect pitch between being available and giving us space. We will definitely be back!

Not thing short of amazing!!
We travel a lot and stay in many vacation rentals, and this was one of the best!! The views, the space, location and oh my the snorkeling in that cove!!! Even hard to please teenagers LOVED!! Last time we were in Maui we paid for a snorkeling cruise and it didn’t even compare to the snorkeling right there at the cove. Just amazing. So many sea turtles!! We will be back!

Awesome Place
The house is beautiful with great views. The beds were comfortable and everything is top notch. The first floor almost has too much space, with it’s 3 living rooms. We had a hard time deciding which table to eat at, the kitchen, the formal or outside. Outside won most of the time, so we could look for turtles. 😆We saw more turtles in one day in the bay than we have seen in all of our previous trips combined!!!! The outside shower has hot water, which is fantastic for washing the sand off after snorkeling. All in all a fabulous place!

We Loved This House!
We absolutely loved this house. The location was great, the access to the cove for snorkeling and swimming was a beautiful private covered stone stairway. The snorkeling was incredible and there were turtles every day! The house was beautiful and very comfortable. The owners were so nice and also were incredibly responsive in communications and in helping with one maintenance issue that was taken care of quickly. We would LOVE to return in the future. Just beautiful!

We've been going to Maui for over thirty years now and can easily say this is the nicest place that we have stayed. Not only was it relaxing and beautiful but had fantastic views and great location. The access to the cove was convenient and stunning. Communication with Tryg was timely and excellent and we can highly recommend this property as an ideal getaway.

Private paradise
The remodel on this home is incredibly perfect. The double washer and dryer could not be more appreciated. The kitchen is function and modern with all new appliances and the addition of air conditioning was an unexpected bonus. The entrance to the cove (with amazing snorkeling and turtles) is like something out of a fairy tale. Covered in vines and beautiful flowers. This home is a treasure, and you will not want to miss out on spending time in this little piece of paradise. Perfect in every way
