Great location for stargazing

The hot tub, scenery, location, privacy, electric grill, shower, stargazing

Lack of oven, difficult to accommodate 4 adults as beds were not full size

Suprisingly beautiful. We would have loved to stay longer.

The location is perfect if you want to visit the Westmann Islands. The setting is amazing, at the foot of the Eyjafjallajökull, near a small canyon with beatiful (short) hiking trails - not to miss if you are staying there. Sweet small community with pittoresque little church. Birds and border collies greet you in the morning.

Super hosts and would highly recommend to travellers on southern coast of Iceland.

Great location in beautiful surroundings. Cottage had everything that we needed and was very comfortable. Great to see the dairy cattle, farm and vintage machinery.

The dreamiest cottages in remote Iceland :)

It was just wonderful - the location and scenery were spectacular. It felt like a dream - we will return for sure. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Cosy, comfy cottage in prime location for chasing waterfalls

Gorgeous little spot a stone's throw away from some of the best waterfalls we saw whilst in Iceland! We also enjoyed a great walk up beyond the property, and could have spent all day playing with the sweet dog. It was far too windy and rainy to enjoy the hot tub on this occasion, but sure a soak would have made this stay over the top!

Good base to explore the South West Iceland area.

checkin, via ferrata walk, location, signs to get to place, hard working family, property was warm. It was a good base to explore the Skogar area.

The need to clean thooughly at end of stay - messages on wall stating visitors had to clean the property thoroughly before leaving. We are clean tidy people, but were concerned that we were relying on the cleaning ability of previous occupants for our own health & safety, instead of a professional cleaning team between occupants. Outside mat and decking were gritty dirty, mainly due to well behaved dogs dropping stones for you top play with them - this meant more grit in cabin. Hot tub was a bit scummy, so needed clean before I felt safe to use. This was early in our tour, so the tracks seemed rough to get to the cabin. Platform images give impression that the cabin was in the hills, instead it was at the base of hills with flat access from the main road, which would have been more reassuring in snow / ice.. More information about how appliances , TV worked would have been helpful.

Beautiful cabin, highly recommended

Amazing location with beautiful walks on your doorstep. Katrin and her family were very helpful throughout our stay. The cabin was as described, wifi for all devices, great hot tub and friendly dogs to play with the children. An ideal base to explore the South Coast!

Would have been nice to have disney+ or netflix on the TV to watch a film together as we were staying for 5 nights but this is the only improvement I could really think of

Brilliant place to see the Northern Lights!

Wonderful warm cottage with plenty of space for 3 teenagers. the walk to the crater from the farm was a fantastic break from our travels in the car too!

We had a great time, even though there was a huge storm and we could not go anywhere we had to stay at the cottage the w

Ásólfsskáli Cottage is a wonderful accommodation! The house is perfect, it has everything you need. It is warm and welcoming, we could see and feel that is was build with love. The house is perfect for 6-7 people, maybe even more. It was clean and warm, our bed was comfortable, the bathroom was also nice, kitchen is equipped with everything, there is a toaster, coffee machine, pancake and sandwich maker, pots and glasses, and teapots and so on. We could even find a meat thermometer! There is a great bbq too, we made wonderful grilled lamb and chicken. The hot tub is superb, easy and quick to fill, nice to watch the stars and the aurora from it, even in rough weather! The location of the house is great, at the feet of beautiful mountains, close to a lot of attractions, close to the Ring Road but still at a quiet place. The internet was surprisingly strong, we could easily stream movies. And the bonus is Mosi, the owners dog, so sweet and playful, he came to greet us upon arrival and every morning and evening. Pro tip: bring a ball, Mosi loves balls! :) I absolutely recommend this place, and we too will come back!

We had a great time and would recommend this cottage to anyone.

Check-in was easy and we went right to our cottage. It was very clean and easy to operate everything inside. The owner then came immediately when we called to help us fill up the hot tub.

The beds were a little uncomfortable compared to what we are used to, but not that bad.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable cottage with a hot tub set in beautiful surroundings. Our family of 4 loved staying here so cosy and we loved meeting Mosi the dog. Make sure you throw his stone for him when he comes to visit you!

It was clean and had free coffee for the guests. Late checkin and checkout were a big plus!

The matresses were not very comfortable and the rooms were small. The jacuzzi tub was empty, it would have been nice to have it prepared in advance.
