Would not stay again

Location handy to town . Showers were great . Overall layout of apartment was good . Pool area was very nice . View was good .

Very noisy apartment with weird acoustics . on two of the nights we could clearly hear the elevator going up and down through the air vent in the ceiling of the bedroom . The aircon was very noisy and annoying with a distinct whine , which was hard to sleep with . The view was nice but could not be enjoyed on the balcony due to all the shouting and screaming kids in the property next door which was a kids adventure water slide area . Lounge chairs were hard and uncomfortable .

Not worth the $$$ to stay at this hotel.

The apartment was new and modern.

Sadly the hotel seemed exhausted and tired. the grounds were noisy from next door, the facilities were either closed or busy. A lot of faults I. facilities. plus the bed were very uncomfortable, both had neck issues once home.

I loved the big apartment with fantastic views located perfectly to the heart of the Gold Coast and a barista in the foyer for the mandatory morning coffee served by the most lovely young lady

The stay was nice, quiet and comfortable. Wish the pool was heated.

View from our floor 25 was nice.

Location and staff didn’t provide the hair dryer when requested. The one in the apartment wasn’t working.

An awesome location for a family and large group of friends to use as a base to explore the Gold Coast.

Location, pool, beds were super comfortable, staff were very accommodating, apartment was well fitted to accommodate a busy family to maximise their stay in QLD.

After hours arrival was challenging. More explicit instructions on use of the intercom would have helped streamline this process.

Wouldn't recommend this place to stay if you like your accommodation to be clean and tidy

The pool was nice

I had a traveller's card which I had used a couple times before but when I went to pay for the accommodation it would not accept, so this took over an hour to sort out which was very frustrating when we just wanted to get into our accommodation after a long day of traveling. When we got into the room it was hot (air con wasn't turned on), and it was filthy. There was a bloody booger flicked/smeared onto the wall in the bedroom, there was stuff spilt on the floor, there were other people's belongings under the couch (high enough off the ground that a cleaner should have seen it), the pillowcases had questionable stains on them so we found the cleanest one to use- then mid stay when our room was tidied they were put back on the bed 🤮 and to top it off the outside furniture needs a good clean. The cot that we asked for was given to us with no bedding, and the 'mattress' was paper-thin and hard.

Great staff, free onsite parking, but the rooms were dirty and had a weird smell

The staff were amazing and the view was quite good. Was not too far from Surfers Paradise Central to walk or to take the car. Was extremely handy that they had free parking on-site that was not an additional charge. Pool was nice and they have a good little café in the lobby.

The room was quite dirty and had a weird smell. All of the walls were scuffed, and we had to clean the bathroom again before use. Also, bear in mind that the apartments are not serviced, so you will need to obtain clean linen and towels by yourself. Also thought it was a bit strange that we had to remove our own rubbish when there were bins provided in the room. Finally, aircon turns off automatically after 1 hour of no motion, or if you have either the door or a window open. This means you wake up several times throughout the night and it is steaming hot in the middle of summer.

Fine for the price.

View was great, beds were soft and comfortable, location was good, price was good. We asked for a late checkout and it was granted. The general cleaning of the room was done well.

The walls need a re-paint there are marks everywhere, the hallway carpet needs cleaning, the couches are stained, the single beds are a custom size and are smaller then usual. There was an awful waste smell in the hallway which reception said all cleaning staff had finished for the day by 5pm and that maybe a stick needed to be shoved down the waste shoot to get rid of rubbish that was stuck. Not Ruby's fault but i got a few scam emails and txts from booking.com from this booking asking for card detail verification.

Reception is awesome and helpful. Room is spacious but definitely needs an upgrade renovations.

Very noisy kids park next to the building started every morning 8am-8pm. Nonstop.

It’s not value for money, bathroom was coverd in mould, floor was dirty my white socks turn black in a minute.

Good location! Bed was comfortable!

Very disappointed every were was dirty! Mould in bathroom ceiling and shower area needed maintenance not normal cleaning! We told the staff that floor needs mopping and never heard of them, we stayed 8 night no room service at all you need to go and ask the receptionist for everyday items like toilet paper and etc! Elevator floor was wet all day because of people using pool! Is there any instructions for not using elevator with wet clothes !!!

Very disappointed in the room and it affected our whole holiday - we won’t stay there again.

Location

The room was nothing as advertised in the images. Bathroom fan ran constantly. View of the car park awful. Size of the apartment not as expected from the images / especially given the price paid. Cafe was closed, restaurant closed.

Amazing property, amazing location fantastic holiday

The room was large and comfortable, views were amazing. Close to beach and Cavill Avenue. Close to all locations, shopping centre, Sea World and other family things to do. Will definitely stay here again.

I can’t think of anything we were very happy , a bigger pool for the size of property but we were so busy we didn’t use anyway and beach a short walk away.

It was spacious, comfortable.

The blinds made it uncomfortable and bright in the mornings. Guests in other rooms were very loud throughout the night.

A waste of time and money. Would not stay again after been treated the way we were treated.

The staff were horrible and rude. The even tried calling us before 6pm to pay for the room before we even got there so my husband had to pull over while driving to the hotel to sort payment right there and then so they wouldn’t cancel our booking even though we were stuck in traffic and half an hour out from arrival. We told them how far off we were on the check in reception were open until 8 so we couldn’t understand why they needed that so urgently. The staff were rude when we finally got to the hotel and did not make us feel welcome. We also booked this on booking.com months in advance and we checked the price the day before we arrived and we were paying $1138 for two nights and then saw the exact same room was now priced at $845 for two nights. We instantly called them and they refused to price match and took the ad down instantly while I was still speaking to them on the phone. We sent them emails with screenshots of the pricing with date and time stamps and they refused to price match. We also noted that once we had checked in the night we arrived, 1 hour later the same cheaper price was back up online. Horribly disappointed. Would not stay again nor recommend.

Nightmare

Shocking service from beginning to end. After travelling from Sydney to the Gold Coast in the pouring rain with two small children in the back of the car we were informed we were not actually able to stay at the property. It was almost 8 pm on a Friday evening, so we then had to drive around the Gold Coast for hours to find other accommodation with our small children. A total nightmare. The reception of Stephen was very rude, unhelpful and unapologetic, and we were received no compensation. We were initially denied a refund until I finally got in touch with senior management to begrudgingly refunded us. A terrible experience and completely unethical leaving a family stranded with no accommodation at that time of night in torrential rain.

as i checked in for family of 4, and i really hope that the utilities (bowels, forks are x4). also there is no oven gloves in my apartment. and i didnt know we could use room service?

Never again.

The location.

We stayed at Ruby two years ago and it was lovely. This time around was very disappointing. The apartment was filthy- dirty walls that had splash marks all over them, couches that had very obvious and very bad staining, the floor was filthy ( especially under and in between furniture). The bed sheets were dirty and stained. The washing machine had mould growing in the barrel and a thick layer of sand around the door. It was actually disgusting and given the amount of money we paid for it, I truly expected better and wouldn’t stay there again.

Loved our stay at the Ruby Gold Coast.

Great location. Good staff. The Cafe was appreciated.

The room had two light power supplies missing, and a blocked shower drain. All fixed on day 2. No hot water on day three, was fixed on day three. A restaurant on site would be a great help to our stay.

Good location but cleaning could be better.

The location was good, walking distance to surfers central. Beds were comfortable and the views were good able to see the beach/rivers.

Cleaning wasn't 100%.. alot of dust and showers had a weird stain on tiles. Also inside the washing machine on the rubbers edge was moldy. Could have provided more cleaning supplies such as dishwasher liquid and plastic bag for rubbish.
