About this house rental
Nestled in Swannanoa, this charming house for $375 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. This house is on the end of a private driveway off of the main road. Your front yard is a bold creek and bamboo forest with a scenic old barn. There is a large front porch with rocking chairs and porch swing that faces the creek, bamboo forest and mountains. Behind the house are trails that go on for miles. The creek is always beautiful and very clean as it comes directly off the watershed. We have a large fire pit, table with chairs, charcoal grill and hammock directly on the creek. The inside of this newly remodeled house is very spacious with a large living room that opens into a beautiful well stocked kitchen with dining area. All this opens up to the large front porch via french doors with all the views and the creek steps away. Directly off the kitchen is a screen porch with additional table and chairs facing the back mountain. The master bedroom is large with a king size memory foam mattress and a sleeper sofa and has it's own private bath. It has views of the creek and a large side yard with huge trees. The other 2 bedrooms have queen size beds and have a bathroom between them with views of the creek and back mountain. There are 3 bedrooms plus the sleeper sofa in the master and 2 couches in the living room so you could sleep 8 people with no problem. We would prefer to have 8 people max. but let us know your situation. We have a nice TV in the living room with a large selection of DVD's and a HDMI cord to attach to your laptop etc. Sorry no cable, we do have ROKU which provides lots of free movies, some TV and news. Remember this is a place to getaway from it all. The free WIFI works great so you will have access to everything else. There is a Redbox at Ingles grocery store as well as a Starbuck's 5 minutes away. There are miles of hiking trails directly behind the property or you can just stick your feet (or body) in the creek by the fire. All this seclusion with the excitement of Asheville or Black Mtn. 15 minutes away.

This beautiful little home is hidden by a copse of bamboo trees. It is peaceful and quiet and has everything you could possibly want. As we cookedceach night on the outside grill we could hear the stream running beside us. It was so amazing to be there. Thank you so much Chris and Anne.

We had such a nice stay! The property backs up to a hiking trail that I didn’t get enough time to explore fully. There’s a lovely creek in front and plenty of seating and hammocks to enjoy the view. The owners are lovely and we all enjoyed our time there.

This property was idyllic and the place very clean! The kids enjoyed the creek and the swing and the adults enjoyed the front porch and the beautiful flowers. We loved it and the hosts were wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

Special place to unwind with children
Our 2 families loved it here. Beautiful home with all we needed, and sprawling peaceful grounds for kids to play and explore. Only 20 minutes from town, but far enough to unwind and relax. Pops of artistic color and craft throughout home and gardens. Only suggestion would be for coffee upon arrival and addition of washer/dryer (our kids burned through clothes playing in creek). Chris and Amy have built a dream. Congrats and best wishes from Portland, Or and Atlanta, Ga. :)

We had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable and clean, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Perfectly located in Swannanoa we were able to get to Black Mountain and Asheville with ease. We enjoyed also being beside the creek and hanging out at the fire pit. The owners were very friendly and accessible.

Great location for Mountain Getaway
We had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable and clean, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Amazing property
We enjoyed a peaceful Thanksgiving weekend at the property. The house was clean and had everything we needed to prepare our feast. The fire pit, bbq area, swing and the creek were greatly enjoyed by everyone. I will most definitely stay here again and highly recommend this gem of a property to anyone looking to get away.

Our host couldn't have bee nicer. Quiet property with a great walking trail leading to an old dairy farm. Highly recommend if you want a quiet, peaceful trip to the Asheville area.

Our experience with Anne and Chris and their home was great. The property was so beautiful and relaxing, plus it had many options to keep you entertained right on site. Our experience with Anne and Chris and their home was great. The property was so beautiful and relaxing, plus it had many options to keep you entertained right on site. Loved this place and it’s close to everywhere I wanted to go Hikers paradise and the town of Black Mtn is a must see. Chris and Anne were very nice and had lots of helpful tips about the area

Perfect
The property was perfect for us. The house was well stocked with what I needed to cook and enjoy. The location was ideal. We could get to Asheville or other venues very quickly while still feeling secluded. Our favorite part was the river. Simply sitting near it and listening to it. My teenage daughter was truly sad to leave.

Paradise by the creek!
Our family has been cooped up at home for 6 weeks now as a result of Covid-19. When the Governor announced the kids would not return to school this year, it was a punch in the gut. We needed a change of scenery and a little bit of adventure.
We stumbled on this gem in Swannanoa...just what the doctor ordered. Immaculately clean...and up fit with a delightful mix of quirky art, antiques, comfy furniture, and all the modern conveniences. And that’s just inside! The sound of the creek is Bamboo Forest was an unexpected treat. Front porch rockers...fire pit...rope swing...trailheads on site! Anne and Chris have artfully created an ideal family retreat.
Cell service (Verizon) was non existent, but the Wi-Fi is very strong. Our puppy was welcome, but there was no evidence the house had ever hosted animals...it was just that clean! The owners live on site, but we only saw them twice and it was from a (socially responsible) distance. We cannot ay enough about how much we enjoyed this spot. We will be back (maybe soon if stay at home orders remain in place). THANK YOU!

Tranquil & Quaint
We enjoyed our visit to Bold Creek Getaway. Being able to step on the front porch with a cup of coffee and listen to the creek was magical. My family and I had a wonderful, peaceful time.

Great all around, just needs some attention
I want to start off by saying these people were fantastic with communication, kindness, and privacy! I don't want this to be looked at as a BAD review, but an informative one for renters and the owners.
It's a beautiful property...just in need of a bit of tlc and more care before people come in.
I think it's really important to note in the advertising that there is a room directly attached to the house that is available to rent, or for the owners to stay in. We weren't aware of this when we rented. There's also a not so attractive area with a couple campers and things...it's fenced, but could use more privacy from the house and the house's outdoor area.
It ended up not being any sort of privacy issue--but something that should def be known ahead of time.
The cleanliness was not up to par. We found things under the beds, hair throughout, webs. Stink bugs galore, leaving us unable to open the doors or windows (because the screens are bent (and dirty)). And honestly had a strong, musty, sitting smell when we arrived.
Better stocking needed on---toilet paper, silverware.
One other BIG thing that should really be addressed is the lighting. The house is SO dark. There's a lack of basic lighting in the areas that need it most....from ceiling lighting to lamp lighting.
Overall, this is a beautiful home...wonderfully decorated...the creek is gorgeous...the location is very near to so much...the mountain walking was great...the owners were super kind...there's just some attention to the advertising that needs to be stated, and attention to the home to make it all it can be.

We had such a great time at the Bold Creek Getaway. Chris & Anne are great hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay wonderful. Loved the house. The front porch. Walking through the bamboo path and over the creek. The house was clean and had everything you needed in the kitchen to cook with. Six of us stayed in the house and it never felt overcrowded. Would highly recommend staying at Bold Creek Getaway to all our friends & family. Close to hiking trails & Asheville.
