Cooking and laundry facilities were good

The black mould in the shower/bath. Dora said she would sort it out. There are photos and comments about this from a previous guest. Also, a significant leak under the sink in the bathroom. It flooded the bathroom until we noticed a bowl conveniently placed under the leak which required emptying at least daily. Dora did offer to get a plumber in to fix it but we declined the offer as we preferred not to have people in the apartment when we were not there.

During my stay we felt like we were in our home.

We enjoyed our stay. Essencya was excellent location. Next time I will choose same place again.

The place is outside of the town. A close grocery is missing. You need to drive to shop.

we had a wonderful family week and we hope to be back soon

The apartment has literally everything you need to live. Coffee machine, dishwasher, good set of dishes, TV, great internet I have never seen in Portugal, you name it you have it. Backyard and garden in front are definitely value added. The owner is very nice and helpful, however she does not speak English beyond the very basics. Parking is not a problem and location is OK if you are planning trips by car outside of Coimbra.

The location is not perfect if you come to see the city. It is about 25-30 min walk from downtown Coimbra, a bit far from shops or restaurants.

We did not wish to be in the center of Coimbra and wanted to experience a more typical Portuguese neighborhood. The Location was great. Quick bolt ride to everything in Coimbra. We eventually rented a car and parking was not a problem and typical of Portuguese neighborhoods. Although we were in need, the Hospital is a short walk so should we need to stay due to visiting the Hospital, we will choose this again.

The street can get busy during school drop off and pickup. This was not a problem, just something to be aware of.
