This property was exactly how it is advertised. It's well appointed and clean. The location is everything. Perfect house for a family or two couples. I loved the view and would go back in a minute!! Ohh and the owner/property manager is extremely attentive and kind!!! This is a five star rating without question.

We stayed here two years ago and were so thrilled to do so again! As we remembered, the location across from the beach is top notch. Everything is spotlessly clean at check in, the "kid zone" downstairs is a dream. We love the rooftop and appreciate the new cushions! Sandy is fabulous and responsive, and we plan to book again for the future!
The only small thing that could use improvement is the bed situation in the smaller of the two upstairs bedrooms. The "bookcase bed" is pretty small and whoever sleeps there ends up rolling into the bookcase, which isn't ideal. Utilizing the trundle bed underneath is very difficult (puling it out actually made the main bed's mattress fall down through the slats) and once it is out you can't get it back in - which is not great since that door is the only access to the rooftop patio. I think swapping that out for regular queen size bed would do WONDERS for everyone's comfort.
Still, we'd not hesitate to stay here again in a heartbeat. Such a gem!

An outstanding beach home, with an ocean front view! Accommodations are superb with supplies and amenities in abundance. Extremely child friendly, games galore and an extremely well stocked kitchen. Although we did not have kids, I was so impressed with all the supplies and toys available if we did. The deck above gave us an amazing sunrise and sunset view each day. The house is filled with charm and warmth and fun. I've stayed in a few places, and this is one of the classiest ever. I hope to be returning soon. We've got wonderful memories of our 4 day-weekend and greatly appreciate the hostess' kindness and details that left us with absolutely nothing to worry about. Love, Love this place!

Beautiful home with incredible views, welcoming atmosphere and everything you could hope for. Our host welcomed us with a sweet gift basket which started the entire vacation on such a happy note. The home is wonderful with everything you could need, including toys, book, games, beach toys, chairs, etc. Sandy was incredibly helpful & responsive during our entire stay, truly a wonderful host!
The view is phenomenal and it was lovely enjoying a quiet morning or evening on the patio or rooftop looking out to the ocean waves. Some mornings I’d make coffee and walk the beach looking for shells which was such a tranquil time. The beach is beautiful and not crowded like most SoCal beaches & steps from the house. Silver Strand beach is a couple min drive down the road where you can find calmer water and a ton of sand dollars. A two minute walk to the harbor where we enjoyed delicious meals and watched seals hopping onto docks and boats entering the harbor. If you want a relaxing beach vacation in a beautiful home at a quiet beach, this is the place!! We would definitely stay at The Kid again!

This place was great for our family of 4. Sandy, the owner, was fantastic. The location was great being right across the street from the beach. There is a vacant lot on the sand across the street so you can see the ocean from the unit, which is a nice perk. Easy 5 star review.

We just returned from a week stay at The Kid. I had LOTS of questions for the property owner since we were taking parents in their 70s and I was worried about mobility up and down stairs. There was plenty of room, the place was clean and well-stocked. We really enjoyed the quietness of the Oxnard area but the close drive to Ventura and other places (checked out the Reagan Presidential Library.) The beds, including the futon, were comfortable. We never had more than 6 people at a time. However, I would say that 8 adults would be tight in this place. The view each of the ocean all day long was amazing! We will be back!

This is third year we stayed in Hollywood beach and first time renting from The Kid. Can't say enough good things about the Kid, the location, the thoughtfulness of the host, the toys for the kids, the tasteful decor, we can go on and on with this list. We really enjoyed our stay!

Our stay was wonderful. The host was always available and made it a point to check in and offer late check out without us asking since they didn’t have anyone coming in after. The home is clean, beautiful, functional, and peaceful. The gap lot across the street was fantastic and allowed us to see the beach. Coffee on the roof each morning was fantastic. It was close to anything we needed. The welcome gift basket was lovely. Definitely will return if presented the opportunity!

THE KID was the perfect family friendly getaway in Oxnard right across the street from the beach. The house was stocked with activities for kids (books, toys, games) which was perfect for the rainy New Years weekend. And you can't beat the location right across the street from the beach. Sandy is a fantastic host. 5 stars!

We were so happy to find this lovely house right across the street from the sand with a view of the ocean. Clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It was just two of us this time but it would be great for 4-5 people. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. Very nice host. We’ll be back!

Excellent Beach House
The house has direct access to the beach which is very convenient. It is well supplied and even has toy bins for children and a garage with beach equipment in case you forgot your umbrella or buggy board. There is a deck up top which if fun for star gazing or staring at the fire light. The bedding was clean and the mattresses were in good condition. The bathrooms were well stocked with towels and basics like soap and shampoo. It is conveniently located near a breakfast place about 1 block away (easy walk). Beach is clean and not a lot of people. The beach stretches for miles so good for walking. Overall a decent place in a decent location. Ideal for a family get-away. I'd recommend this property.

Clean, comfortable house with great view of the ocean. High-quality appliances were a nice bonus. Nobody was booked the day of our departure so host offered late checkout unprompted, which was great.

Wonderful house steps from a great beach
Our family spend 3 nights at this great house near the beach. Great location to to do day trips to the channel island, Santa Barbara and gorgeous beaches along the coast. This house is footsteps to a gorgeous sand beach that stretches for a few miles. The house is bright and has everything needed for a nice stay! Would definitely come back!

Was great home for our work team as we were able to have our own space but also come together for meals and chatting.
Really liked the rooftop area for relaxing at the end of the day to watch gorgeous sunset!

Great Beach Property!
We are from the mid-West so anything near the water is special for us. However, The KID turned out to be the perfect spot for our family of 4 adults and 3 grandchildren. The property is exactly as pictured. The grandchildren especially enjoyed their private space on the lower level complete with bathroom, TV, and a kitchenette. All the beds were very comfortable with very nice linens. The kitchen was stocked quite well with basic cooking supplies including pans, dishes (lots!) and basic spices. My favorite area of the house was the dining area which looked out across the beach to the ocean. Other amenities included lots of games, beach toys and chairs, a record player, and premium channels on the TV. The location was ideal for exploring the beach (one of the nicest in CA), walking to the harbor for coffee and to see the seals, and enjoying other areas like Ojai. Sandy was very responsive to my requests. I give the KID a 5 star rating. It's one of the best!!

We Found Our New Beach House
I'm so thrilled I found this property! We've stayed in a few homes in the area before but for location, amenities, layout, and kid-friendliness, "the Kid" is the number one. We never even had to put on shoes to walk across the sandy street to the beach every day. Evenings were spent on the rooftop with the fire pit. Everything is incredibly organized, from the kids toys (tons!) to the kitchen amenities. The downstairs area was perfect for the kids to have their own little "zone" while the adults could gather upstairs. Anything we needed, the host replied almost immediately. It's definitely a value and we plan to book another stay asap! What a find.

The Kid is a perfect beach house for a family getaway. We spent 2 weeks enjoying the beach and the chill vibes of Oxnard. Our grandsons all took surf lessons. We really enjoyed this home. This property is exactly as advertised. The home is cozy, perfect view of the beach and the owners are very generous with sharing what they have. We were able to play at the beach, enjoy family game night’s and grill up some fresh seafood.

A terrific place to enjoy some tranquility away from hectic L.A. The Kid was as advertised in a great location, terrific property for our group size, and featured plenty to tap into locally - from the beach (30 paces away) to leisurely walks, restaurants or cafes, and other odds and ends. Great and quick communication with the Kid's owner/property manager - couldn't recommend any higher score. Would love to come back.
