About this cabin rental
Barking Pine Cabin is on a quiet street in Talmont Estates, just up the hill from Sunnyside and the Tahoe Park HOA beach area. The Talmont neighborhood offers easy access to Paige Meadows and miles of back-country which is popular for hiking/biking in summer and cross country skiing/snowshoeing in winter. The Tahoe Park Private Beach offers 3 acres of lakefront enjoyment with two piers, playground, and picnic areas. New modern siding and a large sunny deck overlooking a forested setting greet you at this home. High ceilings and many windows brighten the living area. The wood-burning fireplace sustained damages to the chimney during the winter of 2023, so unfortunately this is out of order until further notice. There are comfortable couches in the living room along with an entertainment center, 40" flatscreen TV and Blu-ray/DVD. There are also televisions in the two bedrooms. Each bedroom offers a queen bed and the loft offers a bunk bed to accommodate 3 more with a twin over a full-size bed. There are two full bathrooms, one located on each level of the home. This home is fully equipped with washer, dryer, dishwasher, disposal, microwave and wireless internet, stereo as well as books and games to keep the whole family occupied. Patio furniture and a newer gas BBQ are available during the summer months. This 2 bedroom, loft 2 bath home is centrally located to Tahoe City and near world class skiing at Palisades/Alpine Ski Resort, Homewood Mountain Resort, and Northstar at Tahoe. Four-wheel drive is recommended during winter months and winter parking is limited to 4 cars maximum. Well behaved dogs are allowed with prior approval. Dog must be approved prior to accepting a reservation. Please call us for details. This home does not allow any parties or events as this home is in a residential neighborhood, and quiet time is from 9pm-8am. Thanks for your cooperation! Cleaning fee includes linens and towels. Julie was easy and very accommodating. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. Great views of the lake on the drive up. Would definitely recommend!

As the title suggests, the cabin was great for our group of five and the location was great. Julie, the property manager was excellent.

We planned a trip to ski, unfortunately Mother Nature had different plans! The house worked perfectly! The snow was a bit overwhelming 10-12 feet while we were there!

Lovely little house - perfect for our family of 5 (parents, 2 young kids, 1 grandparent). Great location, and nice to have a pass to the homeowner's beach! My only criticism was, like at most Tahoe rentals, the bedding is a little dated and could use some upgrading. All of all, we would recommend this rental!

The overall property layout is agreeable. Location close to Sunnyside is great.
However, overall interior might need a significant refresh. The kitchen is out of age and was not crisp clean. Moreover the dishwasher did not work properly and half of the kitchenware in drawers were dirty upon arrival.
There is dust in all "hidden spots" and found food and beverage stains on several location on furnitures.
However, our main concern was that the only access to the house is a staircase that has no roofing. So of course has it was a heavy snow storm weekend I had to clear every day. But what is very concerning and dangerous is that there are no snow guards on the house roof at the top of the staircase. So while we were loading our car the last day, half of a 2 feet thick icy snow patch fell on the staircase and the sundeck as big icy blocks. Hopefully, we were in the house having a one last check at this very moment...!

We stayed at the Barking Pine Cabin and it was everything we hoped for. Paige Meadows is just up the street and we were able to hike in the woods right from the house! The property was clean, key pick up was easy and the Tahoe park beach was awesome. Played basket ball and bocce ball, wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll definitely be back!

Cozy and Convenient Ski Retreat
My friends and I had a great time staying at Julie’s well-stocked, ideally located (<10 min to Homewood; ~15 min to Palisades/Alpine) cabin. We loved the sunken carpeted room next to the fireplace for playing games and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the supplies we needed to cook big meals for the group. Sunlight hours are prime with the giant windows. We will likely be back!

Loved this cabin. Great location for winter or summer. It's not fancy, but clean and comfortable. Note - wi-fi is very unreliable so don't plan any important business meetings or to stream movies.

House was clean, although a little outdated-bathroom sinks are low, tub had some kind of glue stain, upstairs was very warm at night. Perhaps fans upstairs and a screen on front door would help. Also, was a bit of a trek to get our bags up the stairs while helping the little ones (as there is no garage going into house) , and two of us got splinters in our palms from the stair rail. I would imagine it would be difficult to climb stairs in the snow. The location was great, close to grocery store and restaurants.

It was a great cabin to stay in for the weekend. One thing to note is that one of the bedrooms is actually a loft, not completely private. Lovely spot with access to a great private beach.

Great for skiing nearby but....
Rustic, nice location and as advertised. We just wish the stovetop, microwave and dishwasher worked properly. If they were mine, I would replace them.

It was a nice cabin but had some issues that need to be fixed. The upstairs shower could not be turned on; the stove only had 3 working burners; the BBQ was cheap and propped up with a pan lid; two of the outside chairs were broken and could not be used; fire alarm went off 3 times and we had to pull out the battery; the living room lighting was too dim at night. The positive input includes: the inside is comfortable and attractive; beds were comfortable; there are no close neighbors.
