About this house rental
Nestled in Lake Michigan Beach, this lovely house for $983 per night is a great option for your next break. This home is one of 8 houses in a secluded Lake Michigan bluff neighborhood. A country home where no attention to detail has been spared. It's a perfect getaway from the city or a great meeting place for family and friends! There is a private association beach conveniently located a few houses down (less than 5 min walk). The main house can sleep up to 12 adults. There is also a 2 bedroom coach house located above the garage that can accommodate an additional 4 adults. This space can be added onto your reservation for an additional $300 per night if additional space is needed. If you do not wish to rent this space, please note that it may be rented out during your stay; however there is a separate entrance and parking from the main house and there are no shared walls. Guests in the coach house do not have access to the patio, yard, or any of the main house amenities. Please let the host know if you are interested in adding the coach house onto your reservation. The house offers all the amenities you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. For the coffee lovers, we have a quaint little coffee bar featuring both a Keurig and full pot coffee maker. There is also a large dining table that can comfortably seat your party. The living room offers plenty of seating and a large flat screen smart tv. Enjoy a relaxing meal on the back patio featuring a full sized Weber gas grill, or cozy up by the outdoor fire table in the evenings. Walk the singing sands of Lake Michigan beach, watch the ever-changing sunsets, take in 18 holes at the premier Harbor Shores golf course, enjoy sipping the finest local wines at one of the many southwest Michigan wineries, celebrate the spectacular colors of autumn or sip hot cocoa in front of the fireplace on a snowy day. Whatever the season, the experience is always inspiring and delightful. Take a short drive on scenic highway M-63, hugging the Lake Michigan shoreline, north to South Haven or south to St. Joseph and find good food, live music/theater, unique shops, museums, and art galleries. Each town has its own lighthouse and boat-filled harbors, featuring individual charm and unique attractions -- memories you will cherish forever!

This house was perfect for our family! It was well stocked with anything you could need, including coffee, spices, and laundry soap to name a few. The private beach access was only used for sunrises/sunsets. The public beaches were very nice and a short 10 minute drive away. Our family loved the spacious backyard & fire pit. We loved this house!

We really like how spacious the house was, and how close it is to Lake Michigan! The back porch and fire pit were so nice. When we got there the lawn was not mowed so it looked a bit un-kept, but then the next morning the lawn crew was there mowing and it looked much better! While the house was very nice and comfortable, I think that it could be updated a bit to justify the price, as I truthfully felt that it was a little steep--but overall we felt good about it because the quick beach access was awesome and the house was very comfortable :) Thank you!

We stayed at this house for our yearly Lake Michigan getaway. We had 7 adults and 6 kids and with the guest house, this was a PERFECT location for us. There was ample room, a huge backyard, and private beach access just a short walk away. We absolutely loved this house and after over 9 years of family vacations, we all agreed this was our best one yet! We will definitely be back!

This house is great! Super clean and additional little bedrooms for the kiddos. The location is very private and the walk to the beach is short (though there are a lot of stairs).
The coach house is also just as beautiful!

Our first year at Sweet Sara's was in 2004 and we've been coming back ever since (except for the Covid era). This is our sacred space for so many family memories. Kids that were in diapers the first year are now married or graduated from college, etc. Katie was a wonderful, accommodating host for our group. She was communicative and the process was simple enough. The house has always been lovely. The beaches have returned (after a few years with high water). Maple Ave was a familiar, shady, daily walk to the bluff. Just a great time, and bittersweet as we contemplate the future of our gatherings as dynamics change... Thank you so much, Katie!

Three families came together to spend a long weekend at this home. We had 7 adults and 5 children and it worked perfectly for us. The bedroom setup allows parents to have their kids in the next room over. Those rooms are a little small but worked fine as we spent most of our time in the spacious living and kitchen area, as well as, the patio and the beach. The stairs down to the beach added some effort but we found it doable as we would set up for the day and go to and from the beach as needed. It was great having the beach to ourselves - we played beach baseball and didn't have to worry about anyone besides the occasional passerby. We took one trip in to South Haven for half a day. It was about a 20 minute drive. The rest of our time was spent at the house. We had a great stay!

We love visiting SW Michigan and keep trying different spots to suit our 4 households family. The yard, the beach access, proximity to favorite haunts in St. Joe and the property itself won us over! Large dining area- outside dining, bedrooms for children inside the bedrooms for parents- second floor laundry. Highly recommended! Did I mention easy parking for all our cars?

We had a great stay here! The house was perfect for our family. It was very easy to get to and not far from towns and interstate access for easy traveling. We had a couple young kids with us and it was perfect for them too. I think the ONLY thing that could have been described better would be the stairs to the private beach. For a family that was a lot more than we anticipated getting up and down. We did it and still had a blast! The private beach was beautiful! But the stairs will wear you out. The host was amazing and so easy to communicate with as well! I was very impressed overall. Highly recommend!

Perfect house for our family during our son’s wedding weekend! Loved everything about it especially the outdoor living spaces and proximity to Lake Michigan! The hydrangeas surrounding the back patio were the talk of the weekend! Would love to stay here again!

Perfect size for our family. Mornings spent at the public beach, evenings at the private beach( sunsets). Probably the best stocked VRBO I’ve used.

katie did a great job with communicating everything with my group. check in was a breeze and the property itself was great. very close to a private beach but also had a very large yard for games/hanging if you just wanted to hang around. throughout the weekend my friends and i kept saying that we can’t wait to return next year!

This home has it all. I asked all 8 ladies what they loved most about this home, here it goes. 1) The ceiling fans in each room are wonderful! 2) Beds are so comfortable, it was easy to fall asleep! 3) the outdoor furniture was very welcoming and accommodated every person. 4) outdoor gas fireplace was wonderful and welcoming. 5) Gas grill was great. The gas was connected to the gas line on the house so we didn’t have to be concerned that we had gas or that it would run out on us! *grill is BRAND NEW!! 6) The house was extremely clean! 7) there are a lot of magazines and comfortable couches. It’s so welcoming and easy to sit down play board games or read a book. 8) we walked down nightly to check out the sunset on the beach! Beautiful, quiet and peaceful beach. 9) the wrap around porch was perfect for our morning coffee talks. 10) plenty of spices, zip lock bags, laundry soap and cleaning supplies. We like going home with clean laundry and needed baggies for our leftover dinners, It was so great!

Father / Sons Getaway
We had a great time hanging out at the house, sitting around the fire pit telling stories and sharing memories. It was great that all 5 of us had our own room and the kitchen, dining, and living rooms were all comfortable and spacious. The only disappointment, and it was minor, was the beach access was not as accommodating as we hoped. We did walk to the bluff on the first day and decided the stairs were too much for dad. We want to the park on Saturday, but that beach access wasn’t the greatest with limited space and more of a hike than we imagined. Overall, we had a great time. Thanks

This was a great base for our son's wedding in Benton Harbor. The house was nicely decorated and had movies/music/games/puzzles/books to enjoy. beautiful home and property. location was great and near the private beach. the only criticism is there needs to be another full bathroom upstairs- it was a bit inconvenient dow one couple to have to sleep upstairs and come all the way downstairs for the bathroom.

We had a great stay… everything was exactly as described. My only hangup is the lack of informing us that there is facility connected on-site where others are staying. They have a different entrance and we only saw them twice, but that should be stated in the listing.

Lovely gem near beaches
This lovely property was large and roomy with a nice back deck area and beautiful porch. The walking access to the beach from the house was not good for some of our group, but there were two lovely beaches with good parking just a few miles each way down the road. The house is in a quiet spot near trees and with beautiful flowering plants. Our group of high school friends enjoyed our stay here.
