About this house rental
Situated in Black Mountain, this charming house for $382 per night is a great choice for your next trip. High above Trip Advisor’s “Prettiest Small Town in America”, The Sunset House is our newly renovated 101 year old, two floor bungalow. Privately nestled into 1.5 acres, it’s surrounded by forest with sweeping year round sunset views and 240 degree winter views. Just 5 minutes from Black Mountain and only 20 minutes up I-40 to Asheville, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath (2 full, 1 half) open floor plan home preserves it’s original river rock foundation, fireplace and wood plank ceilings but features a just completed “to the studs” renovation. New everything! Interior features and amenities: Families will find laundry is easy with new, stacked Samsung washer and dryer. Be among the first to cook on the smooth top range in the bright kitchen equipped perfectly with ALL NEW pots and pans, dishes, silverware, glassware, and every cooking utensil you could ever need. No sad castoffs for this chef! The cozy keeping room adjacent to the kitchen has a spectacular, river rock fireplace that, while no longer functioning, simmered large soup pots in the early 1900’s. While chopping vegetables, visit across the granite kitchen island with your friends in our comfortable living room overlooking the Swannanoa Valley. Turn off the 55” 4K flat screen TV and gather round the dining table with your whole group to play cards or an assortment of board games. Exterior features and amenities: Outdoors, you can compete with your family and friends on our regulation cornhole court or build a roaring fire and take in the sunset view around our custom stone fire pit. Before dinner, gather together for cocktails on the large back deck with evening valley views glowing from fiery orange to deep red. Or, slip around to the front deck with a local, craft beer and a good book. Accommodations: Our 4 bedrooms ensure privacy for even a larger group. One couple will enjoy the primary bedroom on the main floor with its crisp, white, en suite bath. Two downstairs bedrooms feature spacious queens and the third has a twin daybed with trundle that can convert into a queen bed! The daybed bedroom has a wall mounted state of the art 55 inch Roku TV that will keep the kids occupied at the end of an active day. The downstairs bedrooms share a large, modern bath. For larger groups, there is a queen sleeper sofa with a comfortable gel mattress in the living room. The half bath on this floor makes this the perfect “fifth bedroom”. If you can tear yourself away, you are only minutes from award-winning Black Mountain and Asheville restaurants, breweries, boutique shopping, hiking, biking and every other outdoor activity you can imagine. The famed Blue Ridge Parkway is just a 15 minute drive away. It is rare to find nature and seclusion paired with easy access to town and outdoor activities. The Sunset House was perfect! It was just as described in the listing. It was spacious for our family of 6 and 2 dogs. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the fire pit and making s’mores. Wood was not provided as we were told but that was okay. The Ingles is located at the bottom of the mountain so buying wood and groceries was very convenient. The house is also within a few miles of downtown Black Mountain. We enjoyed shopping and dinner out a few nights. Be sure to visit My Father’s pizza for excellent pizza. We placed a to go order and enjoyed it at the house by the fire pit. Communication with the property management team was excellent. We absolutely recommend this home and hope to plan another visit.

Sunset house is a truly beautiful home in one of the more beautiful parts of our country. Mountain Views and five minutes from town, what’s not to love?

The house is in a convenient location and we had a lovely stay. Is has a well appointed kitchen with plenty of glasses, utensils etc. We enjoyed the fire pit, grill, beanbag toss and all the seating provided.
WIFI password provided by text and email was incorrect( correct in book at the house) no instruction for recycling was provided and the dumpster would not lock. Also, we were told by management company that no water hose or firewood was provided but in reality it was.
Hope these comments help.

Really enjoyed this place. Beautiful house and gorgeous views and setting. Only 5 minutes from Black mountain downtown but felt like we were more remote.

Our family loved the entire experience from playing games inside to corn hole outside. The only thing we did end up doing was buying some glade plugins for our stay because the house had an unpleasant smell to it. Not sure if it’s because it’s pet friendly or what.

Wanted a little family reunion with our kids, spouses, and grandkids and came across Sunset House. The location was so convenient to grocery, restaurants, and downtown Black Mountain. The upper fire pit was an awesome gathering place (the mornings and evenings were cool and the fires with the view were amazing). The house was clean and comfortable.
Would love to come back.

The house was beautiful and comfortable and the view is amazing. I found contacting the property owner was a bit confusing . Many of my replies were just robo texts. We tried to check in one day early or one hour early because of severely cold weather and the response was slow or just a standard auto text of no.

Great long weekend in a great hideout outside of Asheville. The property was perfect, with tons of outdoor living to enjoy. Perfect spot for Basecamp, close to downtown Black Mountain and close enough to Asheville to hop into town for dinner. Great stay
