The man at the desk was super friendly and accommodating, he was great! The room was nice and clean, they had a storm the day before so no cable but we weren't there to watch TV. Right across the street from Jeannette's Pier so a great sunrise view.

Don’t book. This inn has changed owner and does not consider customers or cleanliness at all important. Very disappointing because my husband and I stayed here at least twice a year for many years. On the trip, our last, we were given the wrong room that was less expensive and wasn’t offered a refund of the difference. The check in is done through a kiosk with an agent in another country and very confusing. There is no longer an employee at the front desk to help with whatever you may need. There is a young man that lives at the property that is an employee but was rude and never in the office. Our room was nasty with dirt on the floor, hairs in the tub and apparently a previous quest had urinated in the air conditioner so couldn’t use. Also, a dog ( i think) had urinated on the old futon in the room’s living space. We had to buy $20 worth of cleaning supplies just to make the room somewhat clean. We were never given fresh towels and ran out of toilet paper and had to buy some. I’ll be contacting a health inspector about how unclean the room was especially the urine. We’re so disappointed. The inn WAS a wonderful place to stay.

Room was great. But there was little mold around the room here and there and it was quiet for the most part, but still noisy neighbors, and you can hear through the walls. I was woke up twice two days in a row someone beating on a door afew doors down from our room.
Shopping, restaurants, and beach was in perfect walking distance everything we needed was close by and right down the road

The rooms were small and in disrepair. There were lights not working properly and the staff didn't even bother to refill the soaps dispensers in the shower. There is not even a desk attendant. You check in through a kiosk on zoom with someone. You can hear people in different rooms above you and beside you.

Hotel was good, a little dated but clean overall. Checkin was through automated kiosk in lobby, speaking with someone from Phillipines. That was disappointing.

Very nice location. Price affordable and small kitchen was excellent.

Very old and outdated, sheets discolored (very used) but clean. Overall okay place to stay but nothing extra with this basic room. Would not stay again.

Place was dated but sheets and towels were clean. Room smelled nice. Needs some basic repairs but nothing excessive. Only one roll of toilet paper and a few tissues in the box. No real person available to get extra supplies.

Great location, nice stay. The room was clean and came w a kitchenette which was great. For the price, you can’t beat it. Would definitely stay again

We were called and told to come & check in, staff had incorrect room, was told to come back. Trash stayed outside our door the whole time we were there, railing wobbly and unsafe, stove burner drip pans were aluminum foil ( fire hazard?), used coffee k-pod left on windowsill and I asked twice to get some coffee that I never got. Smoke alarm missing
on ceiling, remote missing it's back, had to hold batteries in. Just not like the pictures at all! Suffice to say we won't be back!

The staff was friendly enough. However, we did not receive housekeeping service at all during the entire week we were there. I had to ask for fresh towels, toilet paper, and coffee. The beds were comfortable but the floor was not that clean.

Very nice small motel. Was clean, and had all the amenities we needed for our beach visit. The staff was courteous and helpful. Great value for the price! Will atay there again in the future!

It is very convenient just across from the beach...

My family and I stayed here for the Labor Day weekend and it did not disappoint. The staff and owner are incredible. They are friendly and very helpful which made our long weekend even more enjoyable! We stayed in a queen bed cottage. Parking was a little tricky sometimes as the parking spaces in front are parallel parking which I suck at with a pickup truck but there is pickup truck friendly parking in the back which is only a short distance to the cottages (we were in the front so the back cottages would be closer) Only had an issue with the key cards (which was user error) but getting new ones was very simple process with the kiosk system they have which also doubles as a check in station. We're a younger family and had no troubles with the system but did witness an older couple struggling with it so that may be the reason why some reviewers said that it was not user friendly. Despite it being a very busy weekend, especially with the surf competition across the road, the unit we stayed in was indeed very quiet at night which is a huge plus. The cottage rooms came equipped with more than what the amenities said so it was a great bonus to have a toaster and Keurig in the room. This property was also conveniently located right across the street from Jeannettes Pier and the beach as well as walkable food options. Definitely would recommend this motel!

The new owner was super nice and was available on the premises at all times. Our cottage room was as expected, with a small kitchen area, and sofa with coffee table in a little alcove. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. We parked right outside our door and had a little porch with chairs to sit at, when we were not out and about. We will definitely be coming back for short stays, the price can not be beat!

For a few nights stay it’s fine. I wouldn’t stay a week here but for a weekend it’s a place to sleep and it’s right by Jeanette’s pier. Can’t beat the location

We were greeted upon arrival and shown to the kiosk to check-in. The kiosk is not user-friendly. The young lady on the kiosk was friendly, but there were times when I couldn't understand her and she couldn't me. We got checked in and were shown where to park. We were offered help with our luggage, but we declined. The room was very clean. The bed was nice and firm. The bathroom is very small. The shower took a long time for the water to heat up, but once it did it stayed hot. The shower is very small as well. Not much room to move around. The parking lot is quite small, and only one way in and out.

Rooms were very humid and damp.

The linen was disgusting - the sheets and towels which we think were meant to be white were in fact grey and extremely weathered.
The bed was badly made, we were not even sure that it had been changed after the previous occupant.
The rating from Hotels.com upon which we routinely rely was 7.6 which was nowhere near accurate.
A most unpleasant experience.

Loved having a private cottage it was so peaceful.

Stayed in a cottage with my dog. Was great. No issues. Like others stated the towels could be updated and they do not clean until check out but that was fine with me. I brought extra towels so didn’t need anything. For the price point it was a great little get away spot. Directly across the steeet from the beach

We've loved both of our stays so far. We've gone twice and will go a third!

I stayed in one of the cottages so that’s what I am reviewing. Great location close to everything, beach access and Jeannette’s Pier are just across the road. Two or three restaurants are close by too and a nice little market. Check in is a bit awkward with the kiosk, but once done the rest is easy. Cottages come with a full kitchen, which is great. You might want to bring a few things from home, such as cutting board and kitchen towels. I also brought a small coffee maker since they only provide a Keurig, but that’s just me. They don’t clean the rooms while you are there, but are upfront about it and, personally I prefer it that way. Overall I had a quiet relaxing stay and would definitely stay again.

The place is run down. There are no cleaning services while there (we were there 7 nights). The AC is marginal

Towels and linens need updating, they were clean but grey not white. Very old. front room seemed uneven when walking. Right on street and Jenette’s pier seemed to be a hot spot for loud cars of teenage boys with loud tires and mufflers all night. Owners were nice but did not seem them much. Bathroom is tiny.

There is no one working the front desk, it is a kiosk for check in. I never saw an actual employee during my stay.
The rooms are old looking and outdated. It was across the street from the pier so that was the only plus.

Sheets are so dingy they looked brown had stains all over them and bed was full of hair.. the towels were just as dingy..we never stayed left our key card in the room and went back home. This place needs new sheets, new towels, new pillows and new bedspreads that don’t have stains all over them or look so dingy.

Very disappointed with my stay here. When we unlocked our door for the first time, a maid walked out and told us she was eating her lunch in our room. Mind you our clean room that was ready. Cleanliness was disappointing with the hotel.

This was my second time staying at seahorse and it won’t be my last. This is not a luxury hotel but it’s a great stay for an unbeatable price. Plus it is very dog friendly. First stay was in the ocean view room on the second floor which was plenty big for a family of 4 and a dog. It has a kitchenette which was clean and functional. Unfortunately we planned late and these rooms were already booked. Our second trip we stayed in a basic room on the first floor. This time we had 2 dogs. The beds are comfortable. They provided enough towels for everyone staying. Everything in the room was in working order. The room can get a little humid after showers but there is a dehumidifier in room and as long as the ac is on it’s fine. I didn’t hear a lot of noise from other guest when in our room so the walls seem to be decent. They staff is incredibly friendly and the hotel is close to everything. Thank you seahorse for offering such great prices for families with pets. We will be back and I do recommend this hotel to others traveling to nagshead.

Floors had remnants of sand. A/C unit made the room feel damp. Lots of moisture! For a quick getaway it was feasible.

I was very impressed with the check in process and the manager at the desk was very friendly and courtesy, our room was very spacious and had a great view, definitely will be staying there again in the near future!

So many things did not work properly, toaster only had one of the 4 heating elements that barely worked; the Keurig coffee maker leaked and had built up grounds impossible to get a clear cup of hot water; the shower floor was slippery as glass and had no safety strips to prevent falling so we could not use it; there was only soap dispenser available and no bar soap; the soap in the dispensers was the same for dishes, bathroom sink and shower. The mirror had a filmon it so everything appears blurry. Other issues with broken furniture and very disappointed in our stay.

The man at the desk was super sweet. It was quiet and quaint, although humid. They have a dehumidifier in the room to get rid of the dampness. I would definitely stay here again.

The property is in a great spot, very convenient for being the heart of shops, dining and the beach front. It is very clean, the staff are nice and the check in/put process was easy. Really only dislike is the mold/mildew smell in the room (there is an air freshener in there to help but can still be smelled through that) and you can feel water damage through the floor, feels like you might fall through the floor in some spots. Overall decent for the price paid.
