The sheets on the beds seemed used.
The blankets for extra warmth could be more cosy. The room was noisy from the road traffic the AC was really loud very disturbing and the bathroom was extremely tight.
Other than that the room was nicely remodeled.

Like staying in a house instead of hotel. Quaint and personal. I loved it!

We stayed in the new building and it was very nice and the hotel is in a perfect location.

Absolutely an amazing place to stay! We thorouhly enjoyed it. Areas of improvement: the dryer and wifi service is horrible; needs a booster. Trash over flowing at the bottom of the stairs was NEVER emptied and/or cleaned up.

Nice place to stay. You can walk right into the town square in two minutes

Please have someone available at the front desk in the morning starting about 6am for early departures. A hot cup of coffee and a light pastry (other the than the lousy small coffee maker in the room) would have made the overnight stay perfect. Will return in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Smith House during the Christmas holidays..

Decorated so beautifully for Christmas. Will definitely go back.

Very nice great location in a unique downtown area of a great small southern college town. Only disappointment was the restaurant onsite wasn’t open the night we were there but there were several other walkable options nearby. Most likely would stay there again if ever in the area.

The hotel was within walking distance to the stores & restaurant in the downtown area.
The hotel was very clean & well maintained.
Would stay here again.

Very clean. Tv did not work. No phone to call front desk. Overall expected more for the price paid.
Town was beautifully decorated for Christmas.

The Smith House is a lovely old house but maintained very well. We were in the carriage house. The staff was super nice. Sadly we weren’t there at a time go enjoy the restaurant. Maybe next time!

It was a nice clean place. The staff was wonderful. I would never stay at The Smith House again because the beds was horrible. The mattress was so soft we would roll into each other. My daughter was in the other bed and she said she put pillows in the middle because she felt she was in a hole. we were up and down all night. We finally got up and headed home at 4:45 am so we could get some sleep. I travel alot and I have to say this was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. We stayed in Room 8

I really like how convenient it was to downtown shops and restaurants. We could walk everywhere easily. Room was clean and the site was quiet. Will go back . Just need a balcony.

The ceilings must be quite thin. For most of the night, I was disturbed by the guests above me.

The Smith House so far has been excellent. The restaurant was amazing…food and service. My only hiccup was confusion about parking, but that was resolved.

The staff is amazing and the property itself transports you to a classic time. Only thing I say is that if you allergic to mildew or mold, bring an air cleaner with you when you stay.

We stayed in The Lodge, which is their newest building and it was a most pleasant surprise! The rooms were super clean, the beds and pillows were nice and comfortable, the location was very convenient to walk to all downtown restaurants and shops, and their staff was very friendly. They will be our first choice to stay for all our future visits!

The stay was average, but could have been great. We chose a Premier King Room, as opposed to a Comfort King Room. Both indicated the rooms had a "City View." Although the price was the same, it was our assumption that "Premier" was descriptive of something above the rooms noted as "Comfort," especially since the rooms are listed in ascending order with "Premier" being after "Comfort." Additionally, having stayed at the Smith House previously, since it was noted that the room had a "city view" we expected it to be a room where the window(s) faced the city (which we knew had a balcony). However, neither of our assumptions proved to be accurate. Our "Premier" room was on the "ground" floor of the lodge building, i.e. basement, with our "city view" being that of a parking deck (opposite the city) and with no balcony.
However, the room was clean (for which we are appreciative), but it was nothing more than an ordinary hotel room with nothing to set it apart.
Wi-Fi was very slow. The smart TV had all of the apps one would need to watch their favorite movies via streaming apps. However, any streaming media was constantly stopping to buffer, or catch-up, due to the low bandwidth. It took 90 minutes to watch a 60 minute program due to the constant "lag."
Due to it's cleanliness, we would stay again but would call the property to clarify the location of the room - neither Hotels.com or the property's website provides adequate room descriptions or pictures.
