About this house rental
Located in Lake Placid, this charming house for $1,139 per night is a great option for your next break. Escape the hustle and bustle of life at our beautiful Lake June in Winter home, The Escape House. Nestled on the deep water cove with a huge focus on the outdoor space. We have an expansive dock and boat house with plenty of room to tie up your boat and watercraft. There is an outdoor pavilion with picnic tables and 3 different grilling areas, a sundeck for lounging, and a covered and screened in porch to relax. Lake June is a sandy bottom, fresh water lake know for boating, skiing, wakeboarding, surfing, fishing, and all types of water activities. We provide kayaks, paddleboards, life jackets and a place to dock your boat. Our home is well stocked with towels, beach towels, linens, kitchen supplies. There are 7 bedrooms, 3 of which have bunk beds for the kids, twin/full. The rest of the bedrooms all have new queen matresses. There are plenty of bathrooms too! We have 2 full kitchens and plenty of sitting areas to relax. The home is equipped with 5 smart TVs so you can stream your favorite shows and movies. High speed comcast wifi available for you as well. In the evenings, when you come off the lake, enjoy some pool, ping ping, and darts in the well equipped game room. For those of you with an EV, we have a Tesla Wall Charger and a Standard Wall Charger, so no worries finding a place to charge your vehicle! We really tried to think of it all and provide the perfect escape! Please note, There are prime weeks during the year where we have a 7 night minimum stay. The balance of the year we have a 3 night minimum stay. If there are dates you are interested in taking and would like to request an exception to the 7 night minimum, please message me. If I can do it, I will try to accommodate your needs.

We had an amazing time , the house was wonderful and location was perfect . It had a side yard fenced in for dogs, beautiful outdoor with 2 BBQ Grills , plenty of seating inside and out . Publix 5 minutes away. Would definitely go back!

We spent Christmas 2023 at the relaxing Lake June house. Everything but the weather was nearly perfect. Lots of space. Enjoyed the kayaks and dock. Caught a few fish but not many. Water was chilly (even for a NJ bunch)...you could still jump in off the rope swing or high platform for the younger ones..but water was in high 60's--so you jumped in and got out quickly.
We used the grills, played corn hole.
We would have really enjoyed having basic cable tv...we found the tv streaming to be slow and difficult to do (even with tech savvy college age kids.). Had trouble with sound on upstairs tv (even when watching a movie with DVD player). Oldest family member was handicapped, mobility limited...which was a challenge outdoors at the house. Very difficult for us to get him down to the dock. We knew that this would be the case prior to renting...but I would not recommend this house for a handicapped/mobility limited guest who wants to spend time outdoors.
We were hoping for better weather...but I think that's December in Florida. Would rent again...but only in the warmer months to be able to fully enjoy the outdoor areas/activities of the house. Close to grocery store and small downtown area which was an added bonus. Owner was communicative about check in and check out. We did not have any issues.

Everything was great…the house is very well thought out so that everyone has their spaces with access to bathrooms. It’s very close to town and has a beautiful view and lakefront yard. The owners have thought of every detail to make sure guests are comfortable during their stay & we’re very attentive to any needs or questions. It’s not glamorous but spacious & comfortable. We would highly recommend!

The property was accurately described and was the perfect location for my husband's 70th birthday. The host was available for questions, and the property was well stocked. The only negative was the noise from the second floor to the first floor. It was hared to sleep downstairs if anyone was walking on the hard floors downstairs. Besides that, it was a great long weekend.

The pictures do not do justice to this house and the lake views. Absolutely loved my stay here in a very clean home with great amenities! This place can easily host a few families or group of friends on a getaway trip. Would definitely stay here again!

We spent thanksgiving week at the house. It was a great location that allowed us to enjoy the time together but have our own spots per family. Host was great and the home was exactly what we expected.

Great house for 14 family members in town for our sons wedding that was held on the other side of Lake June. Kids swam in the lake as the adults relaxed on the dock! We brought our own boat and were able to tie off on the dock, boat ramp access minutes away.

This is a beautiful property. The house and outside spaces are amazing. Plenty of room for large gatherings. Our family range in ages from 7month old twins to 70+ year-old grandparents. Doug is an excellent host. He was welcoming and very accommodating to any of our questions or concerns. He has thought of every amenity to make "lake life" relaxing, fun and safe for all. Our time shared at the Escape House will hold so many wonderful memories. We have already recommended it to our friends. It's amazing! Sunsets and sunrises spectacular.

This house is massive with all of the amenities. My family of 5 stayed along with my parents, totaling 4 adults and 3 children. We could have easily had 2 more families join us. It was nice that my family could stay downstairs and it was very much like it’s own apartment, kitchen, bath, coffee maker etc. the kids loved the bunk beds and my parents were able to have their own space in the evenings upstairs. We had an awesome time, my kids learned how to kayak on the kayak provided. There are tons of toys and plenty to do. Thank you for letting us stay we had a wonderful time.

The property was fantastic and better than the pictures! The house held 7 groomsmen downstairs very comfortably. The upstairs was perfect for the adults and family to have their own space while allowing the groomsmen to have the downstairs to themselves. We enjoyed the lake and kayaks during our stay. The queen beds were very comfortable. Extra amenities were a nice touch. I would highly recommend the house for a large family vacation. Great communication with host!

This has to be one of the best vacation rental homes we have stayed at. Excellent communication with owner and the home is very well appointed. We especially loved the multiple refrigerators, ample seating options, kitchen with plenty of cookware, and life jackets available. Thank you for thinking of everything!

This was such an awesome property with beautiful lake views and plenty of "water toys" to enjoy the lake with. The little beach area was the favorite place for the children and our dog who loves the water!
The Host has made the home so comfortable, from the well stocked kitchens, comfy beds, and room darkening coverings for the windows. Everything was super clean! We would definitely return.
Heads up...don't let little ones get the remote even if the TV is off. You might end up ordering a movie you hadn't planned on....LOL

The property was as described and photographed, no surprises. This enabled us to plan accordingly and therefore spend minimal time with setting up, provisioning, getting comfortable, etc. Had everything we needed and spent a wonderful 5 days enjoying family fun, laughter and food! I would give Doug and Katie more than 5 stars if I could! They were amazing hosts letting us stay in their home and it was an experience that my group will never forget. It will be talked about for years on end and their attentiveness and details of the house are a hit reason why. It was clean, wonderfully located on the lake. The life jackets and towels were a life saver to have available especially for a big group. They thought of everything that we could have needed. I live in Spain and even with the time change, Doug was always fast to respond to any questions I had leading up to the trip. The rooms were very cute and had everything we needed. Thank you so much to this family. You are amazing! ❤️

We had a wonderful girlfriends weekend. The property was perfect . It had everything you could ask for. The only thing missing was mirrors in the bedrooms. With a house full of ladies it would have been nice for getting ready for the day or evening. A+ property anyway. Thanks for sharing your property.

We had such a relaxing time staying at the escape house between Christmas and new years. There was so much to do that we hardly ever even wanted to leave the house. The screen room was perfect for cooking breakfast and supper with our whole crew of 17. And we all spent a lot of time on the dock sunning, swimming and playing cards.

We were looking for a location to host an 80th Birthday Weekend for my father. Doug's house was the perfect spot! The back deck and dock area are actually more beautiful than the pictures! Doug was an amazing host and extremely responsive to any questions I had. There was plenty of room for big family dinners, but also lots of space for everyone to spread out.
We really appreciated the kayaks and paddleboards on site, along with other fun "toys" and activities. We also appreciated the many grills and other amenities. I would highly recommend this house for any family looking for a lovely getaway!

This property was FANTASTIC! Our cycling team was traveling for a race in Sebring and needed enough space to accommodate our 20 members. The home is beautiful and very well kept and offers a ton of space and amenities, which made it perfect for our large group.
Also, Doug is AMAZING! Can't wait to stay here again!

My husband and I invited our friends and family to this house for our wedding weekend, it was perfect for everyone’s needs and there wasn’t a time where we needed something and it wasn’t there! Everyone had the best time, we can’t wait to visit again. One of the most beautiful houses I’ve ever been to. The lake was gorgeous and the house was cozy, fit all 28 of us with no problem! Doug is the kindest human being ever, if you’re thinking about coming to this house..DO IT!

This home lives up to and exceeds all expectations!! We stayed here for a long weekend with family and friends of all ages celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday and had the most amazing time! The house is perfect for entertaining and large groups, we packed it full using every bed and we all were able to have privacy when we wanted to while also convening in the many entertaining areas inside and out. There’s so much space here to enjoy! The two kitchens was a huge plus, along with the 3 grilling areas! The downstairs area has it’s own suite and entrance that also connects through to the home easily, which was a nice bonus for us as the hosts. And then 4 of the upstairs rooms are set up as suites, which was perfect for families! We used every single area and amenity to the fullest, on the lake and outside all day and then hanging out by the firepit and the game room at night. Doug was the best with communicating and answering questions I had before and during our stay. He was such a pleasure to work with and the nicest guy! Honestly we wanted to buy this home from him to have as our own we enjoyed it that much. Everything was immaculately clean, comfortable, fully stocked, and so much fun with all that was available to us. And the property and lake is just breathtakingly gorgeous! Thank you Doug for everything, we all had the time of our lives and will definitely be back!

We stayed for the weekend for a family celebration, fit comfortably, and took advantage of all the amenities—no need to leave the property once you're there. You feel like you're at home but with every family member! Doug was highly communicative and answered my questions immediately. Thank you, Doug! Your home is a gem!

This house has it all! We didn’t have to leave the house at all the entire weekend!! It was so much fun!
We have 4 boys (ages 14, 10, 8, 5) and they had a blast the whole weekend. We were out by the lake from morning till evening and then played in the game room after dinner.
The beds were very comfortable and we all slept great.
The house was very clean as well.
Doug was awesome and was easy to work with. Thank you for sharing your home with us!! We will be back!!

This property is amazingly accommodating! Besides the house features (bedrooms, bathrooms, patios and an awesome game room, the owner also provide amazing amenities! You really don’t need to bring anything for play time! We rented a pontoon from a local small business delivered by waterway directly to the dock to pull the tubes provided by the property owners, and to enjoy some late afternoon cruising by the old folks. The kayaks and paddle boards and dock are plenty of fun alone.

The owner provided their direct number and were responsive to any contact throughout our entire stay! The only contact we had was friendly natured! There are so many provisions provided at the house you can either use what you bring or just leave your stuff to replenish what you use of what others have left stocked up! Amazing cool attitudes paid forward!

This home was perfect for our wonderful family getaway. So much space with the 2 floors for 3 generations. Spent a lot of time on the beach and water with the perfect outdoor area. Being able to keep our boat under cover was a huge plus. Large kitchen table, the play room, and lower apartment was utilized by our group. We will be coming back next year.

Our experience through it all was awesome. And Doug even made it better, he was a very polite kind and accommodating man. We had a slight problem with a toilet we called him in with an hour someone was there and fixed it. We had our kids come in from as far away from California New York Orlando Florida and Bradenton Florida. We will keep these memories forever thank you. Kurt bultema

3 families of 4 stayed at Doug's property this past Memorial Day weekend and it was excellent. The house itself is comfortable and roomy with lots of space but the of the property is the outdoor space.

This home was perfect. We had 17 guest enough beds for everyone plus more. If you have jetskis and/or boat plenty of parking for trailers and a beach area to leave the skis. Bbq grills everywhere, rope swing, basketball net in the water, shade on the deck, on screen bbq area, etc. This host went above and beyond to make sure guest are happy you can really tell.
