Great stay! Although…….the Only things very disappointing and frustrating was the guy giving our parking tag who misled us by saying we would be charged $40 if we didn’t attend a mandatory presentation about the resort (even asked for license and credit card). This caused frustration with the second gentleman who tried to sell us a Capital Vacations package (the person who tried to sell the package even commented to my husband in a very rude manner were we just here to waste his time).

Resort itself is fine. You will be approached to join the time share community within minutes of arriving. Location dictates that you have a vehicle as supermarkets and other shops are not within walking distance.

Ever since they were bought by Capital One Vacations the service at Silver Lake has been in decline. Rooms are not ready by 4:00, front desk managers explanation is "it's raining" !?? No phone in room to call front desk to request missing garbage can for kitchen, bedding for sofa bed, and tissue for bathroom. We have been coming here for 15+ years, and can really see the decline.

Horrible stay. On the second day my wife noticed one of the couch cushions had a brown streak which was definitely feces, whether human or animal. We went to the reception to notify them of the issue and they offered a Visa gift card which had some of the numbers erased, which we only noticed when came time to use it. We had to go back to advise them of that, and we were provided with another one, which also did not work. They blamed it on the fact that Universal Studios did not take prepaid gift cards, but it did not even work in their own convenience store. All in all, we had to go to the reception at least once a day to try and fix the issue. I have stayed in several dozens of hotels throughout the world in the last decade and this is by far the worst. I stayed in hostels that cost a fraction of the price that were better than this.

Check in was easy, but this is a time share community so expect that offer for the pitch. We had Disney plans for our entire stay and did not bite. The villa was clean and comfortable, but there is no ice machine in the hall to refill our cooler because the kitchens have full refrigerator/ freezers. This resort only provides room service on checkout which suits us fine, but if one needs daily coffee bring your own. My wife is impressed that the unit has universal design elements that would be beneficial for wheelchair users, as she works with para-athletes. Our building was by the resort back gate and there was insufficient parking to accommodate all the guests staying in the two buildings across from one another. We had our own cart to transport our luggage and cooler, but others may find this complicated having to make multiple trips between building and car without luggage carts, both to unload and then to reload on check out. We also found it most unpleasant to have Housekeeping at our door precisely at 10 a.m. on check out, effectively timing us as we prepared to take our things out to load our car which took ten minutes; note the parking situation above. Yes, he did show me the time on his phone as I exited the unit, 10:08...Overall, it was a comfortable unit and close to the entrance to Disney's Animal Kingdom, but I'll think twice before rebooking here.

First off the room we got was not what was pictured in the Expedia listing. I should have researched closer but it was listed as a kitchenette but it’s a standard small room with a microwave and mini fridge like any other hotel room. Housekeeping doesn’t come, you can call for extra towels but they will charge you for toilet paper if you need anymore than the roll (that was half used when we got there) that’s already there (also we stayed 6 days so no extra toilet paper or clean towels was a little excessive for that long of a stay) They’ll harass you when you get there to check in and during your stay to do a time share presentation also. The location is fine decent, the rooms could use some updating for the price. There’s a security guard when first come in but I was only asked 3 times out of about 30 while coming in what building I was in or anything else so that was kind of useless. I wouldn’t stay here again just for the fact of the room wasn’t what I thought I was getting and the deal with no housekeeping etc.
