Have always found this a clean inexpensive option for visiting GH family in the past. This time was a disappointment. Linens were all stained, room had a mildewy/musty smell. Left me with no confidence it was clean. Ice machine did not work. I would pay a little more for better conditions. A coffee maker/K-cup machine in the room wouldn’t hurt either (I would even be happy to provide my own coffee). The lobby coffee is undrinkable.

The room had clean sheets and towels but the room needed cleaning

Room and location was ok but the bathroom especially the tub and shower curtain were dirty and gross. Called the desk to have it cleaned while we went out but when we came back it had not been cleaned.

This is a good basic hotel. We needed a place for one night. We didn’t need a pool, etc. No breakfast, but coffee in the small lobby. Ice machine was broken, but got ice by asking at the front desk. Room had a small fridge and microwave. I would definitely stay here again.

Moved our room to the first floor

The towels and sheets were stained. Also, has to be switch into a new room because the original room smelled so bad. At least the staff nice.

As far as hotels go it was ok. There was no service except for a coffee machine in the front office. which we did not use. we asked about the area - for tax or uber or where we could shop. staff did not know. Being as we were there a short time I can only say the hotel was ok.

Stained bedsheets, musty smell, room was in poor condition. You get what you pay for…

The mattress was awful. The bathtub faucet has a constant leak. The electric outlet plate was cracked and partially missing. Toiletries were very cheap for the $173 per night cost to stay there. Linens were clean, no odors and the furniture isn’t bad. Vanity counter top is nice and newer. Tv was great too. Definitely needs to repairs to the building and upgrades to walkway, a lot if it is very outdated. Lamp shade had a hole in it. Not worth the price of the room.

Room felt damp and musty. Smelled like an old wet ashtray. I get that it is an old building. But everything was dusty and carpets felt clammy. Bed sheets looked clean but didn't feel like it. Bed was pretty comfy though. I would not stay there again.

We arrived at the hotel, the parking lot is dirty and lot of cigarettes buds, bottles water, soda, etc.
The rooms are outdated needs paint, the bathroom is old. we were a party of 5 reserve 2 room 32,33.
Room 32 bedding was black dirty, had cigarette burns and smelly, the TV did not work. when we checked out Rash told me that the maintenance person went to fix the TV in the evening and waited 3 hours.
We went out to eat and walk downtown. I told Rash so we come on vacation to wait for maintenance to fix the TV, etc.
Rash from the front desk was nice and polite did everything he could to make our stay better. But this hotel is good for a 1-night stay. No more!!.
Staff was great and polite, but the owner needs to update this hotel in and out. have the rooms update totally. the old smell is horrible.
I requested a discount for the inconvenience, when I checked out, I ask about the discount and Rash told me the manager would contact me in 2 hours, I told him we were leaving, and he assure me the manager would call me.

It was ok

My room was very dirty and the motel, as a whole, is not well maintained. Either they dont have the money and/or staff to maintain the facility, do not know how to properly manage and operate a motel or don't care. Maybe all of the above?

The outlets were not easily accessible to charge electronics and the one that was, was loose. Nothing would stay plugged in.

The room we had was not clean. The bathroom tub looked like it has not been cleaned in years. The bathroom also has mold and water damage.

Nothing was that great to mention. I should have asked for a discount or refund!

Too bad I can’t post a photo, which would clearly show how filthy the carpet was. Our neighbors spent the entire time smoking outside their room, both cigarettes and pot. If you allow smoking outside the room, then supply containers for cigarette butts, the pile on the ground was a joke, and was never cleaned by Rodeway. Our room constantly smelled like pot. They charge $25 a night for a dog, but do not furnish containers for people to throw away the poop bags, as I never failed to pick up after my dog. We had a handicapped room, and the bathroom was large, but no rubber mats on the floor, consequently I took a bad fall on the slippery tile. I was lucky I didn’t break a bone, but injured my knee, back and wrist.
I did bring the socks to the office, along with the towels we placed on the carpet to mitigate walking on the filthy carpet and asked for an adjustment in my bill, to which they refunded $30. There is no trash basket in the bathroom, and the only trash basket filled quickly. When I inquired about the full basket, I was told I could take it to the dumpster at the back of the parking lot, I’m 75 years old so I did not walk to the “dumpster”. This Rodeway fully takes advantage of being one of the few places that is pet friendly, since COVID, the Board of Health may want to check out the filth of these carpeted rooms.

Worst place to stay, DO NOT RECOMMEND. One of the beds was literally falling apart and our door was hard to open and close for some reason. I also left a bag of clothes at the hotel. Had to call the hotel 2 times because no one picks up the phone. When the guy finally answers he said he has to ask housekeeping still haven’t heard anything and probably won’t. DO NOT STAY HERE

This place is not worth $180 per night. The room was clearly falling apart. The staff of this place need to update pictures for booking services as they are deceiving. Additionally, there were numerous bugs around the room. I felt so let down with the amenities that I spent my night sleeping in the giant chair in mg room (43) as the bed was damp, and sheets looked like they have no t been cleaned in awhile.

The young man at the desk was friendly and polite. He was new to the area so he didn't know much about the town, but did have a free guide book that was helpful. The bathroom toilet paper dispenser was in pieces on the floor. The refrigerator freezer was jammed with ice and badly needed defrosting. There was only a single bowl sink and towels were minimal and well-worn. There was a microwave, but no coffee maker. The king sized bed, however, was excellent. Temperature management was good. In my view, the room at $216.00 including taxes was overpriced by about $100, except for the fact it was over the 4th of July weekend and Grand Haven is a popular tourist destination.

Tried to contact the property multiple times the day of check-in no one would answer the phone. Received a phone call from the hotel mid evening could not understand the gentleman calling arrived at the hotel, and they could not get the credit card to except in the machine and so I had to walk out at 11 o’clock at night with my kids with no place to stay. So no this was not a good stay. Bank shows that there was adequate available credit but the gentleman could not figure out how to work and process the charge on

Check-in was okay. There is coffee and hot water in the morning (no breakfast, none promised). Room smelled of stale smoke, tv was small, and the bathtub was dirty. The room itself was clean (except for the bathtub). Beds were comfortable. Way overpriced, but understand it is a resort town in June. Wouldn't recommend or stay here again (unless I had to).

Very easy in and out; very friendly front staff; property was dated and could have been cleaner

Well it needs a good cleaning. Bathroom corners, shower tiles. Doors and moldings are filthy. The bottom door strip needs replacing. The door molding needs replacing. Lock not very supportive either! Felt uncomfortable. The beds were clean thank god. The furniture needed cleaning too and behind it. I believe the rooms get rented out monthly at times for income too, so have them fix it up. Room 52.

Gentleman at reception desk was very kind, understandable, and accommodating! Thank you!

Not horrible for the price. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Dirty wash cloth was hanging on the shower curtain rod. Carpet was dirty (made my white socks dark on the soles dirty). Road noise all night. Fortunately it was cool/warm enough that we didn't have to run the AC/heater (it was very noisy).

The room did not come with kleenex, a tv guide, decent pillows [they were lumpy and broken down.]. The chain lock couldn't be locked as the chain was too short. The key card didn't work the next morning. I had to leave the door open while I moved our stuff to my van. Overall, I was very disappointed.

The hotel property has gone down hill since last time we went there. The rooms aren't deep cleaned enough and look disgusting.
