First, the driveway is steep, awkward and shared with a huge neighboring house. The huge house had 9 cars parked in front which left only a tiny bit of space for our car. Second, we were greeted by trash inside the front door that I guess the cleaning staff left, if they had been there at all. Dirty dishes were in the cabinets and random trash was throughout the house. Even an old used comb in the medicine cabinet. Incomplete repairs were throughout the house, such as a toilet paper holder that apparently was pulled off the wall and the holes left were spackled but not sanded or painted. Third, and most egregious was the sounds of animals running in the ceiling and walls near during the night in the king bedroom overlooking the lake. In addition the house is generally run down and old. There’s nasty bedding, cob webs and dust throughout. Needless to say, I called to complain the morning after our first night of horror. This is a Vacasa house reposted in Vrbo so I spoke with the local Vacasa person. I said we were leaving and I want a tefund, which they agreed too. Turns out, that was a lie. Despite my ongoing complaints to Vacasa central, I have not received a refund for the unstated nights in this uninhabitable house. I’ve tried to reach the local Vacasa representative who has now chosen to stop responding to me. Horrified! By this house and Vacasa. Shame on you.

My friends from grade school and myself are in our 60’s and this quaint house provided us a great stay for a week … this house does need some tender loving care… there was a broken screen door in upstairs bedroom and window that we could not close due to broken strings? The trash receptacle was broken and trash was on ground when we arrived … we put trash in neighbors bins …the lock box was not working properly either . The maintenance man came after our third day and repaired screen door and closed window .. we still had an amazing visit but feel the house needs to be cleaned better lots of cobwebs in windows and outside in sitting areas . Lots of steps if this is issue for someone .

This home is a simple, nice place for families. We loved swimming and jumping off the dock with our young kids, but wouldn't have wanted a little toddler walking out there with the uneven deck (some places have no rails/sides). Check-in and out were super easy and the location was quiet and secluded. We even saw some bears!

We were looking for a quiet place for the week where we could relax and swim. Our primary requirement was to be able to swim right at the property. This was perfect !! The house is not fancy, but neither are we!! I had read in previous reviews that there are lots of steps. But we are used to that because we live at Lake Wylie and know that the best lake lots are usually on steep lots requiring basement foundations. The dock was awesome for swimming and at night we sat outside to look at the Super Moon!! The location is in a quiet cove by the dam so very few boats or traffic. We swam and visited all day. The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy each others company for a few days. Thank you for letting us visit!! We will come back another day, for sure!!

The house was very spacious and equipped with everything we needed. We knew the property was vintage from the pictures and the description, so we weren’t surprised at the house at all. It had a great kitchen and we could all spread out and have our own area. Some of the furniture was worn but that was ok- the house was very clean on the inside and reminded me of a family home. The outside could use some work and trimming so you could see a better view of the lake. We enjoyed the grill and the outside area- even though the furniture was a little worn. The deck and the area around the lake need some maintenance but my family enjoyed jumping off the boat house and kayaking in the lake. Overall- we had a fun and relaxing time.

The house and outside back area was big enough to handle family and friends. If you don’t like steps this is not the house for you. The house is located on an inlet area so you don’t get a lot of boats, you have no trouble paddle boarding or just floating in the water.
