This home away from home offers quiet garden and ocean views. Located within walking distance of casual dining, shopping, and activities, Kapa’a Sands is a ‘hidden gem’ on Kauai. Many guest return year after year to enjoy the vintage Hawaiian charm. A variety of activities can be enjoyed all within a five minutes’ drive. Many travelers return yearly to this property; they have become ‘ohana! Built on the site of a former Shinto Shrine, Kapa’a Sands consists of 24 unique studios and retreats. Each getaway offers a unique style while each has a full kitchen including a dishwasher. The kitchen, living room, dining area, and a half-bath are on the main floor, and a lanai off the living room affords garden and ocean views. A second lanai is located off one of the bedrooms. The ideal place for some quiet time; watch the sunrise or just take a nap! When it's time to settle down for the night, lounge blissfully on the new Casper mattress in the main bedroom. A short walk across the lawn will bring you to the start of a white sand beach and a view of the coastline. Relax on the lawn or at the water’s edge and enjoy the Nai’a (dolphin) and Honu (turtles) go about their daily activities. You may even see a whale or two during the winter months! Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Really enjoyed the condo, swam in the ocean every morning, loved listening to the waves as we went to sleep (even though there was the crow of Roosters too) Needed to buy sponges to clean but that is my only complaint😀

Been coming to Kapaa Sands for 20 years. Being right on the water has its advantages and disadvantages but we keep coming back for more!

The unit itself is very comfortable. So happy to have a half bath on ground floor. The location is great, walkable shopping center nearby, being right by the water is wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and tropical, although it’s busy beyond the walls, it feels like it’s own little world. Pool isn’t heated, but that’s okay, it’s refreshing when very warm.

The almost private beach location was wonderful and beautiful. Only a 1 minute walk to the beach. However, the refrigerator wasn't working when we arrived (took them about a day to fix) and our food spoiled. The place wasn't very clean, had ant problems in the house (the shared laundry room was even dirtier and had what looked like a whole colony behind the washers), and the plates in the cupboards weren't cleaned from the prior tenants. None of this was terrible, just annoying. The actual beach house unit was well laid out and very comfortable. The only other drawback was that someone would come visit the hose outside our house several times per night (likely a homeless person high on drugs) talking to themselves very loudly, waking us up, a little unnerving to have them immediately outside the unit with my kids there. Probably nothing Vacasa can do about that short of gating the property, but it made it so I wouldn't stay there again.

We loved the place, perfect for 3 adults. 50m to beach where you can snorkle and see turtles. Lovely grounds and pool. And Kapa'a is a great base to see Kauai. Go north to Princeville and all the beaches. Go south to Southern shore and then across to Waimea and the incredible views and hikes of the west coast.

We had wanted to rent a quiet place on the east shore and this was a great property for us! We loved the central location: could get anywhere on the island, could walk up to the Coconut Marketplace for groceries and/or food, and right across the street for coffee and pastries. We loved being nearly ocean front! It was great to hear and see the ocean. If you stay at this property we recommend spending time at Passion Bakery right outside the door - fresh bread, warm malasaldas, and yummy lunch mix plates!! Also within a walk is Jo Jo’s Shave Ice, and Lava Lava Beach Club. The property had 2 comfortable queen beds, a pull out sofa and nice lanai, along with beach amenities such as chairs and a boogie board. Overall, we loved the price and value for the experience we had!

Great location, management was easy to communicate with. The unit we stayed in was a little run down, because the carpets were beige the dirty was obvious.

The location, gardens, pool, access to a beautiful beach and close proximity to shopping and restaurants made this place shine. The condo itself needs upgrading. The upgrades that have been done are not done well. I've contacted the rental company directly about the specifics but just keep that in mind when renting. The beds were not very comfortable. The place was clean, the kitchen had all the needed amenities. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
