Crown on Darby is one of the best locations to stay when visiting Newcastle. Amazing staff.

Reception staff were the best I've ever come across, room was outstanding, spacious, super clean and right in the heart of Darby Street. Very close to restaurants, pubs and bars. No need to use the car. We were really impressed that Crown on Darby offered secure car parking for a small fee.

Suites our requirements regarding location and good quality accommodation.

Great location and very nice room and facilities. However we had to call for a repair to the shower which was quickly fixed. The air conditioning was noisy but seemed to settle after running for a while. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Convenient stay - block out curtains would be good

Service and check in was excellent. Keys and clear instructions were given to us as we checked in after hours. Very comfy bed, spotlessly clean, secure parking underneath and excellent location-step out to restaurants and cafes.

While we appreciate the car park, don't like paying an extra $25 per day. It's OK for short stays but we think twice if we stay longer. There is a strange sunroom type arrangement adjoining the room with plantation shutters but the light came into our room all night from the courtyard through the bathroom window which shone into the bedroom. Not good. A tea/coffee maker was advertised but actually you just get a kettle with instant coffee (ugh) and green teabags (which I don't like). These days, most decent places have a nespresso machine and pods or similar. This would bring the accommodation up to date.

Excellent place to stay in an awesome location. Highly recommended!

Staff are excellent - friendly and super helpful. The location is awesome - right in the middle of several great shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars. Parking is secure and undercover, which we were particularly looking for. We've stayed here for our last 2 visits to Newcastle and highly recommend it.

Bit of a leaky shower which would have got annoying for a longer stay, but nothing too bad. Room was a lot smaller than I expected, but that was my mistake as I didn't realise when booking how much bigger the room we'd had previously was in comparison.

Wonderful, clean hotel with comfortable rooms and great staff who provide exceptional service.

Wonderful and helpful staff. They were extremely accomodating for our last minute change in situation and needs. Very clean, spacious and comfortable room. Central location was great.

Very soft beds - would be comfortable if you like a soft bed. Unfortunately due to the central location, the noise of an evening was a bit of a disturbance. Rooms were well sound proofed but the bar music was still quite audible.

I highly recommend staying at the crown on Darby. It was worth the money.

The unit was clean, essential amenities especially internet, and all the body wash, shampoo and conditioner provide in the shower. Love that we were on a main strip for foods, bars and bottle shops. Even though we were on a busy road it was very quiet. Love the little enclosed verandah and with shutters. Very pleasant stay.

Ticks all the boxes for a stay in Newcastle

Great location near bars and restaurants and not too far from the beach. The one bedroom sound proof room was really quiet, spacious and private. Great staff and lovely bed, linen and towels, great stay will be back.

Nothing of note, we liked it all.

Convenient location for our need. Comfortable. Very quiet. Hot shower.

The room was clean but could have been better. There were Bobby pins on the carpet and several long black hairs between the dooner and the top cover.

Staff were helpful.

The booking did not state the rooms have a flight of stairs. Was very hard to manage travelling alone with a baby. I would not have booked had I of known about the stairs

secure underground parking with easy access to room via elevator. lovely well designed room. kitchenette along entrance hall as you enter so b bedroom felt separate. gorgeous modern style and lovely sunny private balcony. so quiet as we had balcony to internal courtyard. appreciated this as possibly busy street with great restaurants at your doorstep. Lovely but uncomfortable when the neighbor yelled.

location - Darby Street is definitely a destination

The adjoining door into the next unit (we were in 18a) We could hear the occupants of unit 18; and in particular the lady who chose yelling as her preferred method of communication; and subsequently shared the fact that her son had used the shower gel as shampoo (like it mattered).

The lighting in the room was ordinary held didn't work at all, no decent mirror, and receptionist was not friendly at all.
