an excellent place to stay which is comfy and within walking distance from everything with brilliant owners

- compact and in an excel location - owners were brilliant, fast replies and excellent communication - the Wi-Fi was excellent and same with the shower and toilets

- Was very dark during the day hard to light up , mainly downstairs - floors were creaky ( minor inconvenience)

From start to finish our stay at House Verde was perfect. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Katerina and her family were brilliant from start to finish. From the seamless airport transfers they organized to the yummy treats they left for us, they couldn't have been better hosts. The property is older as mentioned in other reviews but we loved the old world charm and the terrace area with it's beautiful flowers and the amazing view was a highlight. We absolutely loved having our morning cups of tea and evening drinks out there and even enjoyed several meals at home rather than venturing out again. The location was also ideal. There was a supermarket only 5 min walk away and Old Town was only a 15 - 20 minute walk. Also the tour companies we used had a pick up spot on the main road only 3 mins walk from the front door which was perfect especially for the early morning pick ups as we were usually the last group collected and then the first group dropped back which was great. As mentioned by other reviewers there are a lot of stairs to navigate so the property may not suit all guests i.e. anyone with mobility issues or very young children but you can't avoid stairs in Dubrovnik and for us the stay was perfect.

It was very clean & spacious. wonderful welcome & thoughtful host leaving delicious pancakes for us to enjoy.

The 300+ steps from old town back to the house was difficult especially in the heat.

Exceptional

The view from the bedroom window is now burnt into my mind! The beauty of the wine grapes in the front, roofs of the city and then the Old City and the sea. The taste of grapes, the view of the sea, the pleasant taste of the house. Yes, the taste! It all was a perfect balance – smell, view, placement, atmosphere. The history of the house can be seen and felt in every room and and outside. But in this house all of that together it made it HOME for our stay and not just the house to stay in. Being with kids we enjoyed eating all the meals outside and having the garden paths for the kids to wander through. The rooms were so nice and comfortable, it’s hard to think of wanting more. Yes, during this stay we cooked very little, but it was the season of fruits and we had some dinners out in the city as well. However all the meals and late night snacks we had, we had outside. Even right after a heavy rainfall. Pure magic! Many thanks for the warm welcome and stories about the city. Of course, the kids remember the tasty cookies quite often. :) I quietly hope that maybe someday we’d be able to visit this magical place once more!

It was lovely and spacious with great terrace for drinks and lounging … beautiful views..

The stairs up to it … but good exercise .. and you can‘t avoid them in Dubrovnik…

Great stay with great family!

Everything was great. Hosts hospitality was excellent, starting with communication after booking and finally nice welcome from dad and tasty surprises from mom! Katerina and her family are absolutely best host ever! You have enjoy really great home atmosphere of Croatian home and family! Very recommended for stay!

It was little bit hot to sleep but it's summer time and it can use to be warm!

Great Apartment and host family!

The Family is very nice and kind. They even made us little presents like sweet bakery in the morning! The Apartment is very big and has a beautiful view! Also not far from the old town.

Very comfortable house, beautiful views and kind hosts. The house can accommodate 6 people very easily. We were 4 and had plenty of space :) Please take under advisement that the house is old and full of old-fashioned charm. If you like modern design and high end appliances, this house is not for you. But if your dream vacation is sitting under a canopy of old vines, drinking tea (or wine 😊) watching beautiful sunsets - seek no more. Highly recommended.
