Great place to relax right on the beach and with Kapalua bay next door for epic snorkelling it’s a fantastic spot.

Best location and perfect for families

This location can’t be beat! Right on the shore of one of the best beaches in Hawaii and within walking distance of a few great restaurants, snorkel shops, and a shopping center.

Definitely a family hotel. My husband and I felt a bit out of place as the only couple, but ultimately were not bothered by this. Be prepared for lots of kids in the pool, playing in the grass area, and splashing around at the beach.

Reasonable option for a few nights on an expensive island.

Great location, cool room.

Partial sea view room is very much partial if you stand in tip toes on balcony to see over tree right in front. Other rooms had better views (maybe booked direct and not via booking.com). Breakfast refreshments = coffee and pineapple juice only.

Great location, disappointing room

The location is absolutely stunning and having on-site parking was convenient. Also appreciated the laundry room and being able to do a load of laundry. Also enjoyed having pool access. Having a kitchen was also nice, but it was so dirty that we did not want to use it.

The reception has very limited hours, making it difficult to organize a check-in or get assistance during the stay. The room was not at all clean - still crumbs on the floor and furniture. We had the displeasure of staying on the ground floor and could hear every movement above us. Cleaning services were also not available during our stay, only towels were changed out daily if requested.

Superb

Lovely location, our booking got lost but was resolved with a room upgrade, thank you. Sunsets fabulous and the evening security guard gets 10 out of 10.

Reading reviews we expected a light breakfast but were told no longer available just coffee or a juice. Gave car registration as requested but later found a note on my car threatening to tow it away. Resolved this after a chat with the Manager, could have done without it, took the edge off the day. I was offered a discount on the room but declined as I didn't want my point of view to seem like I was trying for that.

Loved the location and the grounds, be ready for charming old school accomodations.

Wonderful location and the night guards were very nice. Free use of beach chairs and seemed to be plenty of them. Nice view from our unit, 3 units in from the end beach front unit. Nice to have AC and a full sized fridge. Bed was very comfy! Loved having coffee on the lani watching the early risers and the waves!

Room had a smell to it, kinda like musty wood. Not over powering but we bought some fragrant flowers to mask it. They were very tight with towels, one bath+1 beach towel per person per day. They claim to be understaffed like all of Maui so house keeping was minimal. I think they should pay a fair wage and attract more staff - at the rate they charge they certainly can afford it!

1 night beach paradise

We loved how close we were to the beach. The room itself was very clean and nicely decorated, The room felt like it had been renovated but still had the old charm.

I would have liked a small breakfast included, simple muffins set out with the coffee and juice would be sufficient. Perhaps a guide in the room that includes best places to snorkel, and things that are walking distance.

Horrible experience, and I would not recommend it to anyone

The only thing I like about this property is the security guy. He is very nice and helpful.

The property is very old and requires a lot of maintenance. The doors and the windows are not soundproof. You can listen to the conversation going on in the next room. No TV is available in the room. Extremely disappointed with this property.

Great location on a really nice beach but hotel needs some work and rooms were very musty.

Classic Hawaiian gem

Still a lovely little gem (first stayed here 40 years ago). Great location, lush grounds, very comfortable rooms, and nice staff. No need to spend money on fancier places; this simple, sweet hotel dies the trick.

beautiful place, horrible guests

beautiful location, old Hawaii charm and hospitality.

it wasn’t the property but this dad yelling at his children all night long. if security wasn’t irritated from us checking in at 6p then it would have been fine. no jacuzzi. not the properties fault but just awful terrible people would’ve called the cops anywhere else.

Eat breakfast at the Cottage House...a 5 minute walk.....gorgeous beach area

The bed was amazing. The sleeper sofa not so comfortable. Don't let that stop you...just get 2 beds!!

Very pleased

Hotel is fabulous! Rooms are spacious and clean, the hotel is well maintained with green areas and easy access to the beach. BBQ area is nice (we didn't use it so cant comment on functionality). Parking at the property and relatively easy to find. The beach is probably one of the best in Maui.

Breakfast is just poor we didn't even bother to have it there. Nice small kitchen but no oven/hob to cook. No TV in the room Only one restaurant at walking distance (it belongs to the hotel next door, note that the restaurant is expensive!!!) No bar/restaurant at hotel Location on one side is nice as it reserved and at a nice beach but you will need a car to even go to the nearest shop/restaurant

Loved the location. Liked the kitchenette. Security staff was very nice

No services after 5. No towel exchange after 5 Only 2 towels a day. They said daily room service but they did not. When I came back to take a shower after 5 they had not come exchange towels and could not exchange towels.

Great value hotel with a nice beach.

The hotel has a nice beach and the rooms have everything you need. It is near Napili shops, which is very convenient.

We would've liked a restaurant inside the hotel. It should have a snorkel rental closer to the beach.

Wonderful

Everything was great! Loved the fruit and coffee in the morning! Staff was very kind and accommodating. Grounds were beautiful and very well kept! I will be back…. We loved it there!

Great location but otherwise disappointing

The location was amazing, right on a beautiful beach. One restaurant nearby, not great and pricey but good for a dinner close by. Also a lunch place close by on the opposite side called gazebo which had good pancakes but long queue for a table. Near enough to kaanapali, about 15 min by car. Coffee machine in the room was a plus

For the price we paid I would have expected a nicer room. It wasn't cleaned properly, with some crumbs left behind on the kitchenette counter and a rag left in the bathroom corner. The cups we used to drink coffee in the morning were never cleaned by housekeeping. The complimentary breakfast (or snacks) was very basic and varied depending on what time in the morning you went. Walls are very thin, we could always hear our neighbors.
