It was terrific value compared to other hotels. The room was tidy, neat and comfortable. It was perfect for the two days of events we were there fore.
It's above a comedy club, fairly run down hallways. I would however happily stay there again.

This is a very vintage style hotel that made me feel very exciting. The location is good, right in the downtown. The price is afforable. Love to stay in this hotel again.
Notthing.

After a month I am still sending emails, phone calls to ensure reimbursement of the initial deposit however manager eliza weber never responded via telephone or email, front desk re-directed calls to 202 805 1237 that is out of service..so unprofessional and fraudulent behavior.

This is my second time staying here so I knew what to expect. I got a better room this time which was roomier. It's a great location near a great Irish bar (Duffy's), great burger place (Z Burger), and a great coffee shop where I could do my work (SoHo). Those locations are down the street on the corner.
The building for the hotel is old. It creaks a lot. I think it's leaning. Don't take the elevator....just use the stairs. The elevator is scary. The place is probably haunted. But it's cheapish at a great location. The Dupont Circle Metro Station is only about four blocks away.
The stupid ridiculous outrageous bizarre check-in time at 4:00 p.m. This is stupid. I can't tell you how much I hate this. I had an event the night of my stay and wanted to get some rest first, but had to hang about the city and then the lobby for an hour before they could check me in. It's stupid. Four PM? C'mon, Baron Hotel. Step up your game.

The staff were very friendly. We had to call each day for washcloths, shampoo and soap.We were never given cups for drinking, it was a constant asking.
I think that I said it all, wait no mirrors or hair dryer.

Location was good. Room was small but clean and recently remodeled.
The walls in the hallways were covered with portraits of famous people - a nice touch! (But I'd prefer it if they didn't double up any so you could actually see how many you knew out of the total!)
All in all this hotel definitely has an "old school" feel to it which I don't mind but I can see how some people might. The elevator was fascinating - very old school mechanically operated with a sliding gate! Hope they don't get rid of it!
The corridors could be freshened up. The smoke detector in the room had a plastic bag taped over it(!) and there was a slight smokey smell in the hallways, nothing that bad though.
Sharing the entrance hall with loud patrons of the bar / club downstairs when coming back in the evening was slightly annoying.
One receptionist was friendly, another was not (which doesn't bother me since I don't like small talk, but my wife thought they could improve).

Good location, clean room, ok price. Staff allowed me to use their refrigerator. This ok place stay for one night.
The hotel is old and needs renovation. The room looked clean, but we had a mouse in our room. Hotel should think about this, because I think there might be more mouses in other rooms as well. We heard noise coming from the street in the morning and in the evening due to our room windows orientation.

The hotel was conveniently located to
the embassy location, hotels, and the airport.
5.0
the location
it’s in a desperate need of renovation that will
take care of all of its problems from uneven
floors to noisy inefficient window AC units to
an elevator which which seems to want to
smash you while you are trying to get in/out
of it. I fell when trying to get to my room
because of the uneven floor. One of their staff members was wonderful
the other one we saw was grumpy and really
didn’t want to be there
