We ended up driving because we could not get my card to work. Even though this was very inconvenient I was relieved because the area of Salem this Motel 6 was in was seriously sketchy. I did not go in the rooms so I cannot review them.
The staff was very nice. You register at night through a night window.

The staff was wonderful even tho there was some maintenance being done. And welcomed pets
During the maintenance couldn’t just relax in the room I had paid for.

The parking lot was poorly lit, the room including the bathroom had visible mildew and smelled like mildew, and there was a large spider and two flies in the room.

one of the rooms we booked smelled so bad we couldn’t stay in it. 1/3 of our party had to relocate to an alternate property which caused complications and problems. condition of room wasn’t great. loose sink faucet, no bathroom fan. lighting in room was awful. beds were good, the door locked, the toilet flushed.

I wasn't assaulted, injured, or robbed during the brief time I was there. No family members were assaulted, injured or robbed while they were there.
Never stay here. Motel 6's are usually a workable value for a place to sleep.... but no, this one has crossed the line into a hell-hole that should be closed. In the 25 minutes we were there before we left to find another hotel:
1. Management demanded to see ID for every person in our family staying in a given room. That was the first warning sign things weren't as they should be
2. A person was in the office interrupting our check-in trying to negotiate getting a few extra hours to get their stuff out of their room even though they hadn't paid for the previous night. They had had a family member arrested in the room earlier that day for some activity that was taking place in the room. They were also told that the police were on their way back to enact another arrest due to a separate additional incident.
3. One of the two rooms we were given smelled like a cross between a drug lab and a dead animal disposal site
We didn't even bother to try and get another room or get our money back. We left as soon as we could and once at a safe distance, worked to find another property in town (hotels were full due to graduation that weekend at the local college) It cost us an additional $500 ]per room, besides the original costs of the above rooms, but we slept in a lovely, clean room that didn't smell like an orc-latrine, and didn't have police banging on the door of the room next to us.

There wasn’t much I liked about the stay. The one thing I did like was the location.
The bathroom was gross and dirty. There was only one towel in the room. The tv didn’t have the proper settings to connect to the Wi-Fi. The room was either too hot or too cold no matter what temp we set the room to. There was also nothing to wash with in the bathroom for example shampoo and conditioner, or hand soap.

Truthfully the ONLY thing I liked was 1 specific motel employee! I wish I had asked her name, but she is the one that checked us in the first night there and she was super friendly but professional at the same time, made sure to tell me everything I needed to know and made sure to ask if I had any requests or questions.
Well there's a LONG list of things that I didn't like unfortunately...
First of all there was no hot water at all in the entire building, which I was made aware of when I arrived and was asked if I still wanted to stay (which I did), everyone was supposed to get a 20% discount for the inconvenience of not having hot water to which this discount was to be applied on each day you were there, for some reason I only got the discount for the first couple nights I was there, everytime I renewed my room after that I didn't receive the discount. Upon finding this out the one and only nice employee there told me not to worry and to come in the next morning to pay for the room again and to let whoever was working the front desk that I would like to be refunded the amount the 20% discount took off each day that I didn't receive it, which at this point was like 5 days. Not only was the lady that was working that day kind of stuck up and rude, but she made me feel like I didn't deserve the discount, so she asked me to come back later when there was a bunch of other people in the office trying to check out or check in, so I politely agreed and went back to my room. When I came back to talk to her, pay for my room again and hopefully get my money back for all the nights I didn't receive the 20% discount this is what the rude employee proceeds to tell me...
Oh, well you already got refunded the money back and turned her computer to show me where it magically said 'discount added' all of a sudden, I was like 'hmm, weird, why wouldn't you wait for me to come here first cause most of those days that needed to be refunded I paid for with cash, not my card, which means you took it upon yourself to make my decision for me.
