Aerie beautiful house, heart of Oia's traditional settlement, Caldera view
About this house rental
Located in Oia, this lovely house for $735 per night is a great choice for your next break. The whole settlement stands there, since the mid 19th century. Although it is a cave house, it is considerably spacious. The high ceilings and the old wooden floor, make it differ from the common cave houses. In addition to that, the minimalistic, Cycladic fireplace, at the upper room, creates a cosy and warm atmosphere, making Aerie House, the best option for your winter vacation in Santorini. The main house is consisted of a living room with to couches, made by organic bed matresses, a fully equipped kitchen, a bed room with a king-size bed, a bathroom and a dressing room. The beautiful cement steps into the bedroom, lead to a small but atmospheric and secluded cave loft, where visitors can relax. The second space of the house, which one can approach through the yard's steps and small teraces, has it's own entrance, offering a discrete privacy into the whole settlement. It is consisted of the main room with a king-size bed, a beautiful bathroom and a fireplace. Through it's windows, visitors can enjoy the majestic view of the Caldera, even while resting in bed. After more than 20 years of spending the family vacation there, this house is full of joyful memories, spending time with family and friends. Last year, the whole house was carefully restored and renovated by an architect of the island, respecting the local, minimal architecture, giving emphasis to the simplicity of the building's forms and aesthetics. Aerie house, as it is now, is a combination of minimalistic architectural forms and functionality, with a hint of discrete maximalism through several objects, furnitures and art paintings from my family collection. All the above, create a uniquely beautiful symphony, which makes Aerie Villa special. Aerie house's philosophy is to offer quality of vacation. Great importance is given in your sleep and resting hours. With our organic matresses and top-matresses, and through the availability of two different kinds of pillows to adapt your body's needs, bed time will provide you with the necessary energy and joy to explore the island during day time. Also, it is important that your are provided all the amenities possible, in order to feel at home. Amenities include: bathrobes, slippers, shampoos, conditioner, shower gel, body cream, hand soap, hand cream, toothbrush, vanity kit, as well as all sorts of kitchen and home electronic devices : free wifi, A/C, cable TV , 2 cd players, 2 DVD players, microwave, a gas kitchen, a big fridge and a smaller one in the separate room, 1 espresso machine, 1 espresso/cappuccino machine, unlimited espresso capsules, filter coffee machine, a kettle, orange squeezer, toaster, hair-dryer in both spaces, cell-phone to reach us any time you need it, washing machine as well as a dryer machine, iron, and a safe, to protect your personal belongings. Αlso: every day cleaning service and baggage carry from/to the parking loat of Kinotita in Oia. At the house, you'll find bottles of mineral water, local wine, coffee, tea, sugar, fruits and homemade cookies when arriving in the house (included in the price). As mentioned before, when entering the house, you'll be provided with a cell-phone, in order to be able to reach us any time you need it, while you'll be given off course all the necessary information about the house and the island. Our goal is to make the island meet your personal needs, not the opposite, so we're willing to help you organize all the activities that you would desire to try. The only thing you have to do is to ask us and then relax and enjoy! Unfortunately, my studies force me to spend most of my time in Athens, so, in case I won't be able to meet you in person, I am always available to talk to you the to the phone. Aerie House is situated in the traditional settlement of Oia. It is only 1 minute far from the main commercial pedestrian road of Oia. Our guests, can easily access, by foot, all sorts of restaurants and shops, as well as wonder around the pittoresque paths through the houses of the settlement that are hanging from the cliffs of the Caldera. It is also approximately 4 minutes far from the famous Venetian Castle in the Northern part of the village, where people from all over the world, come to see the sunset. The location of the house, combines the experience of living inside the traditional settlement onto the cliff of the Caldera without having to climb lots of steps. Through Aerie house's view, our guests can experience all the changes in the scenery throughout the day, the different colors of the sky and it's reflections on the cliffs, as well as the Volcano and the island of Thirasia, whilst being part of the only colorful traditional settlement in the Cyclades islands, surrounded by the breathtaking view of the Caldera. Aerie house is really easy to access, since it is positioned 2 minutes away from the Kinotita Arcade which is one of the main entrances to the village. The bus station is reached through a 5-7 minutes walk through the village. We can book you a cab any time you need it, or we could arrange you a car rental. If you want to, we organize your transfer from the airport/port to our place as well as your transfer at the day of your departure. I grew up with pets, so they are more than welcome in Aerie House. However, during night time, I would kindly ask you to respect the neighbors need to rest (after 12:00 a.m)! Don't forget to use water wisely! Santorini, run's out of water as the years pass!

This was the most wonderful stay for our family of six. We have four teenagers, so the upstairs/downstairs set up was perfect. The location is amazing with the incredible views, right in the heart of Oia. The property managers met us, helped us with our bags, transports, and was always available to answer questions. The house is right next to a busy restaurant because it's right off of the main pedestrian walkway but you come to Oia to see and be seen so that didn't bother us at all, the nature of the town is very tight quarters which is part of the experience. The property manager rightly directed us to a cruise which was the best part of our stay in Santorini, highly recommend. This is a fantastic house, clean, well-appointed, and the best views of iconic Santorini. The only hiccup was that I had a hart time getting in touch with the owner before our arrival because I did not know to contact her through WhatsApp. Once I did use WhatsApp, she was very responsive and was able to help us with the details. We loved every minute of our stay here.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location in Oía and a more well appointed home with everything we could ever desire! Down to the last detail with antique art pieces and all the amenities, this is a place you don’t want to miss!!

Perfect location, gorgeous views, very cool property!

So the experience was okay. Location was exactly as promised. Amenities were not as promised. When we booked it stated that they had laundry. Coming from the states this was a huge factor for us. We packed based on the fact we would be able to do our own laundry. When we arrived and asked where the laundry was it was at that time they stated they had removed the laundry due to previous renters damaging the unit. So we had to insist they do our laundry. For us this was a huge inconvenience because we had to wait for them to bring it and then we had to wait for it to dry. I will say for the most part it was an amazing view and our property manager did try to comply with our requests. I would say double check before booking and make sure you get property manager name prior to showing up like at least a month before.

Our stay at Aerie House was wonderful! The pictures accurately display the beauty and charm of this adorable property. It is located in the heart of the scenic Caldera homes with abundant shopping/restaurants and spectacular views!
The home was perfectly cleaned, comfortable beds and great "up to date" plumbing features. The only odd thing was that the kitchen while being well stocked is only stocked for 3 people. 3 large plates/bowls/ etc...
The property manager took excellent care of us! He met us at the appointed spot and took our luggage to the home so we didn't have to deal with it at all. If we needed anything at all he was very attentive. He had great advice regarding excursions (that he sets up for you) and also arranged our transfer out on the last day.
The only hiccup was in communication with the owner prior to departure. We later found out that my emails were not transferring from the VRBO site to her so she never saw them.
I highly recommend staying here. The upper bedroom is only assessable through narrow winding stairs so make sure your group is all able to navigate them.

Our stay was incredible! We had someone waiting for us to check us in at arrival and we truly loved everything about our stay at the property. I stayed in the bedroom upstairs and the view was perfection, which made the stairs up to it worth it. Yes, the restaurant is next door, but it didn't bother us at all. The location was perfect and the description of the property is accurate. Highly recommend this rental.

This cute and perfectly placed rental in Oia was fantastic. The upper bedroom had a perfect view over the Caldera. Marios met us and carried our baggage to our rooms. He maintained contact with us and was ready and available with any help we needed or questions we had for him. Totally recommend this as a great place to stay when visiting Santorini. It won’t disappoint.

Nice property
The house was lovely and likely would work well for most families. However, the second bedroom was only accessible by a small exterior staircase so my older parents didn’t feel comfortable staying there. Instead, they stayed in the main house with the kids on the twin beds. It worked out fine, but this wasn’t clear in the listing. The house and rooms were lovely and for those that otherwise don’t want a lot of stairs to get to your house (which is common), this was a great location.

Loved our host Marios and the cave home was magical. Anywhere you stay in Oia will have some lack of privacy, so enjoy the views and the comfort of this beautiful home!!

We stayed in this lovely refurbished home for a week. The views are incredible as are nearly every cave house in Oia. Mario was very sweet, helpful and prompt in reply to answer any questions.
A couple things to consider before booking: The location is in a busy area with zero privacy. Constant foot traffic of either sunset watchers or selfie takers and maybe thats ok. However, access to the upstairs bedroom is via an outdoor staircase. There’s a non stop balcony restaurant 5 feet away where diners are eye level looking right at you and what you’re doing. (We actually had a conversation with a couple from Scotland while they were having breakfast)
So no coffee in your pj’s enjoying the sunrise nor wine on the balcony in the evening. The outdoor space is frankly useless unless you enjoy being starred at by 30+ strangers.
The next issue was the upstairs bathroom shower has about 2 minutes of water. You will be left in a lather for 10 plus minutes while the tank refills. After 2 days we realized all showers had to be done downstairs. Which takes you back to the outdoor staircase with balcony audience. The wifi doesn't work upstairs either. So more up and down the outdoor staircase. Which was a total drag in the morning.
Next negative was a hidden 25% fee from the host. Many emails inquiring why the balance was off. Finally she sent a snap photo of a nearly $600 “tax fee” that is not listed in the balance/payment details.
When I asked why the total was off the host finally responded with a pic of the hidden fee without further explanation then ghosted me for 6 weeks. She did respond to check in though.. I’d still give communication an F-.
Other than the over charge, poor communication, lack of upstairs shower or wifi and complete lack of privacy, the house was clean, charming, came with considerate touches like organic slippers for each guest, and daily cleaning with fresh towels.

This place was absolutely gorgeous and we would definitely stay here again. The host arranged transfer to/from the airport, this made it very easy. It's nice that they come every day to tidy up and give fresh towels. Things to note: the daily breakfast referred to in some of the reviews was discontinued last year (the host did bring us some wine!), and there is no longer a dryer on site (there is a washer). Had some trouble on the first night with wifi, it was resolved by the morning. Despite those few things, I give this place 5 stars because it is simply beautiful: great view of the sea, beautifully decorated, and the hosts were so kind and helpful. And Oia is not to be missed.

We only used the downstairs of this property but the upstairs room was also beautiful and had a great view from the patio. Just a few steps from the main walking/shopping/restaurants in Oia. Everything was very comfortable and well stocked. Isavella’s help and communication was wonderful.

The house is nicely decorated and comfortable. However, the floor of washer and dryer were littered with trash The location of the property is right across from the loading site for the donkeys therefore the ground in front of the house was covered with donkey dung.

Everything you could want in a place. Great location in the middle of town, super responsive and helpful hosts, great breakfast, reasonably priced, clean, super comfy beds (Beware however if you’re above 5’6”, as all the doorways are lower than that). Seriously though. Stop looking and just book here. Super highly recommended.

Couldn't have been better!
This property is perfect! The perfect location, the perfect view, the perfect size for my family of 5, the perfect manager and host!
We are from the States and had never been to Greece, much less Santorini. Needless to say... what's not to like? Santorini is gorgeous! Oia is the perfect vacation spot... tons of shopping, restaurants, views... did I mention the views? But this house made the perfect place even more perfect! The house is the perfect size for a family of 5-6. My husband and I had privacy and space from our 3 young adult daughters- the bedroom/ bathroom/ patio upstairs has its own separate entrance but is still part of the property... in fact a "window" covered by a picture opens to the loft space of the main house. So if it is opened you can talk with whoever is downstairs when needed. The main house has a main bedroom with a king size bed that 2 of my girls slept in and then 2 "couches" actually twin beds... are in the living room area.. my other daughter slept there.
I will say, we didn't spend much time in the house and when we did we hung out in the courtyard/ patio area. There is a couple chairs there along with a table and then a comfy couch area. You can also sit on the wall ( where I liked to sit) and enjoy the people in the courtyard with you and enjoy the view and the people walking by. This spot on the Caldera is just amazing. Nice and close to the top so the views are great AND you don't have tons of stairs. The house is right next to a restaurant and the people eating are "right there" when walking out of the top floor... but who cares?
The house provides daily cleaning service ( not a major cleaning but beds and trash) and ... drum roll please... They bring you breakfast every day! Not only did this save us a considerable amount of money... but it saved time and trouble. They brought it in a basket with hard boiled eggs ( still hot) croissants, bread, greek yogurt, a meat/cheese/ cucumber platter.. olives or tomatoes. Honey and marmalade. It was so nice to eat in at least once a day during a vacation where we ate out so much. The house also provides a coffee maker and a cappuccino maker.
There were so many good things about this trip I could go on and on... but I think you get the idea. This is amazing... you should def. stay at Aerie house.

Fantastic service and beautiful home
Pro:
1. Fantastic service
2. Daily breakfast was excellent.
3. Daily cleaning service
4. It’s in the heart of everything yet quite when you are inside the house.
5. Beautiful home and fantastic view
6. We always perceived that Fira was the heart of Santorini. After going there, we realize that Oia is the crown jewel of Santorini. If you are debating weather to live in Fira or Oia, I would strongly recommend Oia.
Cons
1. The internet in the upstairs room is weak
2. The beaches are approximately 30 min away by public transit. The public transit system is great and worth taking this vs cabs.

Great Location
This property was in a perfect location to explore Oia and Santorini. It was a perfect spot for two couples traveling together and the breakfast we received each morning was an amazing bonus! I wish communication was a little better prior to the trip, but once we were there the property host was very helpful in helping book transportation for us.
Best,
Mari

This property was spectacular. They provide food for a light breakfast which was awesome and coffee. A full kitchen. The place is set up so you could have two couples enjoy a bedroom own bathroom and privacy. Tyne view just outside the room was amazing.
