The place needs maint, staff was very nice, this could be a great place in the future but if you like sleep and need WiF

The other guests who stayed there were very nice and I also enjoyed the ping pong table. The air conditioning works well. Not to far of a walk to town.

The property needs some serious maintenance, the photos online are obviously very old. The pool is dirty and needs to be cleaned. I had a private room with a bathroom which needs a deep cleaning. Hot water works sometimes. Internet pretty much doesn’t work, cuts out after 30 seconds. The price I payed was way too high for the low quality of the facilities. If you can negotiate a low price this place might work for you. The curtains didn’t cover the windows all the way so light comes in all night, good thing I brought eye covers. Super loud music until very late and music and car noise at 6am. Even with ear plugs and I was staying out late made it difficult to sleep here. I hope my stay is not the normal for everyone else but I’m giving my experience of my 2 nights staying here.

Disappointing

Position is good, outside of the mess of the centre but still close to the beach

The room was dirty ( please wash those bed curtains!!!), the common areas and bathrooms were very dirty but nobody seemed to care. At the time I was there there were few guests and absolutely zero atmosphere.

good place to stay for a solo traveller looking for a party

The location was good as it was out of the way of the business of the centre. There were good seating areas around the hostel making it nice to chill out.

The pool was really unclean so the pool was no usable. The WiFi only worked in the reception area. Music would play externally loudly until midnight. unfortunately for us a ground of people sat outside drinking / laughing until 5am so we found it really hard to sleep even with ear plugs.

I’m planning a trip back as soon as I can! Loved it

The staff will go out of their way to help you! Really fun place to stay in Sayulita for a great price. The private rooms are stylish, clean and comfortable. The location is on the side of town, but makes for a fun walk every day. Love the community feel. Thanks to Mario!

The roosters in the town start at 6:30am! Pack earplugs just in case!

Okay if you like party

Location was close to everything but not next to the main trouble, so it's a little bit laid back. Late check-in was possible. Several clean toilets and showers available. Beds were comfortable with a own power outlet.

LOUD music the whole day and sometimes until the night. Sleeping was hard sometimes. Feels like a party hostel. There is a kitchen, but it is for the staff only or when you order something. WiFi download wasn't really good, upload on the hand was good. 😅 Our dormitory had only 3 'lockers' for 4 person. There is also no curtain for the room, so if you night it dark to sleep, bring your sleeping mask. 😬 A power outlet in the backyard would be nice.

Loud and poor quality

The location was good. Out of the way, and in a local area

If you are a 22 year old who wants to party all the time, this is for you. I could hear people using the toilets in other rooms from my room The wifi in my room never worked. No towels provided The one sheet was paper thin on the bed Staff were not friendly or helpful I got a private room and it was expensive considering the quality of everything and the lack of consideration the staff had towards guests. I could hear music blasting from the ground level while on the the 3rd floor with my noise cancelling head phones on.

Superb

I had great conversations with Mario, he was very kind and made great breakfast! They have surfboards, ping pong and yoga mats you can borrow:)

The kitchen seems to be no longer available for guests as they couldn't keep it clean... But breakfast is good and there are so many (cheap) options to eat out in town.

Useless staff, noisy place, AC broken and uncomfortable beds

AC was not working. We asked the staff about it, they tried to change us room but AC was not working there either. Three different people of the staff talked to us and they couldn't tell us if we could get a refund because the owner was not replying to the phone. A last person checked again the AC and told us the owner was ok with the refund. At the end they refused to give us a refund. The place is very noisy at night and the bed are very uncomfortable. It is also dirty.

Comfy beds, there is a DJ that lives there, he was very nice putting some music. We had a great time that night, we stayed at the private room and it had a good bathroom.

The hostel does not includes breakfast or more than a comfy bed. I think the hostel could be much better with a better Cleanliness and maybe more activities to offer

Disappointing stay

Location

Our private room was super dirty. There was trash in the drawers, the sheets were dirty and we found some clothes underneath the bed. As we asked for clean sheets, the man in the reception seemed annoyed for the rest of our stay. For the 3 nights we stayed, there was not any room service with clean towels, sheets or anything. It was not what we expected since for the price of the private room we would of been able to get something much better. Also the top floor with the private rooms seems a little like an unfinished construction site.

I got to rest well at Hostel Tortuga, it has a relaxed atmosphere.

The huge windows made the room cool for sleeping. Tortuga is tucked in a quiet spot, still so close to town and the beach. It's perfect.

The sheets were clean but the bunks were not dusted. It made me question how clean the rest of the place was.

The best part is about staying here is leaving

The hot shower is great

The staff aren't helpful , it took 2 hours for me to track down someone knows the wifi password. They have no idea about the covid test situation,. Even though there are sign says no loud music after 11pm. But the music never stopped before 2am during my stay The room faces the court yard, so you can hear every conversation. As long you don't need help from the staff, and can handle the pumping music until 2 am, then this isn't a bad place to stay. The facility is pretty good.

Great spot, great people, close to everything.

Sergio and Mario are great! They are super friendly and can tell you all about the area. Really enjoyed my stay there. Would stay again, also the location is great, close to the beach and everything.
