Excellent location, Gorgeous views and lots of beautiful birds around property. Breakfast & Dinner were great and a great value. The cottage was dated but it a great bargain and a gorgeous location- Had nice little deck & side semi private sitting area for shaded reading & relaxing. The rooms on the main bldg are much nicer, newer and surely more expensive but again our cottage was great & totally met all needs. Our hosts were really gracious also
As above the cottages were older and in need of sone updates but are great in all other regards. Would reccomend for anyone looking to save money on accommodations

Very simple and rustic. Good restaurant. Wonderful view of the hill and and lake, loads of birds and animals.
No hot water in the showers.

Beautiful, quiet place, beautiful views, beautiful jungle waterfall and swimming pool. Eat your breakfast with the birdies. Fish dinner was delicious.
Wi-fi in my room wasn't good, but it was fine around the corner. Shower wasn't that hot, but it was adequate.

Quel lieu incroyable !

The building with rooms, restaurant and terrace is beautiful. The entire property is meticulously kept and just gorgeous with fantastic lake and mountain views. You can do bird watching from your breakfast table and monkeys are all around. The fresh mixed fruit plate at breakfast is almost too much.
The owner is very friendly, personable and full of advice on everything there us to do around.

We loved the views of the hotel. One of the best views.
It was not clean enough.

Wifi funktionierte gut.
Nichts.

Loved it!...... because it was quiet, comfortable, had a restaurant on site, perfectly groomed grounds, a view of lake Arenal, Tucans flying around, a short distance from the Arenal Vocano..... I mean, what's not to like? We plan on going back to Arenal and will definitely stay here again.
This is not a resort, just a good old fashioned clean hotel to relax before starting your adventure.

Friendly host. And good German beer. Nice birding view
No power in our two units. No response from emergency number for 4 hours by which time we had left. Main hotel property had power but our remote double unit had none. Which meant no showers for us. Asked for refund but he refused because it was power outage. The power problem. Was a property issue and not the local power coop
Diner was marginal and slow and wine was not drinkable.

I had a nice and comfortable room with a spectacular view on the beautiful garden and on the Arenal lake. The host Reinhard en hostess Cecilia are very warm and welcoming and ready to help with anything.

Outstanding location, with beautiful, well tended grounds and a great view of Lake Arenal. Lots of flowers and birds. The breakfast was tasty and complete, wirh a view of the grounds and the lake.
The room didn't have air conditioning, and the fan was barely adequate for the afternoon heat. While the bathroom was roomy, there was black mold in the shower, so I didn't use it. Also the lights at night were too weak.

This property has very nice views of the lake. The owner from Germany is very friendly and accommodating, I booked last minute the last available room. The restaurant on site is very convenient as well. Great value for money.

the German owner is a perfect host and a gentleman!
breakfast is delicious and bird watching incl. humming birds is guaranteed due to decades of feeding the birds near the tables.
the view over the huge garden down to the lake is spectacular

Fabulous place, beautiful gardens and wild birds coming to the feeding platform at breakfast, great restaurant, comfortable room, lovely relaxed feel to the place that would have been nice to spend more time, great price for such a good location
Nothing, all good

Extraordinary way to see birds up close. Eccentric small lodge with spectacular views of Lago Arenal, beautiful gardens and charming outdoor veranda o. which to eat and watch birds up close as owner feeds them fresh fruit from a platform. simply magical spot.
Nothing.

A quaint Bavarian chalet with lush landscapes, European food, birds galore and fabulous vibes. Trails through the woods, a swimming area in a small river, feeding toucans by hand every morning, a very reasonable price for private rooms, an entertaining host. Like stepping into a Wes Anderson film. A true hidden gem.
Some bunk mattresses are a little thin, but double and queen beds are excellent. Showers are timid and luke warm and it gets cold at night, but the overall experience and price make this place a return visit for me.

Such a gorgeous setting overlooking the lake. Also beautiful gardens with a variety of birds. The room was very comfortable and super clean. Each room has a seating area outside. Friendly staff. Good value. Highly recommended.

The owner and the staff were fantastic. We enjoyed nice meals, beautiful views and epic birdwatching.
The beds weren't terribly comfortable but for the price I didn't expect the Ritz.

It felt like paradise! The variety of birds you get to see there is incomparable to any other place! Do yourself a favor, sit down for breakfast on the balcony and see for yourself - you will be surprised, and you definitely won't regret it.
Rooms are very basic but very clean. I'll definitely be back at this lovely place!
