We enjoyed the quiet location, but it was still close to many attractions and had lots of cool restaurants and cafe in the area.

Very comfortable room. More spacious than the average in Japan (from my observation). Comfy bed and good sized bathroom. Great location close to train station. Never saw any other guests

First up, the rooms are very generous by Japanese standards so represent good value for money. The location is a bit out of the way - 8-10 minute walk to nearest station. The bed was very comfortable with lovely comfy duvet cover and good quality linen. The set up is a bit odd. No room servicing, you pick up clean towels and amenities from stock in the hallway on each floor. It's fine, but unexpected. There is no breakfast available, however there are good options within a 10 minute walk. Recommend the school bus bakery and cafe for western style breakfast or Noku hotel breakfast (accepts outside guests). Imaya next door was ok, but the others were better. Reception is rarely staffed, so did feel a bit like staying at a ghost hotel at times.

- Our room was very large, beautifully decorated and super comfortable. The beds were amazing!
- Loved the location with tons of breakfast options and amazing izakaya's nearby. Most of the tourist locations were within walking distance.
- Although there's not always somebody at the reception they were always there when we needed them.
Nothing. We loved our stay there and would love to stay again!

Spacious rooms. Location is close to Karasuma Oike subway station (approx 500m). Several options nearby for cofee, breakfast, and all sorts of different restaurants. It was a good base for us to exploring Kyoto as it's close to Nijo castle, Imperial Palace, and only takes a few minutes walk to the nesrest bus stops.

The room/ suite was just beautiful and so spacious. It felt very authentically Japanese and was so different from other corporate hotels we stayed in. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had lovely pyjamas and toiletries to use. The location was great for seeing Kyoto and the local market had everything you could possibly want to buy. Local cafes and restaurants were also good plus it’s about 8 min walk to the metro.

Close to main Street, convenience store, subway, and Nijyojyo (a historical castle). Also, walking distance to Nishiki market etc.
The bed was comfortable, especially the cover was super thick and puffy. Amenities were self service and plenty. It was very quiet and clean.

I loved the homey feel and the beds were so comfy. The staff is really friendly.
There’s no laundry machine so that was tough and they don’t clean every day.

It was wide and comfortable, very clean.
We could not open the window.

This room was great value for money!
Our beds were incredibly comfortable with two pillows to choose from (one softer, one harder) and the bathroom had everything you could need: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotions, hair dryer etc
Staff was friendly too and everything very clean!

We had a peaceful & quiet room. Everything was clean. We slept very well, the 2 beds were way oversized. The neighbourhood was also nice with an awesome breakfast possibility just a minute down the street.
nothing.

This hotel was the best one we stayed in during our holiday!
Beautiful, massive room. Super comfy pillows and blankets, biggest bathroom I’ve seen in Japan hotels.
Super clean, tidy and well presented.
Located far enough out of the city to not have to experience the hustle and bustle of loud tourists but close enough to be able to walk to most major attractions / train stations!
Very affordable for such an amazing room.
Staff were so kind and helpful. They had a translator at the front desk to make sure all of our questions would be answered.
I will be insisting everyone I know to stay in this hotel ashen they visit Kyoto!
I honestly couldn’t fault it!

Great location, friendly staff, nice room. Great value for the money! Amazing soap and product selection in the bathroom ☺️
Room was very hot and humid as we were in the basement! We needed to run the fan quite a bit.

Located in a quiet neighbourhood, not far from the station and easy to get around. Well maintained room (bonus points for the comfortable bed! :) )

Room, service and location excellent.
As a married couple, we should have arranged a king sized bed and not the twin beds

Whole hotel was very well decorated and kept in theme. Had a lot of extra unexpected amenities in the bathroom, which were nice with the availability of western and eastern style bathing facilities in the room. Everything about the bed was extremely comfortable.
There was a motion activated light near the bathroom that was frustratingly bright in the middle of the night.
We were trying to take primarily JR line transportation for getting around Kyoto, and it was a twenty or so minute walk in order to get to the nearest train station. (if you don't mind using the subway/busses, it is rather convenient).

A great hotel. Excellent location, with great places for breakfast and dinners just yards from the front door. Try the italian themed cafe/ restaurant left out the door, first right, then up a bit on your right, for dinner. Good sized room, spotlessly clean, great beds and more potions and lotions in the bathroom than I've ever seen anywhere else.I'll definitely stay again.
There was nothing not to like.

Short walk from/to Nijo castle. Metro station and bus stops are also within a few blocks. Super clean, great amenities (the pajamas are so comfy), and friendly staff.

I liked the room it was very nice and location was good and room was very nicely priced
charged 2000 yen extra for every hour after 10am, never really staff there so if you lost your card you were screwed and room was never cleaned, I stayed 3 nights

The room was spacious and the lighting was amazing.
Being able to adjust the brightness with such ease was nice.
The shower/bathroom was also very spacious for japan.
The bed sheets we had smelled a bit.
It was like mildew and musty.
It most definitely wasn’t pleasant.

When entering the hotel, it was a bit disappointing since there was not much space, no staff at the front desk, it just didn't look like a proper hotel at all. But the room itself was huge, the facilities were beyond my expectations. I also got some very valuable information such as public bath and restaurant recommendations from the staff, who had been living here since childhood.
It felt a little bit inconvenient with no staff around at all. Although you can call them when you are in need, just need to wait a little. Also they forgot to give me new towels after taking out the old ones on the second night.

I really liked the central location. It was an easy walk to Ni-jo jo (Nijo castle) and the Kyoto Imperial Palace as well. Good access to public transport (buses, subway). It was also an extremely comfortable hotel to stay in and the hotel staff were very friendly. I was able to understand almost everything they said in Japanese but when I couldn't, they also repeated the information for me in English. I will definitely go back here when I come to Kyoto!

The room was very spacious. The bathroom was nice and clean. The beds were very comfy.
They could have put a sofa there - there was no good sitting area to relax.
