Place was perfectly located and had everything we needed. Host was super helpful and responsive. Would definitely return!

Property was in good location and a nice cottage. Unfortunately it could have been cleaner and we didn't use cooker due to cleanliness. Also, carpet an stairs was loose which resulted to me having accident on them. Very creaky beds. On the plus side we had a lovely small hamper for us on arrival

Lovely little property in an ideal location was disappointed with the little garden not as in the photos dirty table and chairs full of cobwebs and full of weeds was looking forward to sitting in it. A few other minor issues too long to list but the lighting in the living room was poor the two side lights didn’t work and the ceiling light only one bulb.
Enjoyed our stay despite issues

We wanted to book somewhere safe and homely to stay during my birthday with my partner and our 3 dogs, it was our first holiday to take them away so we were anxious on the type of accommodation we needed, this house was absolutely perfect and more than big enough for us all! It was well kept and definitely felt cosy and instantly at home, would definitely book to stay again!

There were some really lovely furniture and ornament touches. Some of the walls and paintwork could do with a little TLC. However, it was a great base for our trip. There was a very generous welcome basket and the property had everything we needed for our stay.
2.0
At first glance, the property was lovely. Welcome pack is generous. The layout and flooring of the kitchen is nice and spacious.
The carpet on the landing and stairs was dirty. Though all other flooring area has been cleaned.
The bed is below standard. If you look underneath, we found it was held up by bricks to support. Due to my wife having spinal and neck surgery, this resulted in us have to leave a day early as she had severe migraines sadly throughout the Christmas period. Day of writing this review Christmas Eve 2022.
The wardrobe in the main bedroom almost came down when my wife opened the door. If I had not been there, this would have resulted in an accident. The leg on the bottom right is very loose, and the whole wardrobe needs securing to the wall. This is a Hazard, especially if you have children.
It would be nice if there was a television in the bedroom and back room where the conservatory is as we believe this would give us the full benefit of choosing which room to spend time in.
The shower unit is very high, so if you are short or if you have had spinal or shoulder injuries, you are going to struggle to operate. When you turn the shower on full power, the temperature goes cold. To have it warm, the power needs to be low.
The bathroom is big and spacious, very nicely tiled, though it could also do with some towel rails.
On speaking with the host, they rely on a cleaner and maintenance people. Sadly, in my opinion, they have not been maintaining the property to standard and the host needs to do more to keep things in check.
The place definitely has excellent potential. The sofas we found really comfortable and cosy. The conservatory area is a nice feature for your morning coffee. Free Wifi and a good welcome pack.
I don't know how this property received a rating of 8.5 when I compare it to other properties we have stayed in, for us it was more like 3 - 4.5.

The house was lovely. The sink was blocked and water ran slow down the drain in the kitchen. The toilet must have been a junior primary school as it was so low us 2 old adults with old bones it was hard to get up and down and the toilet wouldn't flush all the time as though there was a water shortage. As for the two old settees in the lounge were full of something made us itch all night and had to have a showers and we were still itching we actually took the cushions off and discovered old food that had been there for sometime even though we hoovered the settees off. The old settees are past there sell by date. My husband is 5 ft 11 ins and lying in the only double bed in the house with iron bed head top and bottom having to try to sleep with his feet through the bars at the bottom not a very good night must have been the smallest bed they could find. No disrespect to anybody. Emma and the booking process was lovely with these problems we are 2 old people and try to make the best of all situations to enjoy our holidays so thank you Porthcawl for our holiday.

Why choose a hotel when you can have this
We recently visited Porthcawl and stayed at this lovely house. The property was spotless and Emma was very welcoming. The welcome pack is nothing like I've ever had before. If you're looking for a place to stay, forget the hotels. This is the way forward.

Lovely, cosy house in a great location for the beach
Positives
- decor (lovely cosy, nautical vibes)
- cleanliness
- location
Negatives
- beds not the most comfortable
- property felt a bit small for 6 adults, the double sofa bed would be better for one person, two children or two small adults but it was fine for a weekend away and didn’t stop us enjoying ourselves
Overall
We had a great stay. Would recommend.

Host was very welcoming and provided a well cared for and thought-out home.
Welcome pack was such a lovely touch. Hot tub was enjoyed and a fun added extra.
Newton beach really close and perfect for swimming and relaxing. Rest Bay was a fun beach for body board and rock pools.
Fireworks night on Tuesday made a nice evening out sitting outside at 00 pizza restaurant.
Would return and recommend to friends and family.
