Nestled in Point Lookout, this lovely cottage for $177 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. "Starfish" is a comfortable 1 bedroom plus bunk room cottage, close to natural bushland and only 1 kilometre from the beach (Please scroll down to bottom of first page to see exact location on local map) Starfish has everything you need for a stress free beach holiday. Winter brings the majestic Humpback Whales on their annual migration to Hervey Bay. A short drive to lookouts and from May to August, you will see them heading north. From August to November they return to their summer home in the Antarctic waters. Other whales can also frequent the crystal clear waters off North Stradbroke Island. Cottage features Quiet, peaceful location Close to natural bush land Low level, meaning easy luggage loading Full kitchen facilities including: refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric frying pan, utensils, crockery 1 Queen size bed in bedroom Single bunk beds in bunk room (small sized room) Air Conditioning Cosy BBQ area Native birds in area Wildlife in close proximity regularly Gated enclosure for a pet. (Strictly only 1 dog permitted) Island features Pristine beaches Beautiful headland gorge walk, including sightseeing Picture yourself barefoot on a pristine beach, not a care in the world. Sun glistening through crystal clear blue water, dolphins surfing the waves. Seagulls, terns and oyster catches go about their day on the beach too. You may spot a kite or eagle gliding above the dunes. This is a small taste of what is awaiting you. To experience all North Stradbroke Island has to offer, a pleasant trip across Moreton Bay is necessary. Regular vehicular ferries and passenger boats depart from Cleveland, a bay side area, south east of Brisbane. Ferry and passenger boat trips depart daily from 5am, until late, depending on day of week. More about that later, but it must be said that this relaxing trip will de-stress and unwind you in preparation for your stay in paradise. A 15 minute drive from Dunwich, were the ferry and boat terminals are, is Starfish.

Overall a great place to stay. Beds were really comfortable. Kitchen supplied with lots of utensils to cook, almost like being home. Dishwasher was a plus. Do bring your own coffee, tea, sugar, shampoo, conditioner and soap though.becauce they were not supplied..BBQ on the little deck was a really handy adition. No internet but like most of Straddie. Hard to find a good connection spot. Download maps, food places and places of interest before you come. Penty of dvds and family games in the house so that was very good. Really nicely set up little house. We will definitely be back when at Straddie again.

Lovely location but bring everything you need-including pepper gladwrap/foil (large container of salt found)! Outdoor area rather bleak. Books on Minjerribah and local history would also be a welcome addition to the stay. Next door fish outlet fabulous!

Nice little and tidy, bbq is usable but needs a tidy up, dog enclosure could be around the back door to give a bit more freedom for pooch, has everything you need including a Nespresso pod machine…Enjoy.

Located in a quiet residential area, but close enough to easily visit any beach at Point Lookout, we really enjoyed our stay at Starfish on Straddie. We were able to manage our small dog who probably had the best time ever, loving the dog-friendly beaches. A magical moment was also watching a koala walk down the footpath into a neighbours yard before disappearing into the trees; and the kangaroos are just a normal part of the scenery - where else can you experience Australian wildlife like that!

The location is great. Easy short drive to anywhere or a 1km walk to the nearest beach. It was a lovely clean little cottage with very comfortable beds. Our little dog loved it too. We will be back for sure.

Conveniently located next to fresh seafood shop...! Clean bright and cheerful. Only problem is no WIFI. But if you want a stress free holiday then that's a good thing..!! Thank you Mel

The property is exceptionally clean. However as we are seniors the location was probably not the best for us as we enjoy walking and found we had to drive everywhere ,the property is located in a hilly part of the Island. Our fault we should have researched.

This property was perfect for our family of 3. It had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and it is in a peaceful and convenient location with the added bonus of being able to buy fresh seafood right next door. We are regular visitors to Straddie, it was the first time we have stayed in this area and we would absolutely stay again. Thankyou!

Clean, bright and spacious for the 3 of us. Beds were comfy and there were loads of games and DVDs for the hours not spent at the beach. It had everything we needed for storage. Really well-stocked utensils cupboards and drawers. perfect!

This is our fourth stay at Starfish. We keep coming back because it’s such a fabulous little cottage in a great location with everything we need. And we can bring our dog who loves it as much as we do. Thanks Carolyn and Mal for another great stay and the delicious seafood, we will be back!

This is the easiest place to stay. Everything is there, everything works. Everything is well done. Nice ancient forest walking track close by, 5 mins walk to the beach. Thanks Carolyn and Mal, looking forward to next year.

I had a lovely stay at Starfish on Straddie. The cottage was spotless and everything you need is supplied..even laundry soap. The owners live next door and sell fresh seafood. The prawns were amazing. Best of all I was able to bring my dog…we had a great time at the beach and enjoyed watching the kangaroos hop by. I will definitely be going back.
