We stayed at this house with our 3 young children for 3 nights, and in general, we had a great time on our vacation. We did have some concerns, though, so here are the pros and cons of our experience:
Pros:
- Lovely house with lots of room to spread out, lots of deck space, and hard floors throughout makes it easy to clean up after the beach
- Easy walk to a part of the Galveston beaches that are rarely crowded
- Outdoor shower, beach wagon, bin full of beach toys for little kids, and a grill
- Large, well stocked kitchen with a table big enough to seat 6-8 people
- Friendly and accommodating owners
Cons:
- When we stayed, the dishwasher didn't work and the washing machine had significant mold in it, so we hand-washed all the dishes and skipped washing clothes (not a disaster, but inconvenient)
- More of a concern, there was significant mold in the air conditioning system that gave my family a pretty severe allergic/asthmatic flare-up that lasted several weeks. Galveston is a humid place, so this is common, but still worth mentioning.
Please note that the owners were very polite and willing to work with us to resolve the issues. They understand the problems and are committed to fixing them, so it's likely that our concerns might have been resolved by the time you rent this house.

One and a half blocks from the beach and very clean. Note that there are a lot of stairs since the house is on stilts, the main bedroom is on the second floor and you go up a half flight of stairs for the main bathroom.

We absolutely loved this place, we will be definitely staying there again 💕

House was perfect for our family to enjoy for all activities. Location to Beach was great just a short walk. Beach was not crowded

This beach house was perfect for our family of 5 which includes three children. The location was perfect! The house was a short walk to the beach and was also a short drive to all the fun stuff in Galveston. We found the beds very comfortable and the kitchen was great with everything that we needed. The host had a fast response to every question along with helpful information. Only one small thing to point out was that the washing machine is in need of a deep clean, but we were happy the house came with one. Overall our stay here was wonderful.

Perfect Beach Getaway
Our trip was planned last minute, but was much needed. The request to book was accepted quickly! Upon arrival, the home included everything that was expected. It is a short walk away from a private beach that is clean and sparsely populated. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning!

Absolutely wonderful!
The property is exactly as described. The beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious. The location was PERFECT with a short walk to a more private section of the beach. The beach it’s accessible to was nice and quiet as well. I would definitely recommend this house to everyone coming here and I’d for sure reserve it again!

Great times with friends and so close to the private beach. Not far from shops and restaurants. Overall great place and decent value. Property could use some updating but would recommend. Good memories were made!

This was our first time to Galveston, and the trip consisted of me, my husband, our two teen boys, and my aunt.
We are used to going to Florida and were pleasantly surprised by the privacy and lack of crowds at the beach. The house could be absolutely spectacular, but it needs work. It appears cleaner in the photos and doesn't show the dilapidated, boarded up house as it stands today.
I'll go thru the list of pros and cons our family listed...
Pros
+3 Bedrooms and 3 Baths!
+Awesome master bedroom and bathroom
+Great kitchen
+Great family room with couch big enough for four people to lounge. (Though the couch cushions are losing their firmness.)
+Proximity to the beach was just a short walk
+Fabulous, uncrowded beach
+close to state park for free fishing
+ AC was amazing! Kept us all cool the entire time
+Washer and dryer were awesome, and we ran loads every day
+Labels on the light switches were so helpful (although our old eyes had to squint to read them). Maybe try larger font.
+ House was well stocked with essentials - everything we needed for the kitchen (though a crockpot would be a good addition). I appreciated nice liquid hand soap at EVERY sink. And there was shampoo and body wash and hair dryers in every bathroom! And there was plenty of SOFT toilet paper. Thank you! Could use more tissues. I think there was one open box, which ran out quickly. The wagon was a huge help in hauling our beach gear.
+Quick response by Tanya every time I messaged her.
Cons:
-Needs a thorough, deep clean, especially in the bathrooms
-Could use interior paint job, especially in bathrooms
-exterior needs powerwash/paint job
-stairs and deck need maintenance.
-Lower bedrooms are geared more for kids than adults. The bedframes are bunk beds split apart, which is fine. But better mattresses would be appreciated by the adults sleeping in these rooms. I have vertigo and the master bedroom swayed due to wind so I had to sleep with one of my boys in the kids' room on a lower level. certainly not the owner's fault, but I saw needs in lower beds.
-More pillows needed
-Exhaust fan broken in the one attached to a bedroom, which happened to be the room I slept in. I didn't let kids take showers in there because I didn't want the humidity.
- One of the blinds in the living room needs repair. Crack across bathroom cabinet (in bathroom with broken exhaust fan). Hole in wall by light fixture in other downstairs bathroom.
- Vacant, Dilapidated house next door.

Awesome house and great owners!
1st and foremost, communication with the owners is top notch. Any time we messaged them they responded within 5 mins. That in itself it a plus for us.
The house was awesome! Clean, so much room, cozy, linens and bedding were clean, kitchen is fully stocked with cooking needs. The walk to the beach is easy and less than 5 mins.
We enjoyed the stay and will definitely be booking this house again.

Hello we stayed at the property from June 10-14. We had absolutely no problems. I even locked myself out LoL contacted the owner and she sent me the code right away. The property was very nice and accommodating. Access to the beach was so easy just a 6 minute walk. I will definitely be contacting them next year for our summer vacation.

Overall a great experience
Location was great. Close to the pier and shops but far enough away that the beach wasn’t crowded. Neighbors were nice. Owner communicated well. A few little things were somewhat inconvenient like one of the bathroom door handles kept getting jammed, the ice/water was not working, and it was super hot at night inside. Overall I would rent here again.

Fun and relaxing family vacation
Was a great place to meet with 4 adults and 3 children for a family get together. Safe neighborhood for short walk to beach.. Upstairs balcony was a great location for sunrises and sunsets. Tanya responded quickly to questions that we had.

Super quick walk to the beach, clean house, very attentive owners who were quick to reply to questions. Happy we got to spend Christmas at this location.

Nice beach house within walking distance to the beach. Large bedrooms with comfortable beds. Relaxing balcony and living areas. Easy to access streaming services to enjoy down time at the end of the day. One suggestion for improvement would be to include at least one day of bathroom essentials such as shampoo, conditioner & body soap. Also, a roll of paper towels and a laundry pod would have been nice.

Great Thanksgiving 2020
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was a short walk to a very nice section of the beach. And the home was very clean, well appointed and had great amenities. We will definitely return.

I only have good words to tell from the moment we booked the property to the last day we left .
Beach house was bright , clean and nice . There’s plenty of windows to let natural light in. The water pressure was good and hot water is awesome. There’s plenty of clean towels and TV is friendly user. I do hope to have more sitting area in living room . Couch is small for that size .

Girls Weekend at the Beach
The house was very clean and the linens/towels were freshly laundered. There was plenty of room for all of us and check in/out was very easy. There was even a bag of ice in the freezer ready for cold drinks when we arrived. We definitely enjoyed our stay.

Everything about our experience was great, except the weather. The house was perfect for me and my two teens. Everything was very clean. the giant deck was my favorite part! Sadly, the weather made us cut our trip short, but we’ll be back.

Great location
Enjoyed our stay over Labor Day Weekend. Very close to the beach and away from the big crowds along the sea wall. There’s a dollar store across the street for anything you forgot which is very convenient. I would definitely consider staying here again next year

Great beach house
We had a wonderful time at this beach house. The location was great - a block and half from a super quiet stretch of beach. The house itself was clean and well-kept, and plenty of room for our family of 6. (The wi-fi was strong enough for me to do a Zoom call while my kids were all on their devices - important information in 2020!) We hope to come back!

Loved it! Very minimalistic and the owners were easy to reach if we needed anything, even before check-in. Would definitely reccomend for a small family trip!

This house was large and very welcoming. Location was perfect, beach within walking distance and only minutes from town if we needed something. Owner's were very friendly and accommodating as well. We would definitely stay here again :)

Nothing like advertised photos and several safety hazards
I would NOT recommend staying at this property . It is in dire need of upkeep (deep cleaning and fresh paint...inside the front door at handle was disgusting) and much needed safety improvements. There were no lights on outside stairs for coming and going at night. When I asked owner where lights were I was told they went out at last storm...there has been time to repair that prior to taking our payment. The second floor balcony had area on railing that if leaned upon it could possibly collapse and upper balcony was very poorly built...we were scared to even sit on it.
The railings on the stairs inside leading to first level of bedroom is dangerously loose. The shower in master bath was poorly built and the jacuzzi tub does not work at all...yet is featured in ad.
It’s also advertised as one block from beach...more like 2 1/2 and not easy access.
This was worst HomeAway property we have been to and I would think that HomeAway would have better standards.
