Perfect beach house for a long weekend family trip! Nice kitchen for cooking, deck with chairs for hanging out and meals, and close to the beach. Clean and comfortable with plenty of room!

Every single thing about this property is as advertised, less than 40 yards to the beach if you walk around the other properties. Great partial view from the back deck. This leads us to the biggest issue with this property by far and the reason it would take this property from a five star rating to a three star. Some of the decking boards are literally disconnected. If you were to step on them, they would shoot up like a rake where they are attached on one side and not the other. The nails and screws in the deck are rusted through and poking out everywhere. You cannot walk on this deck in bare feet . The wood planks are splintering, and when you go to the far right side of the deck you can feel it move. It is legitimately terrifying. The property manager needs to replace this deck immediately. It is not safe and I would not stay here again because of this. Other then that it’s clean and you can tell they are doing a decent job keeping up with the property. The deck is legitimately not safe.

Cannot say enough good things about this beach house! The location is great( you can see the ocean from the deck, and about a 3 min walk to beach) the house/ decor is perfect! Nice and cozy. We stayed with 4 adults and a 4 year old and it was perfect for us! 5 min drive to great restaurants in Jamaica beach, and about a 8 min drive to Galveston island brewing. We we’re missing a couple of things, messaged them and had them dropped off in a matter of minutes! Great customer service! Only regret we have, is even though they told us about all the fun things in the garage, we didn’t go in until we were packing to leave. So many cool things in there to use!! We already made plans for this to be an annual family getaway! Book this place! You won’t regret it!!

Everything was great and better than expected. Well maintained and great location with just steps to the beach which was also very clean with fine sand. Loved the outdoor shower. Would definitely stay there again….

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. There was a heavy fog our entire stay so it was an interesting time at the beach. It was a very short distance to the beach which was really nice.

Due to immediate family in the hospital, i needed to secure a place that could host family and my dog. The host responded immediately with an extended stay as the VRBO App does not allow you to book same day without a response....so this 5 star is about the immediate response and the accuracy of the location. It worked perfectly for our needs. thank you team!

The location is 2 min walk to beach and you can see it from the awesome Patio. Beach very clean. We all enjoyed jumping waves. It is about 15 min to grocery store and 20-30 min from attractions in Galveston. Rental was clean. There was 5 adults and 3 kids and plenty of room for all of us to spread out. Kitchen small but well stocked, room enough for two to cook. Stove top has one large burner and 2 small. Not designed to cook a lot of big meals. We did a lot non cook meals on the patio. The Patio is awesome. Seemed like New beds, 2 were Ikea style and low to ground. They had a lot of bathroom towels. The outdoor shower was wonderful, hate getting the floors all sandy so it was perfect. The host was great. Had no issues.

This was our second visit to Cactus Flower and once again we really enjoyed it. The house is nicely furnished, a short walk to a quiet beach (no vehicles), and a deck (partially covered) to relax on. It's far enough away from the seawall congestion to be quiet and yet is just a short drive to Seawall restaurants (Mario's Italian or Gumbo Diner) or The Strand (Willie G's), The owner are great to work with, with clear, prompt communications. We look forward to another visit.

We loved the view (great with big windows and from the deck)and closeness of the beach (1-2 minutes walk). Living space hood for small groups could be crowded for larger groups. I feel that if the management stepped up on things like providing better quality toiletries (shampoo,soaps and toilet paper) it would make it more pleasant for guest. Some other things that need attention are having a smoke detector, clean bedding, and fix loose boards on deck. Also I never received any emails on how to get in the house or expectations while we stayed there and for checking out.

Great location with beach views and we were just steps away from the beach. Property was modernized, very comfortable, and spacious. They had plenty of amenities (just bring your own shampoo and bath soap like they state).. They have beach toys and kayaks, but we didn’t use them. They even have a foot wash at the bottom of the stairs which was nice. Lots of deck space too. I would highly recommend this rental property.

A very clean houses with lots of windows and views. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. The only thing that needs improved are the beds that need replaced.

Everything was fine except that the beds are too low. Hard to get in and out of. Not able to sit on them which was especially a problem in the bedroom with no chair which also needs a chest of drawers.

Had a great time with our daughter and Grand Kids. Very good Location. Would definitely rent again.

Great location and ocean views. Quiet neighborhood, just outside of the hustle of Galveston. The house had everything you needed for the beach. Our son even tried out the ocean kayak. Just a tip to the owner, the deck is in need of repairs. Boards are starting to come up and the railing is loose. Thank you so much for letting us stay.

Excellent experience. Beach was private, plenty of space for 2 adults, 4 kids. Plenty of amenities to keep us comfortable, fed and clean. We cooked most meals and used their Beach supplies. Beds were both a little low and made lots of noise, but we would definitely return to this house!

We really loved our time here! It was a perfect location, the deck was lovely, and it had what we needed!!! There are a few little things that could be attended to (loose deck boards, stove, and flickering kitchen light), but nothing that would hinder your stay! We highly recommend this location, and plan to be back again!

We had 6 adults and a toddler and our stay here was wonderful. Location was perfect. 1 minute walk to the beach. The room with the murphy bed was close to the kitchen and not much privacy but we made it work. The tub drained slow and may need some work for future stays. Those were just minor issues. Everything else was perfect. Loved all the beach toys and chairs and umbrellas. The outdoor shower was great to get rinsed off before entering the house. The deck was perfect in the evenings with the ocean breeze. Never saw any bugs or mosquitos which was a major plus for us. We will definitely be back!

My husband, myself, and our dog spent five nights at this vacation rental, and could not have been happier. We loved that the home was not decorated with the typical beach themes -- seashells, fish, nautical, etc. Instead, it was a bright white with lime greens and some black details, Ikea style. We especially enjoyed all of the amazing deck chairs, which were so colorful and even had drink holders that swiveled out. The deck itself was a place we wished we didn't have to leave! So spacious, great view of the water (steps away), lovely cactus plants, smell of oleander wafting in. It was truly an extension of the living room given all of the windows. (We could have used a gate at the top of the stairs for our dog, but we employed several chairs to block them off.) It was fantastic to be in the second row but still be so close to the water! The sound of the waves was so relaxing. We enjoyed all of the lighting in the house, choosing to leave the pretty standing lamp with the glass bulbs on all night. The bathrooms had wonderful towels, and showers that were immediately hot. Kitchen was well equipped, and we felt right at home with the provided utensils and dishes (loved the wine glasses and melamine flowered bowls). The master bed was extremely low and the mattress very soft, kind of like a water bed -- but still, we slept amazingly well! The second bedroom, however, (which we didn't need), smelled as though the bedspread needed washed -- sort of a dirty feet or body odor smell. One of the nights, there were sustained 35 mph winds, and the screen door, which was a bit rusted and couldn't be closed completely, had been propped open against the house by a large rock before we arrived. When the winds really got going, the handle of the door continually hit the side of the house, and was scary when combined with the house shaking with the winds. The next day, my husband engineered a way to close the door as much as possible. We also noticed two of the transformers near the house sparking a lot, since they get rusty, so the HOA must need to call and have that addressed every so often. Minor things, all in all. The neighborhood was nice, a great place for taking walks looking at the homes and then up and down the beach. We met some friendly home owners as well as travelers, which was fun. And Travis and Myra were excellent at communicating with us! Thank you! It was a fabulous stay....we felt like we could have comfortably stayed forever.

It was close enough to the city where you could run and get groceries/food or whatever you need but still was far enough that most of the traffic and tours tot’s spots were interfering! It was so much fun and very peaceful!
