The place was amazing, quiet and that's how i wanted it to be
As I travelled with children, I expected house cleaning every day or bedding changing at least after 3 days, bathroom/toilet cleaning everyday, but this did not happen, so I was a bit disappointed. I hope this will be worked on in the future

The place is absolutely gorgeous. You get to immerse yourself in nature while enjoying the yummy food, cleanliness of the facility and the kindness of the staff! Definitely going back!
If you’re driving yourself, be a little cautious of the road especially during the rainy season.

It was great! A local initiative in peaceful surroundings, a great eco farm, friendly staff (Regina! The cooks!) and fun other travellers. I barely left the place and booked an extra night 😊
Nothing. Just be prepared for electricity cuts as elsewhere in Tanzania

It was quite and our room looked out to tropical garden and the whole place was tropical farm by the river we went on few walking trips to waterfalls
The kitchen staff were very friendly but also very slow and sometimes there was not enough food for all the guests but did give them a few tips

Lovely location and the tour roy d the farm was a fun walk around and got to the river.
The staff were lovely and accommodating when we arrived early in the morning.
The food is also lovely, we were very pleased that we chose to stay here rather than in the centre of Arusha.
The roof leaked a little when it rained heavily and the shower was cold at times but it’s a completely self sustained farm and it wasn’t too bad so i would still stay here again, it’s a good price for what it is and it didn’t have a bad impact on our stay

Very cool place to stay, they do more than your ordinary hostel! If you want, you’ll get a free tour through the farm, Grounds, which is super interesting. You learn a lot about Loco agriculture and plans.
Due to its nature as a farm. It is a bit of a hassle getting there from the city.

Fabulous hostel, good amenities and great value for money. Great vibe😀
She’s a pretty bumpy road to get up there.

It feels like the Banana Farm is pretty much self sustainable. They grow their own food, they build the houses and rooms themselves, and it makes you feel like you're in a little paradise. I would definitely recommend the free tour through the Banana Farm. It gives you a lot of insight and it's fun. I loved our room, (we booked a bungalow just for ourselves). I would recommend this, since some other guests told us they had a noisy room, but we had absolute quiet in our Bungalow, and it's also just really cute.

Our stay at Banana Farm Eco Hostel surpassed all expectations. The vast property, revealed through a fascinating free banana tour, showcased the incredible scale of this eco-friendly farm. Freshly cooked meals daily added a delightful touch, and the kindness of the people created a small village atmosphere. We were so enamored with our experience that we extended our stay; unquestionably, the best accommodation in Arusha.

Besonders gutes Preisleistj gsvefhältnis. Aussergewöhnlich gutes Essen. Sehr freundliches Personal.

It is a bit far from Arusha, but the hostel is very clean and beautiful. The food is delicious.
The bathroom had a bit of water on the floor, not sure if it came from the shower.

It's such a cosy place set in a Banana and Coffee farm, they have set out so many amazing spaces and far exceeded my expectations! The staff were lovely and the food was some of the best and cheapest I had in Tanzania. I would recommend it to any of my friends or family
The road up to Banana farm is not great, so don't use your own car unless it's high riding or a 4x4. We used a taxi and he navigated it like a pro because that is the norm for Tanzanian roads

Loved this spot - away from the craziness of Arusha but also easy to access by dala dala (plus a short motorbike trip - they will be waiting to take you but be prepared it is a very very rough road!) For the price I was very pleased with my private room, the property has lots of space to explore, and it is easy to organize many activities. I enjoyed chatting with the other guests over 7pm dinner and afterward at the outdoor fire pit. Small shop to buy drinks / snacks opens at 4pm, free bananas any time, and water refill as well!
I was hoping that breakfast would include banana honey or jam…. (Nothing else I could complain about!!)

Is a very original place, kept with love from the staff. An amazing concept, under good practices that shall be expanded, and spread around to other hotels. Living is also better when we develop philosophy...

Beautiful stay in the middle of a banana farm with views over Mt Meru on the property. The farm was so big with lots of places to go for a walk or to chill. The room we had had a hammock to relax in.
We ate at the farm for a reasonable price, food was always good.
Water pressure was a bit low and hot water didn’t last for two showers.

Pros:
- Amazing setting in the Mt Meru highlands, surrounded by coffee plants and banana trees
- Our luxury cabin was adorable, very clean, basic but a unique place to stay
- The lady who welcomes you is very friendly and so were our two drivers who took us to the airport
- They offer a free farm tour every day at 3.30 which lasts about 2 hours and is very interesting
- Very Instagrammable
- WiFi in the communal area works surprisingly well for the jungle
- Looks like they have fun communal experiences in the evening - a fire pit and a film on a big projector by the beautiful river. Sadly didn’t get to experience this.
- We arrived at midnight because of a late flight (don’t recommend as they accommodated this but meant we didn’t see the farm at its best). We were taken to the wrong room. We had started getting settled in so felt we had to help them remake the beds and we were then very chaotically herded out of the room. The lady was apologetic the next day but on the night itself, I had said to her not to worry about it and that these things happen and was told that she was not at all worried about us but about the guests who were coming into the room we had been shown to. I get that but it was also rather inconvenient for us at 12.30am after a long day and I was just trying to make her feel better! I would You usually expect a small discount for that but none was offered and I didn’ty like to push for it.
- Unlike in other places there is no information briefing (we didn’t get one anyway) and Information is not very forthcoming so make sure to ask about breakfast and lunchtimes!
- Our cabin was £65 which isn’t a lot but considering we had stayed in a Manor House in Zanzibar with exceptional service for £50, the experience was rather different here. Obviously you except a different vibe at a hostel but I think you still expect the basics (to be given the WiFi password, to be told how to book in for lunch and when it is)
- Food is ok, not great. Lunch particularly poor, and the chefs were very sullen
- Considering you are staying on a coffee and banana farm, you will only get a tiny cup of coffee at breakfast and one very small banana! As they kept saying, they have 15 varieties, so why not offer a banana tasting experience? Or put one or two in every room? Or have a bowl of communal bananas in the pub area? Or offer them for sale in a shop??
- We were quoted $35 for the airport transfer each way and then charged $40
- overall we felt the vibe was quite weird! It was disappointing as it was so beautiful there and I had been really looking forward to it.
