Very enjoyable experience with our kids, but food and overall management need to improve.
Location is great. Tent was in a good condition and luxurious. Game drives were great - saw big four and some animals we have never seen before. Hot water bottles and blankets were a lovely touch to each game drive. The staff were very accommodating, and Willard, bar man Kenny and ranger Musa were the standouts. Great to see a safari lodge that is loadshedding proof.
Food was a let-down. Luxury safari destinations at this price point cannot simply serve buffet every meal. Breakfast omelets were raw and contained eggshells. Dinner options pretty limited and bland. Boma dinner would have been great had they not run out of food (such as bread) and plates. Clearly lack a qualified chef in the kitchen. Restaurant staff were good for the most part but did at times not serve all that was ordered. Room included mosquito net for the adults, but none for the kids. Africology products are served in the rooms (which is great), but our shampoo dispenser did not work and one of the body lotion bottles were cracked open on the side. These were not checked and replenished during our stay which points to a lack of proper controls and management in general. Game rangers are not equipped with spotlights for night drives which is unacceptable (could not view a pack of wild dogs clearly as a result).

DEFINITELY WAS NOT VALUE FOR MONEY.
The Game drives were very good, staff were very efficient and friendly.
The tented room was terrible, bathroom sucked, leaking toilet when flushed, bathroom had an awful smell all the time, lighting was very bad in the bathroom, no views, very run down, the meals were very average, mini bar had expired drinks in fridge. Bottled drinking water was not sealed properly.

Good
Great location, friendly staff and incredible food.
Although rustic is intended, the tents could do with a general refurb.

Very relaxing
Food was amazing from Breakfast to Dinner, the Spa was very nice. Kenny the waiter was exceptional always making sure you are taken care off.
The Bruch was very thick so spotting animals like Lion, leopard or cheetah was challenging but we did manage to see lots of other animals.

Amazing stay at a beautiful lodge
The staff were so welcoming and friendly. A special mention to Andrew who is the most attentive barman I have ever met, always checking to see if he could get us anything and making sure we were ok. I can not speak highly enough of Andrew, he was so friendly & just had a loving persona, he would make anyones day just with his smile, laugh and friendly vibe. The rooms were very comfortable & the bed is one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. The double hanging egg chairs on the rooms balcony was the best idea we have seen in a lodge, so relaxing and comfortable that we will now be buying one when we get home. The food was great and the inclusive drinks were what we normally drink - wines, beers, ciders, spirits. Even a mini bar in the room which I’m sure you can top up anytime but we didn’t need to. The game drives were good, animals were few and far between only seeing 2 of big 5 but just being in the parks is enough for us as we have done plenty of game drives and just making our way through all the parks.
The lodge does cater for larger groups so can be quite busy at times and staff are more attentive to the groups. Majority of our meals were buffet meals outdoors which is beautiful but where they set up there are a lot of bees & for someone who is allergic to them this is not ideal, just meant I didn’t get to see the full menu or eat much as I didn’t want to get stung. They moved all the shaded pool loungers quite early in the day to set up for the outdoor dining, only leaving some on the sunny side of pool.
