It is only a 10 minute walk away from groceries and downtown Hill City! It features a creek side walk out, view of Major Lake, and the Mickelson Trail in the heart of the Hills. The location is beautiful and the home is new and waiting for you! It comes with a side by side ATV for trail riding, fishing rods for the lake, and bicycles for the Mickelson Trail! This rental is available year round for hunting and ice fishing so check back for discounted rates during the off-season! Chuck’s Hill City house was the perfect ‘home base’ for our vacation in the Black Hills! Our two families thoroughly enjoyed all of home’s amenities & would definitively recommend it to families with kids of all ages.

We would highly recommend this beautiful home for vacation! The location and the view was amazing!! Every morning and evening we watched deer in the meadow from the deck. Definitely a home to have a family vacation! We had a great time! Thank you Chuck!

This is a really great property for large families or two families staying together. The house comes with lots of extras so that you can partake of all the things the area has to offer. Hill City is a charming enclave right in the heart of the Black Hills. We enjoyed watching the deer come down the hill in the morning and play tag in the meadow. Host was exceptionally helpful and knowledgable. Plenty of space and comfortable beds.

Where to even begin! I can’t say enough good things about this rental. The owner Chuck is amazing. He has thought of everything. If there is something he didn’t think of, he will do what he can to accommodate. My daughter loves tea and was thrilled to see assorted teas in the cabinet. The location is IN the Black Hills National Forest. You look out the back to the Michelson bike trail which in itself is amazing. There is a creek running through you can see & hear. The houses are all so pretty and different and set before the Black Hills. It just doesn’t get any better than this. I filter rentals using the “exceptionally clean” filter and this is the cleanest rental I’ve ever seen. The included ATV, assorted sized bikes & fishing poles were such great additions, we used them all. Not to mention the firepit, hot tub, foosball, pool table, darts, games, huge beautiful house, grill, deck table & large dining table. We sat in the hot tub at night, saw shooting stars and listened to the babbling water of the creek. Incredible. Town is so close you can walk, bike or ATV. The grocery store for all our needs too and decent prices. One thing I didn’t know about South Dakota is there are so many flies. I got bit a couple but I’d take it over the mosquitoes I’m used to at home since I’m allergic. We didn’t use bug spray all week. First time to South Dakota. It won’t be my last. I can only hope to return to this rental again with my family some day.

Great location for riding the bike. The house was very clean. Great walking, bike trail. Close to Hill City. You could walk to town if you wanted. There were 8 adults. Plenty of space for everyone. Nice table for everyone to eat together. Nice garage and deck out back to watch the deer in the morning and evenings. Would highly recommend 😊

Our family so enjoyed our stay in this home in the Hills this week! We especially enjoyed the proximity to the Mickelson Trail as we took walks every day enjoying the wild flowers and identifying the plants growing along the trail. Seeing the deer that wandered through every morning and evening was something we looked forward to as well. Our three grandchildren were very content to hang out at the house enjoying everything it had to offer. The house is so well furnished with everything you need to make you feel like you never left home! We are already trying to find a time when we can come back!

The home was set up for a lot of different activities and stocked nicely for young children. Chuck was easy to work with and provided helpful information. It is very close to the Mickelson Trail and would serve as a good halfway point.

The home was exactly what we needed to accommodate our entire family. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Hot tub! Pool table! Foosball! ATV! Location of property was in a quite neighborhood. Best of all was its location. Close to all the places we wanted to visit. And, close to restaurants. Chuck was very accommodating.

This place was fantastic! It is centrally located to all Blackhills spots. The neighborhood is quiet & peaceful. The owners are very professional, friendly & organized. Final papers were in a book on the counter to sign. If you stay in the home & get bored-it's your fault. Bikes, ATV, games galore, hot tub,fooseball table, pool table, TV's in every room & Wifi. If you want to make smoothies-they have a blender. Mixer/slow cooker/coffee pots & coffee & sugar/tons of utensils-even a whisk! Basic spices/flour/sugar. They thought of it all! Lots of towels/pillows. Beds were comfortable. Definitely recommend you try this place. 8 people and never ran out of hot water! Minor suggestions would be a 2nd fridge in the garage, step stool for the dryer & maybe a few more mixing bowls.

We couldn't have asked for more! It was just as advertised--very spacious, clean, "homey". We loved the kitchen table with views of the meadow, hills, and creek. We watched deer at dusk one night. The proximity to the Michelson Trail is so nice! We enjoyed walking, jogging, and biking the trail. The location is perfect for time in the Black Hills. So convenient to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, etc. We'd stay here again for sure! Having the bikes is a treat! We enjoyed the hot tub. We thought we'd enjoy the ATV but had so much else to do that we never did. Chuck was very helpful. Our entire family enjoyed it.

We had a great time!! This house is very spacious and beautiful. The only suggestion I would have is about the hot tub not being available during the winter. It is one of the main reasons I chose this property BUT I also didn’t read the message In it’s entirety so mostly my fault. My favorite thing was the open kitchen! I really enjoyed cooking while still being around everyone. Thank you so much for having us

This is our fifth year giving a travel experience to our adult children for Christmas. Sometimes the pictures of our rentals have built excitement and then the actual property is a little disappointing. This rental was exactly the opposite! Everything about it exceeded our expectations! The property owner has other rentals, and I wouldn't be shocked if after this positive experience, we seek out his locations in the years to come. I promise you won't be disappointed working with Floyd and his family!

The home had great space with rooms for everyone. Great central location to explore Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the local bike trail. Plenty activities to occupy our middle schoolers in the rec room. Know that many restaurants in Hill City and Keystone close for the season by mid Oct. We still found a few restaurants, a Brewery and the kitchen is well equipped to cook. Only minor suggestion would be to upgrade bath towels as many were threadbare with holes. Chuck was very responsive and helpful. Overall a great stay.

Had high expectations based on property description, photos, and communication with property owner. All were exceeded. Property owner met us at the house and shared tips, "how to's" etc. Very helpful. Plus owner was working in the area and we chatted with him several times. Excellent jump off point to Mt Rushmore, Spearfish Canyon, Rapid City, Keystone, Hill City, and of course Custer State Park. As there were only 2 of us, the house was very spacious. Enjoyed the pool table, darts, and foosball table multiple times. Bigger screen TV downstairs was also a treat. The kitchen was well equipped and we grilled twice. Loved the large windows overlooking the meadow in the back of the house. Loved the laundry room...especially a "folding clothes" table. Very handy. One strange comment: excellent toilet paper, not that paper thin stuff. Bottomline would stay again, an bring entire family, as there's lots of room.

Wow! This house was perfect for our group of friends. Between location, cleanliness, our host and even enough room in the garage for all our bikes, we couldn’t ask for a more perfect home. Oh, and que the deer in mornings with a view.

Extremely comfortable w/ lots to do in between daily excursions.. We loved using the hot tub in the evenings. Great location for visiting numerous attractions and walking distance from town. So many deer roaming around the neighborhood!

This was our first visit to the area. The house is in the perfect location for a base to do all of your sight seeing. Everything was as good (or even better) than the pictures show. Chuck is a great host and checked in (even with us having no issues). I would recommend booking and staying without hesitation.

Booked very early to make sure of availability , it was worth it. The house is better than advertised, big, spacious , clean. The owner met us when we arrived to explain the geography, town, sites, adventures etc. Our family of 13 ( grandparents, adults and kids) all enjoyed a great experience. Thank You

Great rental home with everything you need!

This house was perfect for our group of 8. The kitchen was fully stocked. The kids (and adults) loved the pool table, foosball, and darts. The hot tub was nice as well and plenty of towels were provided. The ATV was a hit with our group as well… not to mention the plethora of bikes, games, etc. Chuck met us upon check in and made sure all of our questions were answered and gave us a map of the area with some recommendations. I really can’t think of a single thing I would change. Will definitely consider staying here again.
