About this house rental
Enter from Kahala Ave. through front gates of the property, exclusively for cottage access. Enter into luxury living to Kahala Estate Cottage, which allows guests the choice of elegant interior living with air conditioning; or exterior living on the extensive deck with the pool, spa, tennis court and large lawn area (pest free year round). Walk on a private path, past one house, to Kahala Beach for swimming or snorkeling or walk further down the east side of the beach to the 5 star Kahala Hotel for snacks or full dining options or its own awesome beach. (All beaches in Hawaii are public). The large lawn is very pleasant and tennis court provides recreation for the family. The 'cottage' is a self contained luxury home away from home of approximately 1,850 square feet interior space with 2 car garage, 2.5 baths, 2 bedrooms and study and den area with queen size futon couch for additional space. The full kitchen has numerous seating areas, separate elegant dining room, and living room opens out to the pool and spa. The property shows pride of ownership as owner's home share the property but are rarely home. Property built by owner and completed in early 2000. Stays of 30 nights are required by law. Fantastic property. We used the pool almost daily. We had a family pickle ball tournament on the tennis court, and enjoyed the beautiful landscape of the estate. What’s undersold is the beach, it’s beautiful and only about a minutes walk from the pool. Great experience.

This place is amazing! Just an incredible location. Hosts were friendly and helpful. We went for the week of Thanksgiving break with my folks - 4 adults, and 2 kids under ten yrs old. It's a quick, safe walk down to the beach without having to cross a street. There is a nice little park just a quick walk along the beach. The pool and hot tub were used daily by all and were wonderful. And the tennis court too! We played a lot. My daughter discovered she really likes tennis. And you can walk just down the beach and swim with the dolphins at the Kahala resort! We hope to be lucky enough to return to this property again.

My family had such an incredible time at this wonderful laid back “cottage”! The property is absolutely exquisite…beautiful grounds complete with a mango tree, swimming pool, tennis courts, jacuzzi, and only a small pathway to the beach.
The house accommodated us quite nicely…there were a number of swim and play toys left in the garage for my grandkids’ use and the house was stocked with all of the necessities.
Just to note that you need to be mindful of any noise since the owners live on the property.

The property description gave the impression that it was a private residence, which is inaccurate. This property shares a garden with the owners main property, which felt intrusive. You felt like you were being watched, and they even told our kids to keep the noise down playing in the pool. Description to find the property was beyond confusing. Although it is advertised as 'upscale'. everything is dated and worn. Many things are broken like blinds, lamps etc. Communication from the owner prior to our arrival was cold and unwelcoming. Once we arrived, we sensed her discomfort towards our interracial family.

Property was perfect for a girls trip. It is close to downtown but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet from the resorts. Beach, pool and spa are nice and relaxing. Owners are very pleasant and kind. Overall a great stay, we would definitely stay here again!!

I gave this property 4 stars instead of 5 because the cottage itself is a bit dated however the amenities that come with the home make up for it and the owners are very responsive and take care of problems right away. Having a tennis court and pool and private beach access are the highlights here and our family loved staying here and had an amazing time. Being in Kahala is a prime neighborhood and it's always sunny there even when other parts of Oahu are cloudy. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Clean, well-stocked cottage. The beach is very shallow, perfect for all ages, and it is in close proximity to the property . The pool and tennis court are valuable and useful amenities.

Located a short walk from the Kahala Hotel (for sunset drinks) as well as the Kahala Shopping Center (which includes a Whole Foods), the cottage is perfectly situated to balance privacy with convenience. We also rented bikes, which made Waikiki Beach a short 20 minute ride away. The cottage itself is very comfortable, with 2 upstairs en suite bedrooms, each with separate air conditioning units. The kitchen is fully equipped and the gas grill works great for grilling that fresh fish! We hope to visit this charming cottage again soon!

Wonderful location just minutes away from Waikiki, yet peaceful along the Kahala coast. Nice beach just yards away, and the grounds of the cottage are lovely- pool, tennis court etc make a great spot for lounging around. Owners are fantastic to work with, which is a big help!

This is an ideal choice for a stay near Waikiki. We needed something slightly bigger than the standard hotel options, so enjoyed the extra space, while being near everything in Honolulu. A lovely property, with extra amenities of a pool and tennis court. Steps from the ocean as well. Highly recommended.

Kahala Family Vacation!
Our recent stay in Kahala was amazing! We typically stay at the Kahala Hotel, but decided to try this rental property for a one week stay instead. The house includes all of the comforts of home with the private use of the pool, spa and tennis court. Our kids loved waking up and going for a walk on the beach or spending time in the water. The Whole Foods up the street made it super easy to stock the fridge and make breakfast and other meals at the house. The property is well-maintained and located in our favorite part of Oahu. We look forward to visiting this property again on our next visit!

Fantastic Stay!
Everything was wonderful! Our family had people aged 15 to 70 and there was something for everyone. The home is beautiful. We enjoyed the swimming pool, hot tub and the tennis court. The beach was so private and yet you could easily walk along the shore to a park or the Kahala Hotel. The area is quiet and private and yet not far from shopping, dinning and entertainment. The owners are very accommodating and helpful. I strongly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future.

Great south shore property
We had a wonderful week at the Kahala Cottage -- grandparents, parents and two teenagers. The kids slept in the loft area, which was a little tight for two, but they made it work. The home is beautiful with highlights being a great pool w/Jacuzzi, nice lawn for Frisbee/paddle ball, private tennis court and shady veranda for viewing it all and having meals and cocktails...we enjoyed them all. A/C units were nice to have and are super quiet (could hardly tell when they were running). Very short walk down a path to the beach. The beach is not very spacious there, but it's another short walk to Waialae Beach Park, which has plenty of room and not crowded during the week. Convenient location to groceries, restaurants and other south island excursions. Besides just relaxing at the house and enjoying the yard (which we did a lot), other highlights of our trip included: hiking Diamond Head (5+ minute drive), two great waterfall hikes -- Manoa and Maunawili Falls (Manoa also has a great arboretum worth checking out and Maunawili has a 40' jump...if you've got the courage), great local dinners at Assagio (Italian), Plumeria seafood buffet (Kahala Resort) and Maile's Thai Bistro (Hawaii Kai Town Center). We all wanted to stay another week.

We stayed at the cottage during Sept '12 with my daughter and her partner. We all had a wonderful time the location is superb, away from the busy town area but so accessible to Waikiki. There is also a bus stop right outside the gate ! The house is spacious, clean and has the benefit of a family orientated kitchen, a relaxing pool and also only 50 yds (private access) from a quiet secluded beach. Nearby Kahala Mall is perfect for the supplies and the Olive Tree (Greek casual style cafe) is definitely worth a visit. We absolutely plan to return to Kahala Cottage again. Much mahalo to the owners of this cottage who throughout were a pleasure to deal with.

We just completed our second year staying in the Kahala Cottage. We stayed in the cottage for 4 months (Jan to May) this year and for the same time period last year.
The cottage is just great for the smaller family or retired couple. The cottage is well kept, clean and the pool and tennis court are just great for kids and adult activities. The cottage is nicely located in the Kahala area and very close to the Kahala mall, nice restaurants, Whole Foods and just the right distance from all the tourist activities in Waikiki.
I would strongly recommend the property. Also, The owners are very nice to work with and very accommodating.

Great Location
The Estate Cottage is in an outstanding location. You are close to everything but the peace and quiet made is feel far away from everything. The home has a lot of space and is clean and well decorated. It just off the ocean and a quick walk to the Kahala Hotel. Nearby is a mall with a Whole Foods, a movie theater and more. We would never think of staying anywhere but in Kahala. We do plan to return. It was perfect.

great home, spacious, well appointed, clean, convenient location, walking distance to beach, close to downtown & Waikiki. Beautiful pool and well kept tennis court. Only negative is close proximty to busy street, though the noise at night was minimal.
